Title: The [un]Lucky life of Meatworld - Day 1 - TURN 3
Post by: Calvin on June 12, 2009, 08:48:24 pm
Generally, this game will represent and model Real Life, as the Meat World. In Meat World, anything can happen. One second, you can be a lonely hobo living on the street, to become a awesome superstar, and then a meteor crushes and disintegrates every part of your body with no remain.

Get a job, hope something entertaining happens, get rich, and die peacefully. As I said, anything can happen in this meatworld.
Generally, it's somewhat along the lines of making your own adventure, but to a limit.
Still uses the regular die system (failure 1 - 6 success)

Two more players.

As I said, it's pretty easy to die in this game, since anything can happen, that's why there's only 4 players.

Hell, all you need is a 1 to die, and a 2 to get hospitalized or something.

On ANY role, or just ones where our lives are in danger?

On ANY role, or just ones where our lives are in danger?

Usually the more dangerous, the easier it is to get hurt.

Like if you were a store clerk, the worst case scenario (1) is a robbery.

Then, the worst case scenario for that would be a (1), where he shot you.

But if you were, I dunno, for say, a Army officer, (1) would be a instant kill for you, (2) would probably be shot in a body part, and then relieved from duty.

Around those lines.

Alright guys, you gotta tell me what type of person you want to roll for.
The types you can choose are as listed:

Strength - Makes you more stronger, thus, giving you a hand in hand to hand or such. But also helps in most labor-intensive jobs.
Agility - Makes you more sly and speedy, usually for criminal activity, but can be for other stuff as well.
Intelligence - Makes you a better thinker, often helping you with certain situations better. Opens up a lot of different opportunities as well.
Charisma - Makes you better at talking, giving you the ability to get promotions, get out of situations easier, make more friends, and sometimes get some info...
Balanced - A balance of all skills, instead of having one skill as your main, all your skills will be averaged out.

Then, you will roll a 1-6 die.
1 - Inability - The worse, you will barely get any of the skill that you wanted, while other skills are very low.
2 - Challeneged - Not exactly the worse, You'll still get low skill though.
3 - Normal - Gets balanced skills, with slight advantage with the skill you chose.
4 - Skilled - The skill you chose will be higher than all the other skills.
5 - Natural - The skill you chose will be very high, while all skills are balanced.
6 - Excessive - The skill you chose will be extremely high, but all other skills are very low.

So, you pick a type, and I'll roll. Generally, what type you choose just specifies what skill you will be good at.

EDIT:

Give me two types that you want. Generally, one is for stats, and the other is for traits. For example, you can be a intelligent person, but still have athletic traits.
So give me two types.

Emperor Jonathan
You wake up on the streets, finding that the person you've been mooching off of has kicked you out. Your life is in despair, as you are unemployed, homeless, and eventually going to die. You already know it. But it seems you should find a job now.

Little
You, were a Olympic Athlete, until they found out you were taking drugs. After many days of heavy drugging and drinking, you eventually ran yourself out of a job and money. You, wonder what to do as of now, since you don't have a home anymore.

Nirur Torir
You walk out of your dark alleyway, as the sun burns your eyes. As you stare out into daylight, you try to remember what happened or any history, but nothing comes back to you. But it seems that you have an idea of what's happening right now...

CJ1145
You wake up in your evil lair (Cardboard Box), and you just keep dreaming of that world domination. As you walk out of your lair, you look at the time. It's time to do something evil. Or something else. You don't really know. But still, you have a plan B, right?

Emperor Jonathan
You pick up a newspaper and you look for openings. You find the Classifieds section, and find a whole bunch of jobs. (Name a career you would like. Any, really.)

Little

You attempt to mug a random guy on the street.

STRENGTH ROLL:
Roll 1-20, but subtract amount of strength from the roll. If under 10, success.

You rolled a 20!
12
...
Results:
You walk up to a random guy on the street. You tell him that you will kill him if he doesn't give you money. But he rejects. As you throw a punch, you didn't know that he was a blackbelt in karate. Instantly, he deflects your punch, grabs your arm, and then break it, while he flips you over onto the hard cement floor. At the same time, he steals 20$ from your wallet, and kicks you in the ribs to make sure.

Will you live?

ROLL: 1-6
You rolled a 3

You are hospitalized, at the cost of 20$.
You must stay in the hospital until night.

Nirur Torir
You stick your thumb out, waiting for a car. Rolling a 2, a car comes up, but the driver was drunk. So he drives uncontrollably towards you.

AGILITY ROLL:
Roll 1-20, but subtract amount of agility from the roll. If under 10, success.
You rolled a 6!
3
...
Results:
As the car drives, at a extremely high speeds, you were able to dodge it by doing a combat roll out of the way, as it crashes into a wall.

CHANCE ROLL:
Roll 1-6 for a special event!

You rolled a 6!

Results:
As the guy walks out of the car, with cuts and bruises, you attempt to heal him. With band-aids, you patch him up a little. He thanks you, and gives you 10$, but little did you know, that he performed some crimes while drunk. So, a few seconds later, you hear police sirens. You are convicted of being a criminal acquaintance.

CHARISMA ROLL:
Roll 1-20, but subtract amount of charisma from the roll. If under 10, success.

You rolled a 7!
0
...

Results:
As the police were about to handcuff you, you attempt to tell them what happened, with a little bit of lying. Eventually, after a few minutes of talking, you talked your way out of getting arrested, AND you actually convinced him that you stopped him from escaping, giving you a reward of 20$.

CJ1145

As you walk out of your cardboard box, you find a stray cat. As you pick the cat up, it...

You rolled a 2!

Scratches your face, giving you scars, and taking 5 damage away. Luckily, it didn't have rabies or any diseases, but you left the cat alone, and let it go on it's merry way.

You rolled a 2

You found a job as a Bathroom Attendant in a business corporation building.

Your salary is 10$ a day

Little
You grab medical supplies from the counters and cabinets around. Mystified by the materials, you just splash them on your arm, hoping it'll help.

INTELLIGENCE ROLL:
Roll 1-20, but subtract amount of intelligence from the roll. If under 10, success.
You rolled a 11!

Results:

It was a success! Your arm has mended in only a few minutes, and you no longer feel the pain! As you help yourself up from the bed, a...

CHANCE ROLL!
Roll for a special event!

You rolled a 5!

Results:
As you walk outside of your room's door, you see a open door. When you walk inside, you recognize a person on the bed. Oh wait, you don't. But anyways, you look inside his pants, and you find 50$ in his pocket! You snatch it, and run away, without being caught!
Nirur Torir
You walk over a TV studio, and then...

CHANCE ROLL!
Roll for a special event!
You rolled a 5!

Results:
As you walk through the gates, a producer of a movie finds out that the current stunt-double for his movie broke his leg! As he's terrified of the news, he looks at you. He asks you if you are durable. Of course, you reply yes. After some talking, walking, and liability waivers, you finally made it as a Stunt Double!

Your salary is 30$ a day, along with high medical coverage.

CJ1145

You grab a nearby object, a lead pipe. Then, you chase after the cat. At the time you reach the cat, you whack at it as hard as you could, sending it flying at a brick wall, where it splatters into a rain of gore. At the same time though, a cop was driving by, and saw it. Next thing you know, you're held up against the wall.

CHARISMA ROLL:
Roll 1-20, but subtract amount of charisma from the roll. If under 10, success.

You rolled a 16!
12
...

Results:
You tried to talk him out, but he just didn't listen. Eventually, you're jailed for the night now. I guess you have to spend your time in the slammer.
Things you can do in the slammer:
Use the toilet
Talk to prisonmates
Work out
Play chess
Play dominoes
Go to the showers
Plan evil plans

I guess you go to work.

After grueling hours of holding towels and plunging toilets, the...

You rolled a 5!

CEO of the business walks in to the bathroom. After walking into a stall, you never saw him walk out. At the end of your shift, you wonder, and you open his stall door. You find him dead, from a heart attack. You realize your opportunity, and you take his clothes, wallet, and all. You spend his money on facial surgery to look exactly like him, and now, You're the CEO! You get a salary of 120$. Plus, a bonus of 20$.
Little
You also take his clothes.

You walk out of the hospital, ready for a new life.

Nirur Torir
For your first time of work, you take the most extreme option for the movie. Jumping into a pit of lava, but surviving by swinging on a vine, and then after landing in a cave, you're chased by a giant rolling boulder, Indiana Jones style.

STRENGTH/AGILITY CHECK:
Roll 1-40, but subtract amount of strength and agility from the roll. If under 25, success.

You rolled a 12!
-6
...

Results:

You look down on top of the volcano, strapped to a tikiboard. As the tribesman chant in their own language, you take out a pocketknife, but still hidden. As they drop you down, you quickly cut through the rope, do a launch jump on the board, making you land on a cave. After dusting you off, you see a torch on the wall. As you take the torch off for light, a click was heard, and quickly, the ceiling above you rumbles. Obviously, you run off into the depths of the cave. After evading the cave, you find yourself in a ancient room, and at the end, is a treasure. Just as you walk towards it, you stepped on a pressure plate. Wait, this wasn't in the script! Quickly, arrows zoom out of the walls! But because of your fast reflexes, you dodge them, and take the treasure, and it's the end of the cut. Already, you have impressed your producer. But then, a man walks towards you. He applauds you for your physical fitness, and offers you a job AS A TREASURE HUNTER.

Do you accept?
Y/N

CJ1145
You work out alone when...

You roll a 3!

Nothing happens. You regularly work out, increasing your strength by 1!

Well, I planned to become a famous actor, start a talk show, and invite CJ to my show, but I guess I'll take the treasure hunter job. Sounds exciting!

How do jobs work, anyway? Do we just go in to work whenever we want? If so, I should wait until nightfall to start treasure hunting. If they'll let me wait, I'll go yell at some random teenagers who look like they might do troublesome things to stay in school, not do drugs, and not commit any crimes.

I want the job though, so taking it has priority over yelling at random teenagers.

Well yeah, you take jobs whenever you want.
It takes up a turn, maybe several.

As a Treasure hunter though, you wait until you get a free cargo plane ride to chile Offer from your contractor to have a adventure, where you have a chance of dieing, but a chance of winning big.

It's actually a real gang position in prisons.

Where you punch a cop, while the rest of your gang sneaks out, leaving you behind in solitary confinement.
