I am not a Trekkie. I may have an Ambassador Spock and Captain Picard action figures, all episodes of TNG, DS9, and ENT, toy ships of Enterprise-D and Enterprise-E, a model of Voyager, am in the process of acquiring TOS episodes, have Star Trek: Bridge Commander with numerous mods, and own the VHS collection of movies 1-6 and the DVDs of 2,6, and 7, but I am not a Trekkie.

Another rendition. Purple for the mixture of adamantine and magma for the upper forums. Black for the lower forums, we who dwell within Darkling. The golden dwarf unites us all.
EDIT: Also, the grays of Darkling tend to blend a little too well into the background, making it look a little odd. Black adds a little more contrast.

On the df flags, I like Barbarossa's versions. What does the black stands for ? It stands for the forums on the version with the purple on top, but does it stand for something on the other two versions ?
I'm in for a purple/black version of that flag, or a blue/red one. Sideways or on top of each other I don't care though. Perhaps sideways is better.

I'm Australian by residence, then in order of magnitude, Dutch, English, Frisian, Welsh, Danish, Swedish. The flags themselves aren't in that order.
Try the cross of St George. i.e. a more symmetrical-shifted and colour-switched version of the Danish one, if you want to do a quick cut'n'paste from what you've already got in that strip.
(No flags for me, at the moment. I'm still indecisive over what I should use as my avatar... And, besides, the two hippos, shield, owl, etc of the Ankh-Morpork flag would be fiddly at that resolution. ;) )

But if you're (<= the person/people beavering away to make these flag images) subdividing the UK into England, Wales (...etc, as noted) then you've got to consider flags for crown dependencies (IOM should be easy enough), and I can see calls for red/white roses of Lancaster and York, amongst other less well known subdivisions of its basic nationalities. If nothing else, the coat of arms for any given town[4]! It's only logical, if you're looking at someone who is English/British/European/Terran (without all the complications of "but born in Bratislava and working for a company based in Jamaica" as additional vexilological associations ;) ).

I got to a point where it was more hassle to search the OP for flags in alphabetical order than just make one myself, and the only one I really downloaded from the OP was New Zealand, because I wanted to take the tiny awesome union flag on it and patch them over the one in the Tuvalu flag

For future reference, all you need to do is right click on each image, hit copy and paste it into paint. Then line it up correctly, select around it and hit crop. Then yer done!About 200 times, if you want a badass signature. :P

It's one person's half-and-halfed shield, one half being the heraldry technically inherited from one parent, the other half being of the other parent. Each parents' half is in turn halved to represent the entire shield owner's grandparents, in similarly recursive detail, to the nth generation. Ultimately, because it isn't fractal and there must be a limit, at the lowest levels are the much simpler patterns (bends sinister, etc) that were used by a given progenitor. But due to the way ancestry converges[1] as well as spreads, there are ultimately people who are represented in several different places upon the shield (or at least similarly-heralded people who do themselves have a common ancestor, and were entitled to similar arms), so there's obvious repetitions.
(Oh yeah, the rules of tincture generally doesn't apply to the separate halves/quarters/etc of the field, so colour against colour or metal against metal is allowed there. Forgot to say.)
Myself, I can't possibly consider sullying my shield with parentage, given that the 'Starver' entity is a construct in cyberspace inheriting nothing in that realm, and even my IRL parents (and my IRL self, who might be considered to have 'begat' this representative voice) are without entitlement to IRL battle-standards of any kinds, so I'm not dividing my shield at all and (with the one big exception of doing something that medieval heraldry could never have achieved, and would probably have written a rule against anyway) I've decided to Keep It Simple Stupid.
But first the written description, to which I didn't stick too much to the usually required "KISS", and had to take liberties with the (somewhat deliberately 'Faux' Heraldic-style) French, but here's is the verbal version:

Originally I started off thinking of using "Or" (gold) tincture instead of the "Olive" (not a normal heraldic colour, and you need to imagine it pronounced with a French accent ;) ), and now I realise I've broken the Rules Of Tincture that I mentioned, with olive on black. (But at least I haven't got it messing with the 'silver beard'.)
Oh, and the fact that Coats Of Arms weren't originally animated, I've ignored. That's surely a mere consequence of the fact that they couldn't make (automatic) animations, prior to more recent technology. ;)
(But what do you expect on two hours' sleep?!)
[1] One might say "especially with the nobility", but I'm betting that a largely immobile population of the serfs of those eras would have a similarly intertwined "family bush".
[2] What's the Faux-French for 'tilde'? ;)
[3] Though I quadratically smudge them, in the actual picture. Should have kept it sharper, really.
[4] In the image, I drew the CRT first and the the keyboard last. Mostly with splines but with (pre rotation) a few 'square' brush-hits for the keyboard keys. You can tell that I'm not particularly artistic, but that once I get into GIMP, I tend to improve significantly in my pixel-pushing style. Decided to blur the 'helm' to make it fit in a bit better, but as I'm probably not allowed helm or supporters, let's not obsess about that, eh? ;)

(None of my immediate ancestors ever told me or my family that they did anything so interesting, in WW2 or otherwise. But then the really cool stuff would never have been talked about. I have an acquaintance whose cousin (it turns out, and of course after a long silence on the subject) worked at Bletchley Park, and apparently directly with Alan Turing. That'd be a legacy I'd like association with... Although, again, it rather works best for people who didn't favour the equivalent Axis efforts, in this field...)

I knew how to do this once, since I made my avatar with it. I remember it being extremely obtuse, like all things in paint.net.
At this point all I've managed is stretching the flags or moving some ethereal boundary instead of the actual image.
This shouldn't be hard. Just expand the canvas size to way too big, line them up alongside each other so they're touching (that's the blue "Move Selected Pixels" arrow, not the white one), then crop back down until you only have the flags.

I am once again going to promote Graphics Gale as working better than most other programs for pixel art.I dunno, I got pretty into the GIMP for this purpose. Ctrl-I to select, then right or left click to choose which slot to fill with the new color. I just like having two colors on hand at all times. (One for edging/background, one currently being added.)

Gale is... not good for image manipulation. In fact I often use a mix of both gale and GIMP for anything with more advanced effects, but as a drawing program Gale > Paint.net | GIMP | Photoshop | Paint | What ever else.
Graphics Gale is only good for pixel art. There's a reason why professional digital artists use Photoshop or Corel Painter.
