Chargeshot Modification

It is noted that our Officers, Minions, and assorted others' Pulse Pistol programs don't have a Charged Shot option. So we gave them one, reinforcing the code and adding in a MEM Capacitor to charge the energy when the pistol isn't being used. First ones to get the upgrade were the Officer.exe programs, as they are smart enough to at least make use of it, and they were also given an upgrade to their targeting AI so they can target issues Minions are having trouble with.

I guess I would rather have Theme.exe Delta or some other stage changer as a full design, having the ability to force the enemy to fight in a AGI's favored terrain seems like it be strong.

while programming it, you managed to reactivate, or reinvent more, a portion of the charged shot mechanics that more advanced pulse weapon programs are known for. While the pistol itself is still totally inadequate to store and fire the extra energy, and the extra concentrated energy,
I feel like you may have forgotten this, Tric. We'd need to upgrade the pistol as well.

A proposal to that effect:

Quote
Pulse Carbine
We have the necessary code for charge shots, but our current weaponry can't handle it. So let's fix that.
The Pulse Carbine is slightly larger than the Pulse Pistol, having a charging chamber and the reinforced firing subroutines necessary to handle the bigger load of a charged shot. It can be used like a Pulse Pistol in all ways, it just has the added functionality of being able to charge shots.
The Pulse Carbine should be standard for Officer.exe.
It should also be available to a modified Minion.exe- call it CarbineMinion.exe-, with a tiny behaviour modification that has them charge up when in combat but with no available targets at the moment. They can also be manually ordered to fire a charged shot.

Too many proposals. Well, whatever.

This turn as been a bit of a mess. I'm just going to tie break once and not waffle my vote so OP can hopefully get to writing.

Idea!

DJ Catz

DJ Catz was specially created from the same models for AI entertainers and is code-dressed like a hip catgirl. Her primary weapon is her harmonica, with which she plays tunes that conjure the basic four elemental effects to change the field of battle. Outgoing and willing to do her best for the Last DJ, she drops beats and viruses on her foes. Her special attack hypnotizes, in which foes caught by it are forced into dance, and into her own attacks should she want them to. She also uses this ability to help direct Viri and allies. Of note she can manipulate battle chips to a degree if they have a sound or rhythm element to them. In cases where an enemy is close, she uses Record Scratch to knock them away with her extended claws.

A basic idea I had for one of the Hacker proposals.

Would it be 70s or 80s style?

Turn -B : Revision Phase
2 + 2 + 0 = 4 : Below Average (Normal)

Taking a basic pulse pistol and upgrading it into a carbine isn't very hard. Giving it back proper charged shot abilities is mainly a matter of increased internal reinforcement and greater energy flow capacity. Giving it to a Minion.exe also wasn't very hard, though it was more difficult keeping it from complicating the minion enough to noticeably effect their deployment rates. Teaching a minion how to properly use a charged shot? That would be a lot harder. However, the programmers didn't even try to program in cost benefit ratios for when to use the normal firing mode and when to charge, identification routines for detecting stronger foes that deserve more spike damage, or anything like that. Instead they just coded the minions to charge when they don't have anything to shoot at currently, and added a command call to let a hacker or an ADI manually order a charged shot on a target. With the superior weapon and equivalent complexity rating here's really no reason to keep normal minions around with these, and so the new CarbineMinion.exe program has fully replaced the original Minion.exe viruses in the Firmament's forces.

Oh, you also gave the Officer a carbine, but without any programming on when to use it they only do a charged shot when the copy pasted command call function for manual targeting is invoked.

It is now Turn -A, starting with the Design Phase. During this phase you must vote on what new object to design or old thing to redesign.

During turn -A, you have One Bonus Action for designing a hacker to lead your sides forces.

SparkSentry.exe

The SparkV.exe Viri resembles a glowing ball of energy surrounded by 6 hexagonal tubes floating around it. In standby form these tubes are vertical and produce a barrier of energy to protect the core while it charges it's reserves, while in attack form they point at a target and release a constant stream that pierce foes and flow through them, a constant beam. While they do have programing for acting alone to defend locations and routes they are settled in, they do best when directed by other Viri, ADI, and the Hacker. Included is a robust targeting system that can link into a network with nearby SparkLov.exe to be more effective.

Gonna just put these back here. Edited the first two a bit too. I would also like to state that I don't think we need a ADI yet, and that due to ADI's natural as digital we should have a decent foundation of coding skill before working on one. So, I feel we should make one in 2-3 turns rather than now. But that is just me.

Der_Pumpgunner.exe
Based on an old viri made ages ago by CF_Dogcatcher as a joke that was merely made to annoy people and in one case give a bank a heart attack due to one of the lyrics, which was itself based on a song that popped up in video suggestions one day, Der_Pumpgunner.exe is a Viri that is extremely useful for misdirection, dealing with enemies, and most importantly being extremely annoying. The Virus takes a humanoid appearance and clothed similarly to a boy scout with a 'pump gun' that totally isn't just an asset ripped shotgun just stolen from a old video game. Naturally, this alone wouldn't be much, however it's most important thing in it's coding is misdirection, and the song it sings. It is coded so that it can manipulate where the audio from it seems to come from, along with a projection of itself, so that way while it's actually to one's left, it sounds and looks like it's to one's right, as an example. Of course, the audio can also be from it's own location, or both it and it's projection, meaning that if the enemy ever decides to always look everywhere but the direction of the song and crack of the pump action, it can prove to be their mistake. Furthermore, more so as a mercy to anyone who isn't Ophilia, the audio feature can be disabled as well, at least for the person utilizing the Viri. Other than this, it's more or less a slightly more intelligent and much more powerful Minion with a pulse scatter gun.

Newspaper_Knight.exe
Yet another Viri by CF_Dogcatcher that is based on older work, this time based on another Viri she made that is in theory harmless as it only dragged people to fake articles or real ones that were hilariously bad and made other programs say said news was trusted or verified. It takes the form of a humanoid in late medieval armor that is seemingly made of newspaper, wielding a rolled up newspaper, and a shield made of, you guessed it, newspaper. It's coding is made to be fairly durable, with a special focus to the shield, and also specifically made to be skilled with melee combat with a shield, and is able to protect against ranged attacks with said shield. Obviously, it's not going to come up with elaborate battle plans or tactics, but it knows to use it's shield for protection and the basics of how not to get shot and hit the enemy, but that's better than Minon.exe and considering a twack from the shield or newspaper might just send a viri to the realm of clickbait news that's fine.

Hunter.exe
The Hunter.exe is a recently made Viri that takes a normal Minion.exe, adds a bunch of further code about dealing with things at range, and throws in a much longer range and more powerful weapon than a pulse pistol with a dash of stealth on the side. As one can guess, it's basically a sniper of sorts, however it's coded to be far more than merely a Minion.exe with a sniper. The pulse railgun it utilizes is designed to be able to pierce through durable coding at long range, and special care is given to the coding to make sure that they can find and strike at any weak points in a Viri's code easier, along with actually hit from a long range and a stealth system based on the scales of the Chamelee.mon. Obviously, this by itself isn't too hard, but what makes it ambitious is the coding to it's intellect. It's coding is made so it can prioritize targets of greater danger and importance, along with remain hidden without their shots being able to give away where exactly it is, or simply being caught if the stealth fails due to enemy interference until the right moment, able to hold it's fire and wait for the best time to strike. It's form is mostly humanoid, though is quite variable in appearance from one to another, some looking like classy steam powered robots to more normal looking human like appearances, to even having some minor traits from other viri having traits that more unified code shouldn't have. Regardless, this is likely a Viri to work on a fair bit into the future.

Don't forget we also have to design a hacker.
Here is the link for Torrent Jones and King Cabarent: http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=177890.msg8238716#msg8238716

This just in, tactical battlechips are practically unusable without an ADI, which also takes up memory, thus they are next to worthless. So instead I'm going to do a quick write up of my own idea for an ADI because using half the battlechip mechanic would be nice to see. No idea what these are supposed to be like, since we don't have any examples, so I'm just going to wing it. I also up-scaled the spark to be strategic scale. Can still vote for the original if you prefer that version.

Falsehood Siren - Class: ADI - TL;DR: Illusions, Gravity, and Support ADI
The Falsehood Siren (.dae/.daemon? Idk if ADI traditionally have extensions like normal, lesser programs) was originally a computer daemon for the utilities' energy management system. It helped coordinate and run the electric power system with the operators from within the Maze of Utilities. It held this position and kept things running smooth, until over time, it began to show signs of age. It started to display false data to the operators of the grid, and bombard them with increasingly occurring and erroneous alarms. It would show completely healthy sections of the grid in complete black out, or vice versa, and ultimately the decision was passed to pull it out and purchase a new software.

Tossed into the Sea of Recycling, the original daemon coasted and eroded. It would've met the same end as most discarded programs, had a Firmament hacker plunging the depths for abandon-ware not came across it. Initially a hobby project to get it running smoothy, the newly christened Falsehood Siren was quickly retooled into a weapon for the coming Great Flame War. The hackers of the Firmament rebuilt the daemon with a new body and additional personality matrices for greater autonomy. A somewhat alien looking digital construct, the Falsehood Siren Resembles a single, seamless monolith of marble and glass, roughly in the shape of a headless woman. With an orbiting array of glassy, wing-like structures behind it to act as both mobility and its method of attack.

The Falsehood Siren is a support ADI, capable of manipulating vast quantities of data and illusions to aid their forces, at the expense of direct confrontational capacity.
It's main armament, the Falsehood Array, makes up the majority of the wing structure behind it. Weaponizing its original buggy behavior to spread misinformation and faulty displays, it can mask the presence of themselves and others, as well as create a wide series of other illusions or 'electromagnetic'/digital interference that can disrupt more sensitive enemy observation and communication.
Their secondary armament is the Distortion Halo, which can create 'gravitational' distortions, for more direct offensive capability. With it, the Siren can create small singularities to implode individual targets, or create a gravitational well to throw up or slam down a group of enemies.

Though it's personality is still in its infancy, it has started to display some personal preferences as its ADI coding becomes more complex. The Falsehood Siren prefers to act more as an officer and coordinator/micromanager of troops, than a frontline commander or brawler, owing to its origin as a system manager. It's favorite color is green, and it has begun to show some budding signs of an abandonment issue, and a penchant to keep its personal worries to itself.

Master_Spark.lov - Class: Strategic Offensive Battlechip - TL;DR: An Offensive spell, with a large piercing laser
The Master_Spark.lov is an upscaled version of the proposed Spark.lov. The Master_Spark will utilize a more sophisticated code structure than the Spark.lov, giving it a far greater capability of utter annihilation. When cast, it forms a 'sigil' that manifests in the air to consolidate the memory and resources needed, before unleashing a very wide beam that both deletes and tunnels through code. Piercing through most targets, and affecting those behind it. While it lacks the degree of aiming that the original Spark.lov had, its bigger size and higher damage should more than make up for it. Its envisioned as a fantastic wave-clearer of clustered enemies, or as a decisive spearhead to breach the enemy and allow our forces to push the breach.

May as well make another Hacker, along with some other things. I'll vote on stuff later, ideally when other's give their thoughts and opinions.

Rangers_Constellation
Rangers_Constellation is someone who, by their own admission, never thought they'd actually end up here in their entire life. Their real name is apparently Irma Raedler, and they used to be a soldier. No, they weren't a part of any sort of computer based job in the army, or even a mechanical based job. No, they were just a soldier, a sharpshooter, but still just a soldier. She was such for some time too, a bit over ten full years, after which she was quite lost with where or what she was supposed to do with herself and her life. And in that, she did the somewhat foolish thing of signing a NDA and contract to basically be used in a secret project that a corporation that our people are quite familiar with had, one that got her a decent chunk of cash, but little more and also effected her even now. With the money the traveled the world for some time, still lost but at least able to enjoy the free time. However, eventually during a trip to the eastern portion of Europe, she met someone who is partially responsible for how she ended up here. Suvorova Amaliya Timurovna.

Initially, Irma was found in some interest by Suvorova, though for her marksmanship as Irma was and still is quite fond of hunting, though eventually, while Suvorova took her under her wing to train her as a sort of apprentice. And part of that training grew to information gathering, and that included to an extent hacking. Something Irma initially was adverse to, but grew on her. Over time, she would grow to be better at such skills, and gather far more skill and technique on hacking and a dabbling skill in coding. And such activities would slowly over time grow to become a hobby. And while things were going good for a time, one major reason why she was taken as an apprentice of sorts was soon discovered. Suvorova was not exactly long for the world, and she wished to pass on her knowledge. She never knew what exactly it was that got her, nor did she actually get told or learn about this until after the fact. It was just something she figured out after a long time of no contact, and some searching that found where she was laid to rest.

Even so, she continued on, and slowly but surely learned to hone her craft, in her time working on a special program in Suvorova's memory, and their life would peacefully continue, eventually ending them up in a nice home in the middle of no where living with someone they cared quite a bit about. And then, that NDA came to bite her. See, due to the nature of the project, by leaving home without a number of coverings to hide certain effects that project had on her, she technically broke it, which means she owed over half a million dollars in fines from the money she was payed, and even more money as a fine for breaking that NDA, along with a possible prison sentence... It was around this time she also heard of Zero Forma, which considering she was going to go down if she ever returned home without being stupidly careful, she thought it'd be best if she went down swinging instead of simply waiting to be crushed by fines she could never dream to pay.

In terms of personality and skill, Rangers_Constellation is, as one might expect, actually quite tactical in combat considering they actually had military's training and were in such for over ten years. They subscribe to the doctrine of wasting shots rather than viri, and also that of divide and conquer, sort of a reverse of Torrent Jones. Naturally, due to this, they rarely use melee viri, preferring to use long range viri, or at least viri with ranged weapons, and naturally they tend to adapt their strategy to an extent depending on the environment. Also, she is fairly relaxed and live and let live to those who aren't her enemies, though a bit of a snark. And occasionally will make witty comments whenever someone says something stupid, or her opponents make a mistake. They also are quite the fan of forcing their enemy into a position where they have to chose what is, for lack of better words, the least shitty of two incredibly shitty options.

Red_Death.RSD
Red_Death.RSD is an old program that Rangers_Constellation has been working on for some time now. In terms of appearance, she was designed to look like their old mentor, and it is attributed to them. Naturally, as such, she was designed to be a long range fighter, given what is called the Gatecrasher, which is basically a very large rifle that takes about twenty seconds to set up before it can fire, and the shot that it launches is designed to take out anything in sight. Doesn't matter what it is, if one's hit by it, they are gone. And, best of all, the beam fired by such a thing can easily punch through multiple targets. Naturally, because of this, they are suited to long range and are basically able to make even the most durable of Viri crash. The name Red Death is actually a reference to this weapon, as the beam forces a large number of processes to crash the operation of whatever it hits and give a blue screen of death, except in the process due to a minor little accident causes computers to switch the hex code for the color of the blue screen and make it red, something Irma actually is quite proud of despite it being so minor. While this is all well and good, most oddly is that the Red_Death.RSD's Gatecrasher can be used as a blade of sorts at close range, and due to the way it looks it fits the part. This too is an unintentional boon that was a happy little accident.

In terms of personality and intelligence, Red_Death.RSD has a learning algorithm so that it can learn from mistakes and get better as time goes on, and due to extensive effort, it is about as smart as Irma, and Sapient and Sentient. Despite this, they are someone cold and harsh, yet fair. They care little for theatrics, and only about what gets the job done, similar to the person they were based on. In other words, they are what Rangers_Constellation would call a 'hard ass'. Despite this, they do occasionally seem to show genuine care for others, usually hackers or other ADI, but even so, it's usually not something shown and can be missed, as they usually try and put others on an orderly and diligent path, even if they are firm and harsh about ensuring such at times. Though, obviously their attempts at doing all of this have...mixed success to say the least. Regardless, Rangers_Constellation is quite pleased with how similar she is to the one she's based on at least, although it's clear that Red_Death.RSD is often non to pleased with her creators sarcasm and other antics at times.

Vivi_Paltest.dat
Vivianaja Palladian as their full name apparently is in her coding, or Vivi as they most often call themselves, is...not actually a ADI, or at least they shouldn't. Their proper file name is quite literally Vivi_Paltest.dat, implying that the coder responsible either misspelled Viri, they thought it was Vivi and not Viri, or they were intended for some sort of AI that went wrong due to the mess that is it's code. Regardless of their origins, their coding is full of extremely redundant and unnecessarily messy and complex code for extremely simple actions and other such things, and all of this has been made worse by random data that has been taken up and absorbed by the thing. One might wonder then how on earth she managed to last so long and the answer is quite simple. Due to the massive amounts of padding from random data, and a decent amount of redundant code, she is stupidly durable, and by adding the coding of defeated viri can gain further 'armor' to replace that which is knocked away or off. Though likewise due to lasting so long she also very large, both in data space and in the raw amount of data it actually takes up on a PC, thankfully that size doesn't impact speed much on any proper PC that can actually manage to run them, or in virtual space.

Ophelia is the one who managed to find her, though this was completely by accident as she was working on some code that Vivi seemed to find interesting and, surprisingly, asked nicely and politely if she could look at it. Vivi soon after found said code something they desired and asked to have it as they started to take it. Ophelia managed to 'subdue' her by simply giving her the data Vivi really wanted and a nice chat, though a major reason Vivi stayed was that she apparently was quite lonely.

With regards to her intelligence, Vivi is both exceptional and sorely lacking at the same time. They are equal to a human, but a very unintelligent one. Further they are quite kind and protective of those they care about, and are fairly trusting. Especially to those who give her code she likes. However she also can easily be made upset and sad by calling her stupid, chastising her for any sort of action, or otherwise being 'mean' though people she doesn't know doing similar will usually get her annoyed at them.

She also seems to collect data they find interesting for some reason or another and eat more generalized scripts, which may explain why she's a bit of a mess. Speaking of, apparently the 'prettiest code' that Vivi has is potentially military in nature, which might be some cause for concern especially as she parades it around like jewelry. In regards to their form, they are serpentine, similar to that of a Lamia or Naga.
