I got an interesting idea after reading the Imperium Mafia thread. What if the Mafia doesn't want to kill everyone?
Aliens have invaded your town, in order to accomplish a simple objective. Your goal is to kill all the Aliens before their job is completed. Each Alien have a different mission, but if the Aliens' objectives are the same, they may both win. The goal of the Town is to kill all Aliens, in order to prevent any Alien from winning.
Humans
Townie - Normal citizen. No powers, just your wits and a desire to live
Agent - An FBI agent investigating the situation. Can investigate one person per night to determine if they are Human.
Doctor - Can prevent one person from being killed by anything other then a lynch. Only protects against one attack a night.
War Vet - Can kill one person every night.
Alien
If at least one Alien wins, the entire Town loses. The alien will have 1 of the following goals (not all goals will be used).
*Grab the FBI Agent For Study- Once during the game, the Alien chooses a person at night and takes them onboard their space ship for study. Both vanish. If the person was a FBI Agent, the Alien wins. If not, the Alien loses.
*Survive - The Alien is there for some other purpose, and is simply hiding as a human. Their only goal is to survive until the number of Aliens is equal to the number of Humans. The Alien win as long as he is alive.
*Exterminator - The Alien sees Humanity and the other aliens as a threat to his race, and wishes to erase this threat. The Alien kills one person a night. The Alien wins when he is the only one left alive.
*Lynch - The Alien wants to cause a diplomatic incident in order to get his race riled up to invade Earth. If the Alien gets lynched by the Humans, the Alien wins. This Alien may only post up to a maximum of two times per day.
I hope this is a quick game.

I am in.
-
Looks like a
very slight variation of Paranormal Mafia.
But I'll be joining anyway. =D
-
It is sort of like Meph's except without the dopplegangers, and the dopp-seeker replaced with Lynch-seeker.
Sure, what the heck, I'll join.
It's sort of disturbing how many mafia's are popping up, it's alot of competition!
If you want a short game, then I'd advise to get only a handful of players.
-
I guess I'm in.
-
I'm in.
-
Hm. So, 5 people are here. Is it okay if I decide to start the game with 5 people right now?

Wut.

The game'll probably only last 1 or 2 game days, but sure, why not.
It's your call to make though SC, it's your game afterall.
-
Im in only if it starts after several of the ongoing mafias are finished.
-
I'll join.
-
I want in. This sounds, dare I say it, ridiculous.
-
Sign-ups closed. Roles are being sent. So Alexhans is not going to be considered a player for this game.
EDIT: Roles sent. If you did not receive a PM, you are just a Townie. The game starts at Day 1. 7 people are playing. Players List
Cheeetar
Zaithemaster
chaoticjosh
bob_smith
inaluct
Little
Pandarsenic

Are we allowed to vote No Lynch?
-
It's a small game, probably with a lot of aliens. Our chances of lynching one are probably higher than normal.
-
Yes, but one possible goal for an alien is to actually get lynched.
And in SC's Third World Mafia, we weren't allowed to vote No Lynch.
-
Are we allowed to vote No Lynch?
Yes.
-
Okay then.
I vote for Cheeetar to get things rolling.
-
I vote No lynch
We have some power roles, and an alien whose goal is to get lynched. Lynching on the first day with no info is just plain dangerous.
-
I vote Cheeetar. There doesn't have to be a Jester Alien.
-
I vote for Chaoticjosh. It's a small game, why would we vote No Lynch?
-
I point my FoS at Pandarsenic for bandwagon-ing before Cheeetar even posted.
But I keep my vote the same, as Cheeetar made no effort to defend himself.
-
This is going to be a strange game, isn't it?
-
Probably. That alien wanting to be lynched really screws with typical Mafia strategy. The Vet has to kill it in the night, unless there's an Exterminator alien who kills the one wanting to be lynched for us. Assuming there is an alien who wants to get lynched.
I am suspicious of anyone who posts less than 3 times in one day. I think I'm the only one who has posted 3+ times on this day at the moment, though. <.<
-
Postx1
Posting more often makes you more likely to be lynched though because everyone knows that you're safe...
Personally, I get suspicious of anyone who hasn't posted, or doesn't post often also, but if we randomly pick the lynch alien, they will probably not defend well. But if we pick an alien, they will probably defend very well, or badly. My thinking is that the only way to get people to reveal themselves is by having them post.
I FoS Cheetar for trying to shift the blame rather then defend himself. I'm not voting anyone yet.
-
I would vote for Cheeetar, because I like Chaoticjosh's idea and Cheeetar is voting for Chaoticjosh, but Cheeetar is already going to get lynched and I don't want to look stupid if he turns out to be the lynch-seeker, so I vote No Lynch.
-
6/7 people posted.
5/7 people voted.
2 Cheetar
2 No Lynch
1 Chatiocjosh
If there is a tie in this game, there will be No Lynch.
-
Okay. Since this is a quick game.
"LYNCH!" says Pandarsenic and Zaithemaster.
"NO LYNCH!" says inaluct and chaoticjosh.
"LYNCH!"
"NO LYNCH!"
"You are all past curfew. You have to leave," says the NPC Mayor. "You can reassemble the lynch mob back here tomorrow."
It is now NIGHT. Night-Roles, send in your action.
-
You wake up and sees Pandarsenic's body. Pandarsenic was killed by a bullet to his head.
It is now DAY 2.
-
So, eh, was Pandar a townie or an alien?
-
I don't reveal roles until the end of the game.
-
Well, let's start this up again. I vote for ChaoticJosh.
-
What do you have against me Cheeetar? You voted for me yesterday and nearly got lynched because of it, and now your doing the exact same thing...
No one vote for Cheeetar, I have my suspicions that he's the Lynch-seeker.
So, I will once again protect Cheeetar against a lynch and vote No lynch.
-
I also think Cheeetar's a lynch-seeker. It would be very consistent with his attacking someone and then not defending himself. I'm not voting yet.

I just think that voting No Lynch in a small game is horrible. Let's assume the alien is Exterminator or the Grabber (and there are multiple aliens I think). They would kill one person. The War Vet would then kill one person. That's 5 of 7 left. Even if the investigator did find the alien on his first investigation, it would be dangerous for him to say this in public, as he could be lynched, the other alien(s) might kill him and the war vet might kill him mistaking him for a alien trying to avoid suspicion by claiming agent. He could also be kidnapped. The next night, assuming a no lynch, 3 of 7 left.
The aliens (if there are more than one) will be in the majority. Townies lose.
So far we have been lucky because either the aliens are not a killing role or the doctor saved the right person. But we still have one person dead, as the war vet decided to kill Pandarsenic. 6 of 7 left. Assuming the war vet kills someone, and the alien(s?) also kills someone, 4 of 7, aliens tie with humans and then kill them the next night.
This argument is assuming there is more than one alien. (I think there is)
-
You make a good point Cheeetar, but it says in the role description that the Lynch-seeking alien can only post 2 times per day maximum.
So I ask you cheeetar, reply to this post, say anything at all, and I'll believe you aren't the lynch-seeker.
-

That makes 3 posts by you Cheeetar, and since I trust SC to uphold his own rules and modkill you in case you're just being bold, I'll proceed to OMGUS and vote Cheeetar.
I suggest everyone do the same, and to not vote for anyone that posts less than 2 times today.
I am off to bed, nighty night!
-
I'd like to call out Little, see what he's been doing. He hasn't posted since the start, so could he be an exterminator or something?
-
So:
1 Vote: ChaoticJosh
1 Vote: Cheeetar
Anybody else?
-
I vote bob_smith as he has only posted once on each day.
-
I vote bob_smith as he has only posted once on each day.
How is that rational at all?
-

Because the Lynch-seeker alien can only post 2 times per day. Post again and I'll change my vote.

That makes no sense, especially to try to vote out lynch-seeker. Unless you're trying to do what chaoticjosh did to Cheeetar. My vote goes against you Zaithemaster. Anti-logic will just make us kill a lynch-seeker.
-
There. 3 posts. I wasn't actually planning to lynch you. It would be a tie, anyway.
Changing vote to Little.
-
I don't think we should lynch Zaithemaster. What he is doing is good. He is getting activity from inactive people by voting on them at random, and he is also revealing who could be the lynch seeking alien.
-
Okay then, I change votes to Qwertyuiopas, who didn't go on except the first day for a one sentence post.
-
I guess I'll vote for bob_smith this time. We need a tiebreaker, and Zai and Cheeetar seem to be trying to find the lynchseeker, which is good.
-
bob_smith: 1
Qwertyuiopas: 1
Little: 1
ChaoticJosh: 1
Cheeetar: 1
So, now...it's...a..5-way tie.
-
Oops.
-
I guess I'll change vote to Qwertuiopas.
-
Okay then, I change votes to Qwertyuiopas, who didn't go on except the first day for a one sentence post.
Oooops, wrong mafia game.... I'm voting Little.
-
Ah. Hm. Cheetar, want to change your vote to Little too?
Oh wait. That's the tiebreaker!
While everybody else argued, Zaithemaster and bob_smith grabbed the silent person, Little, and hung him from a tree. Little is now dead.
It is now NIGHT 2! Night-Roles, send me your actions!
-
You find the dead bodies of chaoticjosh and Cheeetar. Both were shot in the head.
Game over. All aliens have been killed. Humans win. Role list:
--chaoticjosh: Doctor
--bob_smith: Agent
--inaluct: War Vet
--Panda: Agent Seeker Alien
--Cheetar: Extermination Alien
-
I killed Pandarsenic and Cheeetar. What did you guys do?
Also, Servant Corps, I have vague memories of initially deciding to kill Bob_Smith and then reconsidering and switching to Cheeetar. Did that actually happen?
'Cause it was damn lucky that I changed my mind.
-
I only received one message stating you wish to kill Cheeetar.
-
I killed Pandarsenic and Cheeetar. What did you guys do?
I posted.
<.<
-
wow.... It finished fast. I will read this game when I have time to see how it went without me.
-
I tried to kill you at the start Inaluct, but ChaoticJosh was protecting you.
-
YEEEEAAHHHH
Chaotic and I formed a power base after the first night, by the way.
-
It was a power base that didn't do much, but it would have.
-
Yeah, mark our words: we won pretty much then and there.
