Time Werp Panic
« on: February 19, 2012, 09:51:38 pm »

This thread was created due to inspirations from the forum rollback that was quickly fixed on 2/19/2012. It is my first forum RPG (except for an RTD that had to be canceled), although I have done a couple RPGs with friends.
========

The world is constantly undergoing changes. Many of them, such as global warming and nuclear warheads crashing into countries, are easily noticeable. Others are..less so. The invention of a time traveling device in one year, known as the Time X, is the main cause of these changes to the world.. Only a few of them were created, and then the technology completely disappeared due to an edit to the past. Many other changes have occurred in the world as well, from small to large. Cat breeds disappearing, whole cities shrinking, and countless other edits to the world have occurred due to changes in the past. These changes are known as Plot Holes, and they are only noticed by someone who has seen the Time X device.

You and four others were part of one of the few groups to receive the Time X for testing. You all come from different backgrounds, drawn by a mysterious advertisement asking for help testing a new technology. You were given the device at the same time as five other groups, and decided to wait a short time before using it. Within minutes, the building around you flickered and completely disappeared, leaving only you, your group, and the Time X.

The device is equipped with a function to locate the time in which a Plot Hole is detected, and can warp directly to the location in which the past was edited. You must be near the Plot Hole in order to use this feature, however.

Go, fix the past, save the future. Or sneakily change it for your own good..you don't know what those other groups could be up to, though!

FlashBack (4 weeks earlier)

You are sitting in your living room/bed room/box and reading a newspaper when you came across this advertisement. What do you fill it up with before you sent it in to the mysterious address on it?
Spoiler: Form (click to show/hide)

The bottom of the advert states that the agency will select 5 people {OOC: first come-first serve!} and will contact them as soon as an acceptable group has been found.

Name: Edgar Lizardson.
Age: 21, wait, was that last year or this year? Fuck that is right, it goes off birthday, so that would be 22, right? Shit man, let's just say 22, pretty cool number. It's like 2 and then 2 again, so its double two, so it's 2 2, and that is what it is, 22.

Physical Description: Pretty skinny guy, sort of a wide, smug grin. Likes wearing a white shirt with green pants. Some people are all like no way, but he makes it work, because he is cool like that.

Personality Description: Like, chilled man, he just wants to groove, ya know? Also, has this way of sort of going on about stuff and not really getting anywhere, but that is ok, coz it is just kinda his thing, yanno? Not like he has to get anywhere with it, so I'm cool with it.

Other notes: Needs money because he has like, none. Less than none, he is so outta green. If green were dirt, he would be squeeky clean, and that is most likely the cleanest he has ever been.

Skills: Guitar proficiency, charismatic, immune to stress.

Name: James Theron
Age: Seventeen, BITCH
Physical Description : Short, fairly skinny, brown hair and brown eyes. Attire is a sweatshirt, sweatpants, and a toolbelt.
Personality Description : Bit of a hothead who gives no shits about anything except what he aims for - both in life and at the end of a gun.
Other notes : Lives with parents who are white trailertrash and is okay with it. Illegally carries around a small pistol in either the sweatshirt pocket or the toolbelt for self-defense. Signed up for the hell of it, mostly.
Skills: Pistol proficiency, immunity to social pressure, improvised weapon proficiency. Possibly baseball bat proficiency for the sake of a few horrible TF2 references.

Emit Labs only requires one more application for the group to be complete.
Further applications will be accepted via PM and if someone permanently dies somehow, they will be added by some time shift or something that will be figured out when we come to it.

There was once a time when you were subject to the horrors of your own imagination, however, through the magic of unbelievably shitty art that totally isn't even ripping off MSPA because it is bad for even that low a standard, I present, graphix.

Pascal read the letter, then read it again. "Well shit. I guess I can miss a week of class. It's not like I got to them anyway. Besides, the Penske file is behind anyway." He tossed it aside, pushed some trash off of his favourite chair and fell asleep.

SHIT! The plane leaves in an hour!

Pascal quickly threw on some fairly clean clothes, tossed some others in a bag and added his miscellanous items;
-A knife
-A lighter
-Several books
-A laptop
-Some leftover pizza

After the craziest cab ride of his life he just barely made it to the plane, and found out they'd stuck him in coach, the cheap bastards.
