There is so much wrong here, it's almost too much.

Let's start with basics.  If you're going to call your thong "The Familial Tar", I feel really bad for your children... and I don't want to know how you're gluing them to you.

Now, alright, I can see menacing with spikes of fish leather... but the marble and palm MIGHT be a bit much on your undies.  Also, love the imagery.  Ropes, serpents... was something on your mind there, little dwarf?  Compensating, perhaps?

It's also a nice touch that the image of the artefact rope reed fibre rope was itself executed in rope reed fibre.

Artefact ropes are completely normal outcomes of clothier's workshop moods - those can produce any item of clothing _or_ ropes or bags. Your dwarfs will happily use artefact bags to store various baggable items but seem to have trouble actually using them. I have a 'black sand bag' sitting around somewhere that the drunks don't want to use for glassmaking - it's too sacred for such profane uses, but apparently not too sacred to shovel sand into it in the first place.

Thur Koman "The Universes of Spreading" a pig tail fiber thong

 
This is a pig tail fiber thong.  All craftsdwarfship is of the highest quality.  It is decorated with pig tail fiber and encircled with bands of rectangular diorite cabochons, donkey bone and cushion basalt cabochons.  It is made from pig tail fiber cloth.  This object menaces with spikes of cherry opal, diorite and red spinel.  On the item is an  image of table cut gems in olivine.

The real question here is: on which side of the leather are those spikes sticking out? I mean, you might be dealing with a degenerate of some sorts.

Dwarves don't care if their underwear is a thong full of menacing spikes (or which way the spikes point) so long as it's a precious, precious artifact. That's the moral of DF. That, something about being drunk getting you through the working day and a little about digging too deep.

I have _two_ artefact leather thongs in one of my forts. One is possibly one of the cheapest artefacts possible - a wolverine leather thong using just that one hide as material. Consequently, it has only a single (wolverine leather) decoration, giving it a total value of 1.800. But that decoration is a picture of a wolf leather tunic, named "The Creepy Admirer". Yikes.
The other is a kangaroo pouch - i mean thong - with emerald and diorite spikes, bearing the name "Strapssqueezed". How is the craftsdwarfship on this thing supposed to be of the highest quality, when it's apparently a very poor fit?
