Title: Shield training
Post by: Fishersalwaysdie on August 05, 2007, 12:00:00 am
For the first time ever I got my adventure mode character to legendary wrestler level.
Hearing all the stories of elite kobold bowman I tried to get my shield skill to legendary.
So I let giant mole attack me freely while holding only a shield, and it wasn't buffing my skill at all.
First I counterattacked automatically bashing the mole to the ground into unconscious. When it woke up it jumped on me and in one turn bit off my arm and head   .
Is there any better way for training in shields?

Apparently its very slow, even on mine.

NEVER use a giant mole (or a naked mole dog) to train fighting, they erm have a tendancy to grab and rip...

yeah, too bad you cant prevent undead from biting.  break thier teeth, or something.

maybe you can build skill points by wrestling with your shield?   you know:  grab the zombie by the neck with your =iron shield=

Undead is the best way to do it; go to a ruin and lay down and wait to be surrounded. As long as you have fully plated armor and watch your "tired" level then you should be fine, when ever you get tired, get up, walk around, let it go away, and resume. This trains armor and shield really fast but its considerably dangerous because you might get mobbed and not be able to stop them. Theres a calculated risk to every method of training, and this one has a higher risk of injury but it is very effective.

Well, how about bashing the enemies with your shield?
