Title: How do you take pictures of your fortress?
Post by: Brooder on May 24, 2008, 09:24:00 pm
First of all, I am not computer illiterate. I know I can take screenshots, so far  I've been taking fortress shots by  taking multiple screenshots and pasting them all together, but is there some kind of way or an application to get a picture of the whole fortress faster?

Also how do you use that site that lets you post your fortress for other people to look at?

I think there's an export image thing in the menu, not sure though but it couldn't hurt to check.

Yeah, "export local map image" in the Esc menu.  Mind you, this creates a massive amount of bitmaps that are relatively useless.  If you go to the DFMA, there's a link to a program that allows you to mash all those files together into one big-ish file that can then only be viewed through the DFMA.

But if you just want the individual pictures, feel free to use the export option.  You can change the bitmaps to more manageable .PNGs or whatever other image type you want.
