Mostly posting to watch, though I'll also include an old drawing from my first fort (40d) to get things started.

This captain of the guard is still my favorite dwarf to date. Nothing like watching her charge solo into a goblin squad and literally scatter them (and their various body parts - thanks, obsidian swords) to the four winds. Once, after obliterating the goblins that were mobbing an injured fortress guard, she immediately took the recover wounded job herself. Donatella managed to haul the poor guard within view of the fortress gates before she finally bled out.
What's wrong with MSPaint? You can make perfectly delightful images in it!
See, have a look at this product placement for this fine dwarven hygeine product!

I made all of it in 100% MSpaint. You just need to get used to it. :D
It's from the forgotten beast art contest thread on community stories and games.
Here's the description page.

It has an abnormally long body, eg, a "trunk", per the description. It has a deadly dust attack, hence the dandruff reference.

I am awed by your skills with the MSPaint.
Also, is it just me or is that thing trying to put the moves on with erotic poses?

Need I say more?
First drawing :D
In fact, for a while they DID hold the office. Sort of.
Anyway, the well-known anomalous property of dwarven embarks:

I drew this one with the intention to have a horrible MS paint picture last year sometime.

My dwarves are always ecstatic outside my gates, despite the blood and gore everywhere.
There was this one Fort I started, with the intention of building up before digging down to the spire, making a suit of the finest candy metal armour before abandoning, leaving a path to the HFS for an intrepid adventurer.
Needless to say, I never did get around to abandoning Silentthunders.

The events happening in the image are better shown as a timeline, advancing through Silentthunder's early days from left to right.
On the left, right after the dead trees and shrubbery are the two miners of the starting 7, Kogan and Unib, waiting by the wagon (I always like to interpret the Dwarves turning the wagon into makeshift shelter as to why it can't move anymore) for Vabok the expedition leader to forge the first copper tools for the small outpost of Eshomamud. The Metalsmith's forge is quite surprisingly the oldest and longest surviving structure in Silentthunders - the Fort was unintentionally built around it.
On the willow tree Uvash is learning the strenuous task that is being a Marksdwarf roaming where the evil birds fly. The first encounters of undead ravens were vast underestimations of their evil arts.
By the willow tree are the crops that would soon sustain most of the Fort.
Just below the foul ravens are the two farmers/carpenters Datan and Ablel, hefting radiant copper battle axes to hack down great oaks and old ash trees, clearing their way to flat grounds on which a Fortress can be built.
On the far right is the legend of Muthkat and the Moose; where a lone Marksdwarf without any bolts or armour to speak of single handedly fought a monstrous undead moose to the death, losing teeth but ultimately emerging victorious.
One of my Remaining Six (damn 'coon...) sneaking some of his favorite food from the outside barrels.

Behold!
I drew this back in the days of 23a.

... Okay, false. I drew this a month ago, when I was playing 23a.
Please excuse the handwriting; mice make poor writing utensils.
