The Illustrated Adventures section is so sad and lonely. Why don't we fix that by added The Warrens of Oric the Awesome (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=121809.0)? I'll come up with a cool button for it like Adventure Guy has a little later.

The entire list is lonely. Come on people!

Added The Warrens of Oric the Awesome (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=121809.0) and cleaned up the Dead games from the last thread, just need to contact Skyrunner and determine whether TPN is dead or not.

Fine...

Put Delving the Tomb of Horrors (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=114786.0) on the list. It's been revived from the dead a couple times (how appropriate), but it should be going strong now. Happy?

YES

Not as happy as I could be though.

Galactic machinations (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=121226.0)

-Something rather weird actually. A combination of a suggestion and a competitive multiplayer strategy game.
-Description: The order of Life, a religious monarchy controls Earth and several other starsystems. However, it's strong religious doctrines prove to be problematic for it's development, and as factions are grasping for power, the threat of a rebellion continues to rise.

Salvation (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=116652.0)

-Join the Salvation and it's crew on their voyage through the stars, exploring the jumpgate network, and fighting of spacepirates and such.

Wagon train to the Stars (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=121322.0)

-The colony based suggestion game inspired and placed within the setting of the above game.

Lost and Found of the Multiverse (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=118286.0)

Not the creator, but yeah. ((Vorthon himself is busy doing an LP/playing Fallout NV/doing random crap I don't even know anymore)) And I felt it was a disgrace that this game wasn't on here despite being on the front page of the sub forum for ages.

Basically, characters from all over fiction, and maybe even real life get tossed into a dimension between worlds called the Lost and Found. Crazy stuff (and shipping!) happens.

Infimicon (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=122477.0), which I suppose is kinda like a multiplayer noncooperative something-or-other game.

Also, can you accept games from the Roll to Dodge subforum?
Title: Re: Forum Game List: Hey People! You Can Put Your Games Here!
Post by: 10ebbor10 on February 09, 2013, 04:30:00 am
The roll to Dodge subforum has it's own list.
Title: Re: Forum Game List: Hey People! You Can Put Your Games Here!
Post by: GreatWyrmGold on February 09, 2013, 07:40:21 am
I know, but the series of games I have in mind isn't acceptable.
The Art of Minimalism is a series of minimalist RtD's that I have run, which overall has been going on for several months. Given the...nature of the audience, though, no single one has made it a month. Also, if one did, only that one would be eligible for the RtD HoF.
Title: Re: Forum Game List: Hey People! You Can Put Your Games Here!

It's probably a bad idea.

Ze list has been updoot.

Also, can you accept games from the Roll to Dodge subforum?

No. The RTD subforum is separate enough from the main FG&RP board to where it would be more trouble than its worth to have a listing here.

Godhood VII (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=109072.msg3264664#msg3264664)

I am not sure in which list Godhood should fit. It's sort of a sandbox, roleplaying, competitive and co-operative, god game.
I linked to the OOC Thread.

NOUN PLACE NOUN PLACE PLACE NOUN NOUN NOUN PLACE PLACE PLACE NOUN.

NOUN PLACE.

A MULTIPLAYER DUNGEON CRAWLER. RANDOM ROOMS based on NOUNS and PLACES. And FACE PUNCHING and SAUCINESS and MIND CONTROL. ALSO FREE CANDY. BEST GAME EVER. JOIN NOW.

NOUN PLACE NOUN PLACE PLACE NOUN PLACE PLACE PLACE NOUN NOUN PLACE.

...

Could you please add NOUN PLACE (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=124447.0) (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=124447.0) to the list? It's a multiplayer dungeon crawler, with the gimmick that each room's theme is based on a random noun and place. So you could end up travelling through the Imperfection Parkcentre to the Canceler Shore past the Discriminator Playhouse, facing suitable challenges on the way. Sense is obviously not required or needed in this game, especially since we have a talking sword running around with cosmic horrors and a horse-ridding bear.

I'm really surprised that no one bothered to report that spambot yet.

A New Age Begins (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=125151.0) - This game is going to be taking place upon an alternative earth where dragons exist, and have taken over the world, subjugating the humans.  The players will be taking the part of either humans or dragons either fighting for freedom, or, in the case of the dragons, trying to hold onto their newly gained authority.

The list is now hip again.

Also added a bit to the How Does My Game Get On This List section, detailing that games do not have to have been running for any amount of time before being added, as many people seem to think that they need be and it should have been specified in the first place.

I was wondering how it got here already. Much obliged for the recommendation! For the formal game post:

Blunderbuss: (http://bit.ly/148tNaE) Where Gods walk the earth, Elves shoot at them with muskets, and Dog-folk misunderstand the nuances of Gentleman's High Fashion.

Seeing as this thread is here, I feel like I might as well submit IGYNPADCA (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=104495.0) to the list. The name stands for "Incomprehensible Game You've Never Played And Don't Care About". It's basically a freeform game made to parody certain Other Games threads.

As for where it fits activity-wise, I think it might be semi-active, since it seems to get necro'd every few months and experience a burst of activity, then die out eventually until it rises once again.

I'd like to recommend The Second Galactic War (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=126070.0) by USEC_OFFICER. It's a stategy game where two teams of players battle with spaceships on a hex board, divided up into two different threads for the two teams.

I dunno... Here have this.

*Edit:* Just so you know I did this as a small thing for fun. I haven't read the thread in question and have no idea what it's about.

The deep void of space was an unexplored frontier. For untold centuries vast numbers of sentient beings dreamt of colonizing the stars. They dreamt of spreading their progeny far beyond the comprehension of the generations before. They dreamt of vast numbers of alien species whose wise council would bring new ideals and brilliant technologies to their own planets. They dreamed of a peaceful coexistence with these councils where all would be equal. In the end that’s all it was… A dream.

The first several years of the period known only as “Council” were a time where these dreams were fulfilled. Each and every species and planet gained multiple new technologies. Culture, ideals, designs, and medicine spread at a rate unheard of before or since. Unfortunately Council lasted only twenty years. Soon the first occurrence of political power-plays happened. This instance was followed by another. Soon the Council was no more. Their noble goal crushed under the weight of individual desire. The Council split into hundreds of thousands of smaller groups. The two largest began to eliminate their smaller kin through acts of extreme violence and inter-galactic weapons capable of destroying entire systems.

Now with only The New Council of Peaceful Integration [NEPI] and The Coalition of Inter-Dependent Planetary Systems [CIDPS] capable of inter-galactic flight the war that began eons ago is finally coming to a close. CIDPS and NEPI meet one last time in the vast vacuum of space with their fleets of destruction. Only one dream remains: Peace. Only one means to obtain it: War.

I for one am disgusted by the blatant advertising of Whatever Wyrm's talking about. (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=126598.0) It's gripping story and high paced action made for adrenaline junkies and forum goers alike is absolutely irrelavent. The role-playing aspects, so expertly crafted, belong more in a RTD forum than in a forum about strict role-playing.

Shame on your advertising.

Jawohl! (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=127222.0)

A Co-operative Multiplayer game where the players are Nazi scientists doing what Nazi scientists do best: Performing experiments, messing with the laws of nature, and acquiring enough loot to make a King weep. Things aren't all roses and Übermensch though. Enemy agents are everywhere, experiments will go haywire, and the High Party does not tolerate failure. The risks are high, but the rewards are higher! Do you have what it takes to lead the Third Reich to victory and earn a ton of cash doing so? Jawohl!

A pseudo-D&D game run by the enviable Ross Vernal, this game takes place in a 'post apocalyptic dungeonpunk' world, seen through the eyes of two adventuring parties of the Adventurer's Guild, out to succeed at their given quest for profit and personal goals! Awesome game that is no longer looking for a player.

Magic Girls

Started by scapheap, a RPing game that has taken an anime style to the players writings. It even went so far as to get a tropes page and has the weirdest high activity times due to timezones. Oh, and theres also an alien invasion, constant shipping, a relationship between 2 girls and 1 boy, tons of puns and references, as well as player controlled NPCs because why not break the fifth wall?

I guess I can suggest my game, The Guilds of the Floating Castle (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=127432.0), a team-based game where everyone is trying to stab each other in the back as 8 separate guilds vie for territory to expand their political impact and income. Currently involves in-fighting in one guild, as well as rampant destruction and explosions. Could also use more players to fill in the NPC slots.

Title: Re: Forum Game List: Hey People! We Got Games Here!
Post by: Criptfeind on June 26, 2013, 10:23:18 am
I'm pretty sure the original idea was that the list being sticked gives it at least a false sense of authority and thus can't pick and chose what games it shows because that leads to a air of official sanction by bay12 even when it is not strictly speaking the case.

That said, generally speaking adding rtds to the list is a bad idea because they have their own list and there are so many and they are born and die so fast.

So basically yes, if you want to add a rtd to the list you are able to, but you really shouldn't.

At least, that was how the list was when I was keeping it, I don't know if any of these ideas are still correct.

Cript's pretty much spot on.

Not sure how Second Galactic War managed to sneak its way on without me commenting on it though.

Anywho, list is updated again and the time before a game is considered dead has been expanded to a month, as two weeks seems a little short and that's about the frequency I update this thing anyway.

EDIT: Oh, and as a note, I'm open to any suggestions for changes to rules so long as it's reasonable and doable. It's the Bay12 FG&R list not Phantom's FG&R list.

So here goes:

A fun little game where the players play budding casters in contemporary America who hunt monsters for coin and do other mercenary work on the side. It is split between a forum game and a Maptools RPG, but potential lurkers should take heart in the fact that we will be archiving everything that happens on maptools. The archive can be found in a post by Tarcius on the first page of the IC thread. Team Fortress (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=127963.45) is, as the name would suggest, a non-cooperative (well, it is cooperative, but there are two teams) "strategy" game (it's a shooter, but there are elements of strategy) with Team Fortress 2 weapons, classes and hats.
It is illustrated with a top-down view of the (randomly-generated) map, with the goal of the game to capture all the rooms (NS2-style, but with TF2 control-point-esque mechanic).

Currently has 8 players, myself included. (I know it's strange to be both a player and GM, but I can just commit suicide if that's wrong with anybody, although nobody complain when I "joined")

Dark clouds gather around the hilltop as arcane rituals are performed. Hexes fly forth and cause miscarriages amongst the local town's goats. Deep below in a hidden fortress a man stoops over a corpse cackling: "It updates... IT UPDATES!!! AHAAHAAHAAA-ACK!"

As always let me know if I missed your game or if I removed it and it wasn't dead.

Why is Hatquest off the list?
Because you hadn't updated in over a month last the mysterious Phantom appeared?

Oh yeah. Could I get it re-added now that it's active again?

Huh. Phantom is missing? That's a pretty bad thing.  Perhaps it's time to pick another to run this thread.

The sequel to the first Competition game.

I have some text adventures i would like to add to this list.
Specifically these suggestion games.

Prince: of Lords and Sorcerers (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=131059.0)
A game of lordship and political intrigue centered around the main character Raynor Casar, a boy looking to inherit his father's kingdom. It features magic of many kinds, but has few other fantasy elements, the focus is on an exploration of feudal politics.

 Trader of Favors  (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=135616.0)
This game focuses on an exiled demon stripped of his powers and possessions and forced to make his way on a backwater mortal plane. The setting draws heavily from the dwarf fortress mythology and ecology, but the cosmology within the setting is a mix of many things.
