Title: Personality traits contradict eachother.
Post by: Paul on November 09, 2007, 08:27:00 pm
This may have already been mentioned, but it seems personality traits contradict eachother sometimes.
I just looked at the personality of some of my dwarves. Heres an example: "She is a nervous wreck. She can handle stress. She is incredibly confident." So she is an incredibly confident nervous wreck who can handle stress? Riiight...

Well each of those are obviously on a spectrum of possible values for each personality category. And it kind of makes sense, even in this case; she's nervous and overreactive, but she can take care of stressful situations (as opposed to diverting her attention elsewhere, she eliminates the stressor). She also is somehow confident; she must think her paranoid outlook is the best one to have. It's weird but I don't see why it's impossible.

I'm an extroverted recluse, for example.

Yeah everytime I see a combo that looks contradictory, I think about it, and I can see it happening.
