Ok, so Im full of ideas about everything so Im just going to suggest everything here instead of going off topic on my own thread.
As mentioned I have ideas on my other thread so you can go there if you want.
But I have another idea for more creatures (Not people, actually monsters.)
Fascinating. It’s called Elysia Chlorotica and lives along the east coast of North America. Apparently, it has some algal genes which let it use the chloroplasts to photosynthesize, probably acquired by horizontal gene transfer. For those wanting to know more about the whole chloroplast-theft phenomenon, it’s called kleptoplasty. The species is also apparently entirely hermaphroditic.
As you could tell from that, or maybe not if you don't understand it, that creature will eat algea and steal the chloroplast from it's cells. Meaning that creature is plant and an animal. I was thinking of a creature like that, that would be harder to kill than the others, becuase my idea would go the extreme and make the entire animal mostly plant, thus extememly hard to kill.
Now, onto my other ideas, which probably won't be in any order, but my OCD will probably give it a little order.
Locations;
Resort;
This would basically be an apartment on the outskirts of town, but you can't threaten your way into it, and it costs A LOT more, Im thinking it could also start with 95% secrecy, and raids would respond to it slower since it takes a while to get there, and during army raids they're less likely to bomb it due to all the important buildings over there.
New creatures there;
Bellhops
Resort Security Guards
New loot
-None-
High School
A location downtown, it would have metal detectors at M plus Gun Laws, which have a chance of not going off.
New creatures;
High Schoolers (Moderate since they probably haven't had the time to choose which side they're on yet.)
Principle
Vice Principle
New loot;
Gym equipment (Would fence for 400$)
New weapons;
Street Sweeper.
Automatic shotgun that fires three round bursts.
.45 SMG
An SMG that fires .45 ACP rounds, and would do more damage than the 9mm varient.
STG 44
Basically an Nazi AK, it would do high damage, but be extremely inacurate.
Smith and Wesson 500 magnum
Possibly the strongest hand gun in the world, it would only be legal during C+ gun laws like the Deagle. It would be much more damaging, but you would need a very high pistol skill to hit the brode side of a barn since it has such high recoil.
Mauser C96
A weapon with very low damage but very high acuracy that fires 10 mm ammo.
-
school shootings huh?
sounds fun
-
No real comment on most of it; the school-shooting angle is understandably not-so-nice, but then the SLA did take a school superintendent hostage and ultimately executed him (despite the fact that at least some of their ransom demands were being met).

But since when was this a "nice" game by any meaning of the word?

Exactly.
-
Apparently since we decided that asking the LCS to practice what it preaches isn't worth implementing. Having LCS members call out the leadership/player for shooting facilities, publishing CEO information, etc would, to a certain degree, enforce fighting "nice".
<shrug> One of those things where I'm worrying about having to defend LCS rather than talk it up.
-
I had another idea, what if one holidays would have special effects.
Christmas: Members of the LCS would go out and give gifts to the poor, and make people like them.
Halloween: Instead of candy, the LCS would hand out liberal pamphlets, gives a slight boost to all laws.
Valentines Day: One random member will get a random sleeper agent automaticly.
Easter: The LCS throws a big non-religious Easter party, making people like them.
Black Friday: The LCS will go make a big feast with non-modified food, slightly boosting animal rights.
Happy Lefharicson day: Hinger, dinger dargin!
Chinease New Years: The LCS goes and throw a party in a sweatshop, giving a slight boost to both immagration and cibil rights.
Presidents Day: The LCS will do a deminstration denoncing Conserative presidents, so if a conserative is in office is rating lowers, if a liberal is in office his rating increases, and if a Moderate is in office he is non-effected.
If I forgot any holidays just remind me, Im kind of a ditz.

Fixed.

What did you change?

Shanksgiving.

Thanskgiving: The LCS will go make a big feast with non-modified food, slightly boosting animal rights.
-
I like the holidays, but it would have to cost money to throw a party. Though the problem I can imagine would be implementing food, as that factor has never been implemented in the game.

I added a line below it too.

There used to be a "cooking" skill in the game. It used to allow you to make more money selling brownies.
Small amounts of money also used to be deducted from your total to feed your liberals. Having a high cooking skill lowered the amount that was deducted.
-
So would we have to re-add those in?
-
I think that skill would be pretty useful if re-added. Especially since there are still Chef encounters available.
-
The problem is that if we put the cooking skill back in we would have to include making cakes with a nail file in it to bust people out of jail.

I'm not sure if you were only joking, but I freaking love this idea!

Street Sweeper.
Automatic shotgun that fires three round bursts.
There are two versions of the Armsel Striker. The pre-Protecta designs, and post Protecta designs. The former uses a large spring to turn the cylinder, which is wound during loading. Actual reloading of the weapon would take a lot longer than one combat round in LCS.
The latter is a pump action weapon (well, to be correct, a lever-action).
The both don't fire any quicker than a semiautomatic, so letting it have a burst is silly. The pre protecta designs had issues with the spring, so they're unreliable. The post is essentially a 12 or 7 shot pump action revolver that is slower to reload than a normal 7-shot shotgun. And heavier. And less concealable. Also they're classified as destructive devices, so C and C+ gun control laws only. And there are very few of them in the states.
No version the striker is fully-automatic. Or even semi-automatic.
There's nothing that a DAO-12 can do that a Saiga can't do better, especially since larger magazines exist, and they're more concealable/reliable, and fire quicker.
.45 SMG
An SMG that fires .45 ACP rounds, and would do more damage than the 9mm varient.
Is damage really even an issue in LCS?
STG 44
Basically an Nazi AK, it would do high damage, but be extremely inacurate.
There are not many STG-44's in the states. Liberals would have trouble finding ammo. AND they're even heavier than AK's. Also, 7.62x39 is more energetic in almost all of its loadings than the STG44. So why does LCS need the STG44?
Mauser C96
A weapon with very low damage but very high acuracy that fires 10 mm ammo.
Been playing too much fallout?
10mm is sort of a hobby cartridge. In the fallout universe, it's for some reason the most prevalent round.
In real life, it's a sort of baby magnum cartridge, more energetic in all of its loadings than 9mm or .45ACP, but not quite a .44 magnum. A hot 10mm loading is about a the weakest .44 magnum loading. Its bonus is that there are autoloaders chambered in it. Most notably, the Glock.
I don't really see a point in adding this cartridge in a C96. No C96 was ever chambered in 10mm, and I would cringe at the idea of a gunsmith taking the time and effort to ruin a historical piece such as a c96 by rechambering it. 10mm is such an energetic round that guns usually need to be designed around it, like the large frame Glocks. The first 1911's chambered in 10mm had lots of issues.
Again, there is the issue of ammo being hard to get (lots of stores don't stock 10mm), and it being hard to use. C96's are much the same: hard to find, expensive to obtain. Not worth a liberal's time, since decent 9mm and .45 ACP autoloaders, and 44Magnum revolvers exist.
IF 10mm was introduced, it should only be available at C+ to M, I think. Not quite as evil as .44 magnum, but much more "why would you ever need that you conservative?" worthy than .38 revolvers.
-
Can I ask a question as rebuttle? Since when is LCS realistic?
-
It's realistic in the sense that it has guns that are prevalent in it.
These are weapons I can go to a gunstore and expect to find.
- 12gauge pump shotgun
- .38 revolver
- .44 Magnum revolver
- AR15 depicted as commonly found
- 9mm Pistol (Extremely common, could be Glock 17/19, Beretta M9/M9A1/Beretta92FS, etc.)
- 1911 Pistol, or similiar single stack .45ACP pistol (america's favorite handgun for a long time since 1911)
I might find a Desert Eagle, they're not terribly uncommon. In the game you can find them in one place. That's fine, since the liberals only ever want to visit one gunstore.
These weapons are harder to find as a civilian, requiring a 200$ tax stamp and months long paperwork IRL...And several thousand dollars. Otherwise, most of them (AK 47 excluded) are quite common in the hands of Law enforcement and military armories. Soldiers don't have weapons while on base, however.
Proof:http://www.subguns.com/classifieds/?db=nfafirearms&category=All+Items+in+this+Category&query=category&search_and_display_db_button=on&results_format=headlines
Finding a transferable mp5 would be difficult, but a few are supposed to exist. Post dealer samples also exist, but those are more difficult to obtain. Regardless, that's at C gun laws. At C+, I'm certain the tax stamp and months long paperwork/background check will go away, as well as the Hughes amendment.
EDIT: I checked again, and there is an MP5 for sale there, for the whopping sum of 28 thousand dollars. No huge hoops to jump through, transferable to anyone who can pass a background check and own a gun.
The M249 is also exactly where it belongs- in the armory of the base, locked up.
The Flame throwers only exist at a certain time with a certain law all the way at C+.
So yes, the game is somewhat realistic, in that common guns are where they are supposed to be.
EDIT2:
How about instead:
Glock 20 (15 rounds of 10mm and still smaller than a Deagle)
Saiga 12 (5, or 8 rounds of 12 gauge.... 10, 12, 15 or 20 if you go aftermarket.)
KRISS Vector? (I'm not really sure how well these are selling in LE circles. None to be had in military bases. Mercenaries and CIA maybe.Otherwise....)
UMP45 for your .45ACP SMG fix.
P90 ( 50! rounds of 5.7x28 which sits between .38 and 9mm, but designed to have good armour penetration. There are 14 agencies listed on wikipedia that issue this weapon, some in patrol cars. None to be had at military bases.)

My idea:
Moderate Crime Squad
As we know, both of full Liberal and full Conservative laws are rather... Wrong.
So, that Squad would work for make laws only moderate or best for country like promoting nuclear power, low taxes, women rights, little liberal gay rights, low pollution ect.
MCS would have both other Squads as enemies.

I thought about this before. I like the idea of keeping the country as centrist as possible and actively fighting off both liberals and conservatives...
The issue is that it's harder to strawman the issues.

Alright, after a long hiatis of no ideas, and a watching of Grimith's LP of Galactic Civs II, let me get onto it.
Now, its been said to death, but... SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCCCCCCEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I was thinking a space station location, filled with creatures you might find of Earth, all sorts of people. But also unique creatures, like people of different species. Because, really, who hasn't thought of that at least once? NO ONE! Thats who! Maybe Grimith, but he and the Cybrixian Imperium are hellbent on taking over the galaxy.
Another more played out idea is more weapons. We've had the same weapons since Toady worked on the game, I think we should add some more. Ive already suggest the Saiga-12 at one time, but thats really all. Maybe an AR-7, or any .22 rifle would be pretty cool, maybe a "Long Rifle" skill for guns and guns like that. Maybe some sort of .308 hunting rifle.
Yet another one like that is new armour. I, myself, have no ideas for that, but maybe some others will.
Ive said it once, Ive said it a thousand times, but gambling. Maybe a location on the outskirts to gamble at. Another idea is that there would be down downtown, university district, and the outskirts. The one downtown would have a low payoff, but high chance of winning. The one at the university district would be medium ground, and the one on the outskirts would have a high payoff but a low chance of winning.
An idea I had is that sometime a liberal could fail to go on a mission with a ground, with a prompt that says something like,
"Green Warrior was caught in the bathroom and failed to go with the rest of the squad."
"Green Warrior was asleep and failed to go with the rest of the squad."
"Green Warrior stopped to tie his shoes and was left behind on accident."
, and stuff like that.
I also had an idea that there could be a chance of a member having Schizophrenia, and a chance of having an episode while out of the base where they randomly start swinging or shooting. While they do there could be a chance to hit someone of the same square as they are, hitting another liberal, or if the have a gun they would set off the alarm.
Several people have also had the idea cybernetics, where at a certain point in time, which is set is several different times based on the people suggesting, people could go and get buffs the certain attributes. I was thinking something like this.
Chest: Health
Legs: Agility
Arms: Strength
Head: Intelligence
To keep it from being really over powered one person should only be allowed to get one upgrade. Ill leave the year it starts to debate.
-
I like gambling, you could do illegal underground boxing. And send your liberal cronies in as the boxers...
Maybe they can be mercenaries? I mean you do encounter corporate hired mercenaries in-game, why can't you be one?
If we're talking liberal rebellions, maybe some tank destroying weapons like RPGs. We have tanks in LCS already, I think we need more than tank traps.

Alright, since Foxxy says hes trying to go to update in a few days I just want to bring this back, for more ideas and to see if Fox wants to throw any of this in at the last moment.
-
I'm not currently working on any of these, but I'll give some feedbacks:
Now, its been said to death, but... SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCCCCCCEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I was thinking a space station location, filled with creatures you might find of Earth, all sorts of people. But also unique creatures, like people of different species. Because, really, who hasn't thought of that at least once? NO ONE! Thats who! Maybe Grimith, but he and the Cybrixian Imperium are hellbent on taking over the galaxy.
While cool in general, visiting a space station seems out of scope for this particular game.
I know there's some interest in having a larger number of weapons, but every time you add new weapons, it becomes harder for players who haven't played the game before to figure out what sort of gear to buy and equip. For this reason, I don't like to add new weapons unless they fill a mechanical niche, or really tap into an iconic image that's currently missing. So having some kind of shoulder-fired rocket you could use against tanks or vehicles in car chases would be neat, or maybe a sniper rifle and hunting rifle if there's a good way to model them in the vague short range combat model LCS has.
I like this, I think gambling could be quite good. Cheedows' suggestion of illegal underground boxing is also a good variant.
These random events would be more frustrating than fun in practice, so I wouldn't add them. For the most part, random events that harm the player should be external factors, rather than their own squad being randomly terrible. They should also be things you can help to mitigate.
A good example is the random event where a mob assaults one of your activists. It's a believable event that doesn't suggest your activists are pathetic, and you can avoid it in several ways: Street sense to avoid the scene, giving your characters weapons to scare off the mob, or training them up in martial arts so they win the ensuing fight.
Several people have also had the idea cybernetics, where at a certain point in time, which is set is several different times based on the people suggesting, people could go and get buffs the certain attributes. I was thinking something like this.

While the game does swap the weapons out for lasers and stuff after 2100 or whatever, this is a cosmetic easter egg; the game still plays exactly the same. Since the game isn't really about cyberpunk or technology, I'm not inclined to add any future technology mechanics that don't kick in at the start of the game.
-
Especially since getting to the distant future takes an extremely long time.
-
Maybe add a cathedral location, a religious freedom issue, a priest's robes disguise and a bishop as an important conservative. Maybe a useable location, pulpit, which would be like the microphone or stage but use religion as one of the skills.
-

I like it!
Also, I had an idea for a new prompt while fighting with Unarmed.
"Green Warrior swings at Teenage."
"Green warrior grabs the Teenager's nipples and twists them off!"
Can happen to either conservatives or Liberals, causing bleed torn damage to the chest.
"Green warrior swings at Teenager."
"Green warrior punches into Teenager's chest and rips their heart out!"
An insta-kill attack like when cutting the head off somebody with a sword.
-

All religions, and atheists, are free to follow their beliefs or lack of without persecution.
Some religions considered 'dangerous' are cracked down on.
Offensive religions and heretics are exterminated.
Something along those lines for the religious freedom issue?

Hm, I think the one you have for moderate would be good for regular Conservative.
I was thinking something this.
Everyone is allowed to follow whatever they want without persecution.
All types of religion are supported.
Judaism is grudgingly accepted.
Christianity is no longer strictly enforced, but no other religions are allowed in public.
Everyone is FORCED to be Christian, if you are found to follow any other faith you are killed.
-
Is religious tollerance even a Conservatism versus Liberalism issue in real life?
-
Is religious tollerance even a Conservatism versus Liberalism issue in real life?
Well, a lot of people in politics are just, "Everything is about Christianity fuck you! You can't get married and all religious stuff except for Christian stuff are banned from schools and junk." Which I have seen, one time, a long time ago, my teacher was teaching us about English using a bible, and whenever someone questioned what it said in the bible the teacher grilled to the fuck out of them, even calling one of the atheist students a "dirty, mindless heathen." When I complained about it to the principle using separation of church and state as a back. When the principle did something the state did nothing and the principle was scolded for complaining about, or so he says, nothing defiantly happened to the teacher though.
-
Well yeah but if it falls outside "Conservatives versus Liberals" it isn't part of the spectrum no matter how great it would be or how satiristic. Mind you I don't have a say, but I believe it is part of the vision.
Also remember that L+ is supposed to be almost ironically edenistic as in "maybe too good" without it being bad. As well remember that these also represent laws and not just oppinions. So your list should represent changes in law and not changes in "how people think about what".
-
There used to be a "Religious Freedom" issue (though I don't know if it was actually named that) in the game. It only appeared in one release, and was removed after that.
-
Cool, but what do ya'll think of my new first fighting ideas? Considering how much off-colour humor the game has I noticed a disturbing lack of nipples.
-
Some more Mortal Kombat moves would be nice
-
Needs more nipple and more cow bell. But mortal combat stuff would be cool. Some of the clothes from the people in the game, Hadoken, kicking people's heads off, ripping their hearts out (which was one of my ideas), some groan kicking would be cool to, I noticed a lack of that to.
-
I love the heart-ripping idea. Some eye-gouging would be nice as well.
-
Talking about the "religious freedom" issue, there's already messages for it in SVN's dev/lawrefrence.cpp (the whole dev folder seems to be for stuff for further development):
S: Religion is illegal. (S is for Stalinist -- there seemed to be an idea of an additional Stalinist Crime Squad (or something), which was supposed to help liberals at some issues and harm at others).
C++: The world derisively refers to the country as "Jesusland". (An extra-Conservative policy? According to src/basemode/liberalagenda.cpp, C++ policies are those used after the Arch-Conservative Amendment's success.)
C+: Encouraging religious faith is a major goal of public policy.
C: Public schools include organized prayer and study of creation beliefs.
M: Religious charities and private schools may compete for public funding.
L: Government is prohibited from supporting religious organizations.
L+: Purely faith-based viewpoints are irrelevant to public policy.
(I'd probably prefer something in the line of "churches pay taxes like everyone else" for L/L+ or "The law severely limits the rights of non-Christians" for C+.)
-
Is religious tollerance even a Conservatism versus Liberalism issue in real life?
Well, a lot of people in politics are just, "Everything is about Christianity fuck you! You can't get married and all religious stuff except for Christian stuff are banned from schools and junk." When the principle did something the state did nothing and the principle was scolded for complaining about, or so he says, nothing defiantly happened to the teacher though.
I beg to differ that it is only Christians who do that. At the Florida Atlantic University, students were told to write the name "Jesus" on a piece of paper, throw it on the ground, and step on it. One boy who refused was belittled, kicked fom the class, and threatened with expulsion. Do you think that the professor would have had them use the name "Muhammed" or "Barack Obama"?
-
That is why I often split Atheism into two categories: Active and Passive Atheism.
But... wow that was... terrible.
So it sort of shows that the largest issue is with the Liberal aspect of religious tolerance and Conservative at the same time.
Since while Conservatism in the cartoonish villain version basically has the church run the state... the Cartoonishly paradise Liberal version however has a split between extreme religious tolerance and eliminating Religion altogether.

Though I am Christian, I fully realize that a state religion is just asking for trouble. Since it isn't just Christians, I propose we have an equal probability of each of these four options:
1) Christianity as state religion. Similar, perhaps, to Europe in the middle ages.
2) Islam as a state religion. Most devout Muslims fit the profile of a Conservative.
3) Antitheism. Similar to Stalin's Russia, all religion is banned.
4) Leader Worship. Worshipping the Prez–for-life.
-
Maybe add a cathedral location, a religious freedom issue, a priest's robes disguise and a bishop as an important conservative. Maybe a useable location, pulpit, which would be like the microphone or stage but use religion as one of the skills.
I had already suggested this...
At L+ it would become the "Non-Denominational Rational Thought Center"...
Also, at C+(+) the president-for-life should become pope of the American Conservative Church.
-
Yep so the other issue is that Conservatives are not asking for church run anything they are asking for freedom of religious expression.
So thus we kind of... destroyed the idea again.
-
Yep so the other issue is that Conservatives are not asking for church run anything they are asking for freedom of religious expression.
So thus we kind of... destroyed the idea again.
IRL? Maybe.
In LCS? I think we can exaggerate a bit.
-
Yes but we cannot make things up.
Do even crazy people think the Conservatives are trying to have church run state?
-

Now, I think a "Religious Discrimination" issue can be used in a different way.
Let's say that, under C+ to L laws, there is an extremist church somewhere (like the Westboro Baptist Church) that is actively spreading hate towards atheists, gays and everything liberal.
The more conservative the "Religious Discrimination" issue, the more violent and crazy become the things they do.
Say, under C+ laws, they would directly attack the LCS and receive support from the government / the CCS / whatever;
Under C laws, they would raid universities and museums (as evolution-promoting organizations);
Under M laws, they would picket funerals of homosexuals (just like the real WBC does);
Under L laws, they would only be able to stand protesting in public spaces or commit minor activities;
Under L+ laws, they'd turn into a normal peaceful church. (At that moment, attacking the church becomes a negative activity.)
-
I like that idea. They also protested the burial of the children that were killed at Connecticut shooting. The Hell's Angels kept them back though.
I also have an idea for some fixes that I think are long overdue. One being that when you apply tasks in bulk, like say activism, the game will suggest causing trouble and volunteering to someone with 19+ computer skill. Another fix/change that could happen is how long it takes before gang members start to show up liberal. You'd think the dregs of society like them would become liberal first. But I have several C and M laws but all the gang members are still Conservative, even though the crack house is one of my bases.
-
Yes but we cannot make things up.
Do even crazy people think the Conservatives are trying to have church run state?
Many liberals, and, hell, even some more moderate conservatives, in real life think exactly that, yes. Not even just extremist hyper-atheists or anything.
So I think it's absolutely reasonable for extremists in the fantasy world of LCS to hold that view.
-
If you implement this, remember to remove the references to god made by liberals when they are near death.
Speaking of ideas, I was thinking about having two slots for weapons, one by each hand.
So, if you want to use a big weapon, like a rifle, it would take both slots because you probably can't fire an ak-47 with one hand.
If you want to use pistols, you could have one by hand. There would be two shoots per turn, but the one with the non dominant hand (let's say the first one is with the dominant hand and the second is with the non dominant or visceversa) would have less accuracy. If you use only one pistol, it should have even more accuracy than the dominant hand one.
If you want to use swords, having two would reduce damage and accuracy. Maybe the accuracy would go up with the sword skill, making using two only a good choice for really good fighters who will probably hit even with the reduced accuracy.
Two knives would have no penalty.
Maybe you could go out with a paint can and a pistol. This would be more realistic.
-
Ok now as for "relevance" what was the last law passed involving Christians gaining more power?
The last I remember it was that they forced them to take down Christian knick knacks out of a government building.
How do you even represent that in the game?
-
If you implement this, remember to remove the references to god made by liberals when they are near death.
Not necessarily. Theocracy =/= oblique, spontaneous references to god.
@Neonivek: There haven't been any recent laws that explicitly gives anyone more power based on religion. But many liberals and conservatives alike would say that most of the conservative ideals are at least somewhat religiously grounded.
"Christian knick knacks" were removed under a liberal law, obviously.
And this is LCS - even if it wasn't grounded in reality - which it sort of is -, we can expect it to be grossly exaggerated, as with every political issue.
-
Yes but we have to blow up political issues, not make them up.
Why don't we have Old Age Pension where the Conservatives kill anyone above the age of 60 and the Liberals allow people to live forever?
That has been said before... But that is somewhat uniconic.
-

We are blowing it up. We're taking a minor background issue and turning it into something ridiculous.
-
Maybe the legality of sexual freedoms could tie into the religious issue, with appropriate social and even governmental punishments at appropriately conservative levels of the issue. At L+, preventive birth control is distributed for free by the government as a public service? At C+ maybe non sexually abstinent and not traditionally married citizens are relegated to a second class citizen through government documentation enabling cultural discrimination on a massive scale? At C this could be left to private institutions with political ties to the policymakers.
It might interfere with the current system though, so maybe just some new crimes to be charged with would work.
-
Alright, so since Foxy is going to add Gun law new papers in the next version, I thought there could be a new location downtown.
Shooting Range.
It would have a starting room like the police station, and another room with exclamation points, that when activated opens a prompt that lets you choose what skill you want to train in, and which liberal in the squad, the room having six, one for each member in the squad. Also a room next to the starting room that needs a disguise, and in there would be random weapons and clips.
Creatures.
All non-unique creatures.
Shooting instructors, random stats, starting skill in random weapons.
Items.
In the back room, weapons and clips.
-
YES. It can be as expensive as hell so it isn't OP, but that would be great
-
I was thinking maybe 0.50 or .25 points in the skill you choose it isn't so OP, and due to the fact most shooting ranger, where I live at least, are free.
-
I was thinking maybe 0.50 or .25 points in the skill you choose it isn't so OP, and due to the fact most shooting ranger, where I live at least, are free.
It would be full of conservatives (including, in all likelihood, cops and CCS thugs), naturally, so there could also be some chance your liberals would get beaten/arrested while there.

Well, only if you start a fight first. And if you're play with the CCS disabled or destroyed them already it could still be filled with hick and rubes.
-
My other thought: why would it be downtown? I would imagine a shooting range would be more likely to be on the outskirts of town, where land is cheap and there are plenty of hicks, rubes, yokels, rednecks, and country boys to use it?
-
Depends on whether it's an indoor or outdoor range. Indoor shooting ranges are possible downtown, while outdoor shooting ranges will naturally be outskirts only. Realistically, a downtown shooting range would probably be handgun only, however.
-
Yeah, that makes sense, an indoor one downtown for pistol and shotgun, and a one of the outskirts for the rest.
-
Yeah, that makes sense, an indoor one downtown for pistol and shotgun, and a one of the outskirts for the rest.
Having two separate gun ranges seems like it would be kind of redundant. though.
-
To tell the truth I live in Canada so there aren't many shooting ranges here, so I have nothing in realism for this.
-
Yeah, that makes sense, an indoor one downtown for pistol and shotgun, and a one of the outskirts for the rest.
I dunno, maybe a Police Academy (possibly part of the Police Department Office?) downtown where the cops train? They'd probably have a pistol range down there.
-
YES. It can be as expensive as hell so it isn't OP, but that would be great
Or we can alter its effects.
For example if it passively trained everyone there in firearms up to a max.

So it's a safehouse upgrade, rather than a visitable location?
-
If i can give a humble suggestion about a new idea for the game..
Maybe contraband could be a good one? things like the movie itself, you buy a boat and go through some places (it could be by water or by land)
You get some stuff to make more money from it so you can spend it in shops later.
-
Hello!
I had a small suggestion, after datenapping too many CIA agents with nothing but a .38 pistol, and not even the skill to back up the threats my character makes, while the one time I got a swordfighter leader with +12 Sword skill always failing to abduct even a lowly cop...
Would it be possible to have datenapping be skill vs skill instead of mostly random?
Like:
Currently equipped weapon roll (Martial arts if unarmed or equipped with a guitar (it is used for musical attacks which I doubt would be useful for datenapping...)) + Martial Arts roll vs Martial Arts roll + Dodge roll?
Also, how about using weapons that would cause psychological effects (i.e. juice loss) and affect public opinion? I would just love to throw cream pies at the CEO or at Hangin' Judges, or, for the suicidal insane Elite Liberal, at the Navy SEAL.... Ideally, you would have one of those per weapon skill, but wouldn't it be damn funny?
Liberal Mc Liberal throws a cream pie at Hangin' Judge!
Hangin' Judge is hit in the head, and will never live it down!
Hangin' Judge is too humiliated to even think of striking back!
My 2 cents.
-
Well, only certain weapons can kidnap people, like guns, other than that no weapons can be used to kidnap people, which is why your founder fails.
-

But swords can kidnap people.

I thought they were tagged as a weapon that can't kidnap. Maybe it fails because-
Their Weapons>Sword

I'm pretty sure knives can be used to kidnap.
-
Thing is AFAIK, when datenapping (Seduction a conservative, then kidnapping him) dangerous targets (like agents), only guns and heavy weapons work, while someone unarmed but with 20+ Martial Arts skill who can kill soldiers bare handed cannot abduct an agent who followe dhim/her on a date with his bare hands...
-
Well, only certain weapons can kidnap people, like guns, other than that no weapons can be used to kidnap people, which is why your founder fails.
I suggested before that characters with high strength should at least have a chance of threatening/kidnapping, regardless of what weapon they have ("Who needs guns when you're rocking these guns?").

Maybe, Arch-Conservative lightning round!
Where the CCS starts off extremely strong, all supreme court members are Conservative, all the members of the house and senate are Arch-Conservative, and none of them can change until at least one law is changed to Conservative, as well as the LCS has only one year until the constitution is repealed.

For me the game doesn't need a even harder start mode then it got until its parabolic difficulty is in place.
The largest issue with Nightmare mode is that it doesn't take much (In fact due to how the game works, it takes nothing) to just pulverize America back to sanity.
It would be interesting if some aspects of the C+ start couldn't be so easily removed.
For example if Hit squads weren't immediately disbanded they had to be specifically removed by congress, if mutants didn't disappear until L+ because the world was polluted.
Actually now that I think about it... Just that. The idea of lasting consequences to make Nightmare mode more remembered even when you stomp on it.
-
The DS is one of the real challenges to Nightmare Mode. Mutant availability is one of the perks. Prolonging both might be a fair trade, but I'm not sure I'd go for it.
Maybe having critters whose age puts them as growing up during C+ Labor Laws (therefore, they may have been Child Workers) have lower Intelligence and higher Wisdom could be a way to show lasting effects of C+ society?

Some ranges, BTW, have fancy toys. REALLY fancy toys.
One near my University has this to offer: "Full-Auto Gun Rentals Include: AR-15 full-auto and 3rd burst, H&K MP5, H&K G36, H&K UMP 40, H&K UMP 45, Kriss Vector, UZI, Micro Galil, Styer AUG"

I'm slightly disturbed that I recognize most of those as names on sight as belonging to various assault rifles, submachine guns, and machine pistols. I'm a pacifist who has never fired a gun in his life. But I make and play video games about people with guns, and that makes all the difference.

Another concern is that you're liable to infringe on a lot of copyright and trademarks.
Only trademark, and at least in the US it is fair use to use a trademark nominatively -- that is, to identify the brand. So LCS includes names like "MP5" and "AR-15" and "AK-47", but it uses them in reference to the trademarked brand. It's like, you can sell an AK-47, and you can call it that, but you can't call your home-made knockoff an AK-47. It would be a genuine infraction if the game were implying through the use of MP5 that it was sponsored by Heckler & Koch, or trying to sell a different product under the name AK-47, but that's not the case; we're only using the name to say "In the game's fiction, you have the option of buying a MP5 SMG." Intuitively, that doesn't feel wrong, and at least in the US, it's legally protected.
It's like an author writing about a guy who works in a Coca-Cola factory -- even if it paints Coca-Cola in a bad light, even if it's fictional, even if the author could have written the story about a fictional soda brand, it's not inappropriate because it's using the Coca-Cola trademark to identify the actual brand by name. Now, if the title of the book were done up to look like the Coca-Cola branding and gave the impression that the book were sponsored by Coca-Cola, that would be different. But we're not doing anything like that; we're just naming some in-game guns as explicit references to the real-world guns by the same name. That is using a trademark someone else owns, but it's using it correctly, respectfully, and in a way that is consistent with the law.

Heh. Gun nut is pretty much in my username- ten being 10mm Auto.
In any case, these guns are clearly made to kill people and do it really well; I would not go hunting with them as they are unwieldy, even the semi-automatic models, so I have to agree with Jonathan with regards to that.
I would have lots of things to say about this, but I won't. This isn't a political forum.
It's good to know that those guns aren't outlawed everywhere.
NFA law in this country (US) works like this: as it stands now, so long as your state hasn't outlawed them, automatics have never been illegal to own, only taxed. There is a registry, and that registry was closed in 1986. That means that there are a few hundred thousand automatic weapons in the country, but only those produced before 1986. It costs 200 dollars for a tax stamp, and several thousand because of the price inflation that's happened over the years. http://www.machinegunpriceguide.com/html/price_guides.html (http://www.machinegunpriceguide.com/html/price_guides.html) this link should help with prices, if you're interested.
TO get to the point, I've always considered this to be the Conservative state of the country in LCS (for what happens beyond the game's scope). In C+, the registry is repealed, and automatics are deregulated. In M, ownership is not banned, but government sanctioned buybacks happen. You can guess what happens at L and L+.
Still, as I said in another topic, from a game design point of view there is absolutely no reason to introduce more guns to the game. Another concern is that you're liable to infringe on a lot of copyright and trademarks.
I never said anything about introducing guns to the game. Someone suggested adding the Range to the game, I chimed in with what they might have available for rentals at some ranges: Pistols, revolvers, Subguns, modern sporting rifles, and assault rifles.

My opinion of the gun range is that, regardless of the price, it will be ridiculously overpowered. If you can train your libs with combat skills without combat, then you can send them in with incredible skill. I realize that it would make sense, but it would unbalance the game.
Speaking of state gun laws, the Constitution specifies that anything not mentioned therein (I.e., welfare, fishing laws, etc.) is either the domain of the states or the people. But guns, and the free carriage thereof, are mentioned in the Bill of Rights.
-

You have a really good point. Shooting paper at a range is not going to get you very far. What if the gun range got Liberals up to 3 points, maximum? I feel that's fair and representative of what one can learn at a range- sight picture, a few drills and techniques, and the weekly IPSC/IDPA match, which gives you a faint taste of what combat is like (it won't).
The one place where I feel one would progress higher is 3-gun matches. If you've never seen one, it gets pretty intense. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqB55Sl-F1A (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqB55Sl-F1A)
Unfortunately, Liberals would never, ever fit in here. Imagine all the disguise rolls... The level of specificity here is not at all appropriate for LCS, I feel. Besides, you still don't get people shooting at you.
The other option is sending liberals away for classes. This gets pretty expensive. http://vickerstactical.com/training-by-larry-vickers/carbine-courses/ (http://vickerstactical.com/training-by-larry-vickers/carbine-courses/)
I actually like this idea... hmmm. New NPC, NRA Range Safety Officer who has points in teaching and a random firearm skill, and will accept ~1500 dollars to fly a liberal out to get exclusive training for three days. Has a chance to raise wisdom? Only nets you a +1 to skill, up to a max of 6?
RECAP:
Range shouldn't let liberals progress past 3pts in any firearm skill.
Introduce new NPC with range, NRA Range Safety Officer?
-

Introduce new NPC with range, NRA Range Safety Officer?
My first intuition is that the range should just be a menu-based location, like the business district sites (so no NPCs), but second thought makes me reconsider. It's an obvious place to attack for the Gun Control issue.
I agree entirely with limiting how far you can advance your skills, but I don't mind it being powerful as a way to skip early levels; training seems like a perfectly reasonable and intelligent strategy for making sure you're sending your squad out knowing something. I don't mind shaking up the balance of the game a bit, or introducing new best strategies; for example, the teaching mechanic in the game now is very overpowered -- you can make elite soldiers with zero combat experience -- but I don't think it's making the game less fun in the process, so I'm not really concerned about it.
-
That reminds me of something someone else suggested a little while ago. Skill trickle down. Where getting a skill-up in one weapons skill helps other skills a little, I think it go like this.
Heavy Weapons: Rifle.
Rifle: SMG. Shotgun.
SMG: Pistol.
Pistol: SMG.
I think that for every on skill-up, they should get like 0.50 points to the weapons skill that would be effected by the skill.
-

Cataclysm has generic Firearms & Melee skills that support this concept: using the relevant attack boosts both the specific (Pistol/Unarmed, for instance) and the general skill; however, the general skill isn't as effective as the specific.
Direct effects seem fairly powerful by comparison, and I'm thinking that some of them don't necessarily fit as well. Shotgun/Rifle cross-pollinating might work; SMG and Pistol are distinctly different with the basic guns (the MP5 has a stock, whether fixed or retractable; handguns don't, and the .44/.38 are revolvers anyway so the recoil force should be substantially different).
Perhaps have cross-pollination cap at 2 or somesuch, similar to the proposed firing range?

But pistols and SMG, like the Uzi (that isn't in the game) and pistols have similar handling and shapes. But I guess MP5's and pistols don't really work the same so maybe it doesn't work.
I don't really see the point of cross pollinating skills if it only gets it to such a low number. I average agility, and max skill for guns, is about 19, I find, at 1000 juice. That would be 9.50 rifle skill roughly, not to high compared to 19 rifle skill, and the boost would help when they run out of ammo at places where SMGs are plentiful, like the prison where you can get MP5's from dead guards.
-
I had an idea. When you go to the prison, theres three floors, representing the level of security they were in. On the top floor is supposed to be Death Row, I was thinking there could be a tile where you go into death row and smash it up, the equipment used is based on the laws.
The Liberal breaking into death row and smash all the gallows and guillotine they can find.
The Liberals break into death row and destroys the electric chairs inside.
The Liberals break into death row and breaks the poison injector.
The Liberals break into death row and gets rid of anything they may have used on the rare occasions they killed someone.
The Liberals break into what used to be death row and get rid of any evidence they can find that there even used to be a death row.

1. I think it would be a cool idea if every once in a while there was a "Health" roll to see if someone gets sick or an "Agility" check to see if someone gets hurt while doing stuff. Meaning at random times a prompt that says something like-
"Green Warrior hasn't been taking care of himself and has a heart attack!"
-that. And if they pass the "Health" roll, a prompt shouldn't pop up, and failing an "Agility" roll would look like-
"Green Warrior fell down so stairs and broke some bones!"
-this, with some more prompts of course, and some comical ones of course, it IS LCS.
2. I always though fighting in LCS was a little cut and dry, so the idea of guns being able to jam came into my mind, a few updates ago actually, I just never brought it up. I think that it would be cool if swords could get dull after a while, and they would need to go have the blade sharpened.
3. Something I never liked is that bodies just stay in your safehouses forever, I think that after a while that bodies should decompose, making it so when cops raid a safehouse and find the bodies, they can't tell who, so the liberal above them doesn't lose juice. But so its not so OP they should only decompose very slowly.
4. I always found that healing liberals in the safehouse with no special room was a little unrealistic. If you removed a bullet from someone's body in just any old room, theres a very big chance that the wound would get infected, so I though of an option to buy a special room under the safehouse menu, but since safehouse upgrades can seem expensive at the beginning, where fighters are most likely to get hurt while trying skills, I think it should only make healing faster in that safehouse.
5. I know Im not the first person to suggest this and I probably won't be the last, but I like the idea of gambling in LCS. I had two ideas for this though, two different ways to do it. One way being an active via the action menu, the other being a special location on the edge of town. I also think there should be a skill for it, as well as an option in the begining of the game to help get a skill boost at the start of the game.
6. One thing Ive been thinking, but seemed WAY to over-powered, are ways for you to train your special skills like strength, agility, etc. I can't remember all the special skills at the moment, so I can't really give ideas on what would make them improve, but Ill try to remember to get back to this.
7. I think it would be a cool idea if female liberals could get pregnant during prostitution, and based on juice they weould either stay or leave the LCS. And if abortion laws are Liberal enough, they could get an abortion as well, but they have to have a certain amount of heart to actually go through with an abortion for the LCS. But, if they don't get an abortion, after 9 months where the liberal could do pretty much nothing but sit around, you would gain a 0 y/o liberal with no skills, and no actions until they get old enough to do stuff.
8. Kind of similar to that, I think there should be a way to adopt animals, like dogs and cats, and if polution and nuclear laws are at C+ you should be able to adopt, expensive, genetic monsters. But I also think that at C+ animal rights, it should be a place where people go to torture and beat animals for fun, and you can rescue animals from there. I think to do that, it should be a map where you could buy into an area behind a locked door, where cages are, and free them from there. But after at least C laws, you should be able to go back there for free and choose what animals you want to adopt.
9. Another cool thing I think that could be done, is that at C+ gun laws, you could be able to buy REALLY expensive tanks from the car dealership.
So, this is a list of ideas I had in the past, some of which were discussed and some of which that were actually left in the dust. Since I fear it will pop up again, I still don't see what the pregnancy thing has to do with feminism, and Id rather keep that discussion down, not only that but Fox said he couldn't see himself using it, I just wanted to bring this list back as a whole.
I had the idea for legal money making.
You could have someone go out and teach a political science class, and you gain money based on Teaching and Persuation. While also gaining money, it would also help with liberal mood if done well enough.
So, looking back I also had another idea, I think it wasn't discussed enough, and I still think it could be a good thing to put into LCS.
-
I had an idea.
I'd object to the last one. The LCS doesn't want people to forget that there was a death row, they want it weighing on the conscience of everybody in the country. That's why at L+ nuclear laws, sabotaging the nuclear waste facility releases it into the water supply, not keeps it far away from everybody.
-
Maybe something like this?
The Liberal Crime Squad breaks into what used to be death row and executes a criminal and records it, then spreads the videos all over.
And then people would like the LCS less like when you drop toxic waste in the water.

First of all, hello to everybody in the forums.
There are 3 things that i feel will make the game a lot faster and more fun to play
A) Options in the persuasion/seduction menus that say:
1)Talk to this person until able to recruit (with props or not)
2)Talk to this person until you have nothing to learn from their expert knowledge (everything they have over 4) (props or not again)
3)Go after until seduced (money, no money, repeat vacations)
and don't interrupt the game again for those meetings unless they fail or recruit/seduce
B)An option to hide or show hacking/ clothes making/ clothes repair
C)A wait for the rest of the month option.(unless siege or arrest attempt or elections)
-
B)An option to hide or show hacking/ clothes making/ clothes repair
I would like to expand on this and say that an option to stop newspaper articles from appearing would be swell, as if one wants lots of time to pass quickly, newspapers sop you form just holding down w.

While we are at it, assigning M for the sleeper menu should be pretty easy, and it would stop you from going 2 steps back when you hold b for meetings to train persuasion. I would like a mechanic that would stop you from training persuasion to 20 from meetings with crackheads , but that is another issue altogether and maybe not worth it.

Problem if the Newspaper pollutes the public's mind with Wisdom!!!. (As in, Pro-reagan book, trendy fashions, New Jobs, etc.) Oppose.

What about allowing you to clear newspapers with any key, rather than just space/enter/escape?

More like that.
-
What about allowing you to clear newspapers with any key, rather than just space/enter/escape?
Would it be possible to make it option, though?
So you wouldn't have to?
-
How about like a preferences file? I'd like to be able to skip newspapers and voting and elections with 'w' during my first decade of training.
When it's time for my liberals to mobilize, I'd like to then turn these options on again.
-
What about allowing you to clear newspapers with any key, rather than just space/enter/escape?
That'll work.
-
A simple thing I'd like is the ability to bring up the budget or pull up the last news event in case you spun past it by accident.
Oh, and also a "yes to all" option for dates and meetings.
When the whole team is booked solid for meetings and dates, it would be really convenient to say "B to all meetings today" and then "A to all dates today".
Alternatively, an "E) Play it the same as yesterday (Bob did X last time)" for followup meetings/dates.

The proposed alternative was to make it so we can skip through newspapers using the 'w' key.
-

I try to only introduce options when there's a compelling and interesting choice to be made between the two. My intuition is that this sort of thing isn't really significant enough to be worth having an option over either way...
How about like a preferences file? I'd like to be able to skip newspapers and voting and elections with 'w' during my first decade of training.
When it's time for my liberals to mobilize, I'd like to then turn these options on again.
...are you saying that, after you mobilize your liberals, you still want to be able to hold down w, but this time you want to be interrupted by news stories?
Another thought to put forward: Alternate key that can be used to clear interrupts (elections, news stories). W to wait is the normal one, Z to hibernate/sleep (possibly not listed) will bypass news stories and elections as well. Z is currently "next location", but I can always remap that to N.
-
We're all focusing on the big stuff here for some reason. Newspapers, elections and budgets I would all consider important enough to merit forcing you to look at them, if only briefly.
What I'm not so keen about is having to review every article of clothing made, every public spectacle created, every discussion of someone going with the squad instead of working on the assigned task...
-

I've cut and consolidated a fair number of those messages over the years; you don't get ones for credit card fraud or prostitution, for example. The ones I've left in have been because they serve an important purpose. It's important to enumerate the clothing made to give feedback on the quality of their work, and to let you work only until you have a first rate item, if you choose. The public disturbances are consolidated into a single message if you have multiple activists in order to reduce message spam, but eliminating them completely would turn Liberal Disobedience into a flavorless option that might as well be cut entirely.
The notifications about going with the squad instead of working on the assigned task are important as a way to ensure players learn the game; without it, not everyone would understand that assigning an activity overrides sending the squad out. That might seem obvious to you, but that's just because you already know it works that way. New players may not. The bother of this message is also mitigated by the fact that it doesn't happen when you're holding w -- it's just a couple messages when you're actively playing.

Curious what messages were cut for Prostitution. I've assigned Liberals the duty and wondered why they don't seem to accomplish anything, etc. Since then I've learned via forum/wiki that Prostituting only works every third day (for reasons unknown--no other activity works on an odd schedule) and the Juice hit apparently only takes place 50% of the time or so on an actual working day.
This information was not obvious from the game itself. Respectfully suggest that more/restored messages may be worthwhile.

If I remember correctly, the prostitution message was something like "Liberal McLiberal made $25 working as a prostitute today".
Less sexy than you were hoping for, no? :P
-
No, not really. Would be nice to have something like "Gauche LeLiberal couldn't seduce any tricks today" or "Link von Liberal was submissive for his $25 and lost Juice". (Or whatever the rationale for Juice loss was.)

I'd simply like to have a way to change the way the game responds to our inputs in a settings file.
Like a .ini file that has a bunch of variable to turn off and on certain ways the prompt runs?
#skip all announcements
#'w' Key fast forwards elections, voting, etc.
#Don't display newspapers
#Don't display elections
Stuff like that?
-
Maybe it could be something like,
"Green Warrior went into into and alley with someone today and came out 25$"
<Jboy Equips GIMP Suit>
Shit wrong key.
-
There was also "X gives it up for 17$!"
-

Maybe something like this?

And then people would like the LCS less like when you drop toxic waste in the water.
Just bringing these back to be discussed.
-
I thought some of those were dealt with already. Anyway:
1) Random, practically-unavoidable damage only frustrates the player. Oppose.
2) Maintenance sounds fun but adds more micromanagement. Not sure whether people would like it. Marginal Oppose.
3) Decomposing bodies would probably raise Heat if there wasn't some facility to handle them, such as a Woodchipper. Indifferent.
4) Was discussed in detail early on in this thread. Indifferent.
5) No opinion.
6) It is overpowered and defeats the Mutants' niche. Strongly Oppose.
7) No. We already covered that and all it does is make female Liberals require more micromanagement, thereby devaluing them as LCS members. Strongly Oppose.
8) Already discussed. Support.
9) C+ covers heavy weapons, not mobile artillery. Oppose.
Death row: I'd really rather the LCS not Murder someone just to prove a point. Staging a mock execution of one of the Squad members (who knows it's fake, to be clear) ought to work as well and not require hauling in a Prisoner to die for political points.
-
I know, I just said that I thought most of them were discussed enough, if at all. When they release nuclear waste into the water that can endanger and kill thousands, I don't see why killing why person could be considered bad, and you can kill thousands on your own to.
-
Regarding that list:
1. No. That would be incredibly annoying.
2. " "
3. Maybe, but there should also be some detriment to keeping the bodies around. Maybe it would affect the morale of liberals stationed there.
4. Indifferent.
5. Could be interesting, and you could potentially make an issue out of it, but it could also wind up being a useless dumb-luck test if done poorly.
6. I agree. It doesn't have to be overpowered. Strength and agility, in particular, should go up slowly just by using theoretically related skills - swinging a sword or shooting a heavy gun would boost strength, successfully dodging should boost agility a little as well as specifically dodge. There could also be a gym or something where you could go, similar to the university or proposed shooting range. But there should be a proportional maximum on skill increases. There should also be a way to lose base skills like those, similarly with a proportional minimum.
7. By that logic you would also have to add that heterosexual romantic endeavors, and add the whole child-raising dimension, which would just be too complicated and doesn't really fit with the game.
8. Would be interesting, particularly considering what you could do with the animals, like train your own happy well-treated liberal guard dogs to rival the conservative ones.
9. No. But you should be able to steal a tank from the army base and ride out with it. I suggested that before.
-
I think internal hits ($ORGAN hit) can reduce permanent Health, and losing both Eyes does tend to crimp stats. Actually being any more than Lightly Wounded severely crimps your stats. Losing stats from inactivity seems an annoying maintenance requirement.
Riding an M1 Abrams out implies a hella lot of Heat.
Re nuclear waste v. extrajudicial execution: Noted, though I'm at a loss for who would ever actually release the nuclear waste. About the only reason I can think of for doing so would be "player not realizing what they were doing". Grabbing a Prisoner and executing xyr just for a demo seems similarly self-defeating. Would certainly involve losing Juice/gaining Wisdom (as happens when executing a Conservative Automaton).
As for killing thousands in site actions, fine, if you're that sort of LCS. Even those sorts of Rampages tend to be hot-blooded kills so Juice/Wisdom stays intact. I'm a middling sort of LCS myself, and my killing piles of CCS & Firemen happens because they're going to kill civilians, LCS personnel, and/or LCS peaceful political advocacy (no, you can't burn our Printing Press & evidence).

Suggestion: allow a single liberal to reload, or have liberals autoreload when they're out of ammo. At the moment you have to reorder your squad constantly to avoid wasting tonnes of ammo.
Related ammo management stuff: have a button to fully load up all liberals in the squad, allow ammo pooling
-
Id also like if when people ran out of clips they'd automatically take nine new clips from the supply you have.
-
I came up with a rather general idea: what if you could try, with varying success, to blame other groups or individuals for certain crimes? Or dress the liberals up in CCS uniforms to trick people into thinking the CCS was responsible? I'd imagine it might be a hit to their heart, having to pretend to be conservatives, and obviously it couldn't be too easy.

I was just thinking that while raiding the Park with a squad wearing Heavy Ceramic and carrying AA-12 Shotguns (the standard equip for a CCS leader.)
-
That would be a little OP considering you could make the CCS do suicide runs which further hurts their reputation.
-
Alright, I have a few more now that Ive been away.
1. In places it shows how your liberals are going around, either on foot or in a wheelchair. I think it would be cool if there were more "vehicles" you can use on location. Like roller skates, bikes and thinks, and if you had one it'd give you another roll for dodging attacks when you run away from a group based on agility, and boosts in the roll like cars give.
2. Similarly, with the wheelchair, Id like to see more disabilities, like liberals going blind and having the need a service dog, and in a fight the dog attacks for them. For an added funny maybe they can get "Chick head" and the chicken will sometimes attack others (Either the infected person, another liberal, or someone on the same square.).
3. When you go to the police station, there could be an evidence locker, which you can break into similar to the safes on the outskirts. Except when you break in, it does something different, one of two things. Either take a few random charges off a random liberal, or remove some heat off the safe house the liberals came from. However, this would get the liberal a charge of "Tampering with evidence."
4. When in court there is a chance of your liberal having an outburst on the judge and the court, gaining the liberal an automatic guilty verdict, but an extra month in the court house, for simplicity, while being held for contempt.
-
Alright, I have a few more now that Ive been away.
That rhymes.
I'm not sure how site vehicles would work. Don't most buildings have policies against riding bikes and roller skates? Also, this may be because I'm super clumsy in real life, but I can't picture any attempt at bullet dodging on roller blades ending in anything other than falling on one's ass.
I do like the idea of using bicycles to travel between sites, though. If fact having bicycles equipped as the squad vehicle should give them a bonus when escaping from a safehouse siege. Currently, the LCS has to escape from a siege on foot, implying access to their cars was blocked off. Bicycles, however, could be stored inside the safehouse, allowing the squad to just grab them on the way out.
I'm not quite sure what you mean by "Chick Head", but I like the seeing eye dog idea. Not sure how it would work, but the game can always use more dogs.
3. When you go to the police station, there could be an evidence locker, which you can break into similar to the safes on the outskirts. Except when you break in, it does something different, one of two things. Either take a few random charges off a random liberal, or remove some heat off the safe house the liberals came from. Yes. I have nothing to add, except to say that this idea is awesome.
4. When in court there is a chance of your liberal having an outburst on the judge and the court, gaining the liberal an automatic guilty verdict, but an extra month in the court house, for simplicity, while being held for contempt.
I'm not sure if there would be a benefit to this. Perhaps it's something that could only affect Liberals with low Juice? Surely proper Liberals would be too well bred for this sort of thing.
EDIT: Apparently that doesn't rhyme after all. :(
-
Its a really old reference no one will probably ever get. Its an "illness" that a character got in a show call "Invader Zim."
-
I'm not sure how site vehicles would work. Don't most buildings have policies against riding bikes and roller skates?
Most buildings also have policies against vandalism, theft, burglary, breaking and entering, assault, kidnapping, arson, murder and other Liberal activities.
2. Similarly, with the wheelchair, Id like to see more disabilities, like liberals going blind and having the need a service dog, and in a fight the dog attacks for them.
Actually, there is at least one task that requires vision, and the game will issue appropriate remarks if you bring a blind person instead.
However, I believe blindness is rare because it requires hits to the head, which have a fairly good chance of killing the victim outright.
-
Or maybe a hit from a, newly implemented, flashbang? If one were to be added. Or maybe an exploding battery?
-

And those activities set off the alarm. Or at least make area Conservatives "suspicious". Though I suppose zipping around the courthouse on a skateboard could make Conservatives suspicious in the same way that Liberal nudity does.

Same thing could go for skateboarding in certain buildings. Isn't "Skateboarding is a crime!" a very Conservative slogan? ;D

New Skateboarding Issue!
C+ Owning a skateboard is punishable by death.
C Skateboarding is illegal
M Skateboarding is prohibited in most public spaces
L Skateboarding is encouraged as a healthy mode of transportation
L+ Skateboards are given right-of-way over all other modes of transport

You know, L+ is supposed to be ironically good.
Not, terrible.
-
Ironically terrible is part of it, too.

How about Skateboard ramps are required by law in all buildings.
It is ironically good without the "No more cars" which doesn't work at all and is logically backwards especially since LCS takes place in a city that has been decentralized.
It is too silly in other words.

I'm not sure if I like this idea, but I could see Public versus Private transportation being a cool issue.
C+ = Cars are limited to a maximum of 10mpg by law. Public transportation is an oxymoron. Bikes/Skateboards are outlawed. (At this level ,Traffic is so bad, driving checks are penalized in cities for both persuers and persuees, with crashes being far more likely)
C = Cars have no emission standards. Bikes/Skateboards are extremely unpopular. Publc transport exists only in major cities and is almost universally privatized (and very expensive).
N = Vehicles have nominal emission standards. Public transportation is somewhat subsidized. Some people ride their bikes to work, but its mostly couriers.
L = Car and road taxes are common in major cities. Public transport is heavily subsidized, as is buying bikes/skateboards. Bike sharing programs in major cities. (At this level, escaping city locations by car spawns additional chasing units due to decreased response times and reduced traffic, but crashes are less likely for all involved)
L+ = By law, public transportation goes nearly everywhere and it is free. Private vehicles are banned downtown, require monthly emission checks and and are so heavily taxed no one owns one. (At this level, police/government responses are faster, and escaping spawns twice as many persuers. Also, you can go to "outside the city" locations without a car)
I really like this idea, but I'd say if you break in you can either
A - Screw with the evidence, which decreases public opinion on the police and law and order in general. This should give you significant bonuses to courtroom defenses.
B - Steal stuff, which raises heat a TON. Randomly acquire money, drugs (count as valuable good you can pawn), stolen property (random, but usually valuables) or weapons (random, could be anything).
4. When in court there is a chance of your liberal having an outburst on the judge and the court, gaining the liberal an automatic guilty verdict, but an extra month in the court house, for simplicity, while being held for contempt.
Maybe not an outburst, but I like the idea this as a possible critical fail for a "Defend Yourself" if you don't have enough law. It should probably give some Juice as well, since this is the sort of thing that tends to get picked up by news.

I think it would be cool if low heart members of the squad could succumb to the conservative dollars and then sell out your hideout and possibly tip off the police about your next target so they could ambush the squad

That rhymes.
Wait, how does that rhyme?
