I wonder what would have happened if you had opened the floodgates, and the water and lava met...
-
They should have met, but both fluids just went spewing into the chasm rather than meeting.
It's still running, and the chasm bottom has started turning red.
-
Thanks to you, I now have another, better way of killing off unwanted immigrants.
-
A lava moat would be awesome, although more "Evil villain"-ish than dwarvish
-
Heh, I was thinking of how some folks would flood the outside world with water.
Now imagine doing that with Lava. Mwahahahaaa!
-
This aqueduct problem seems to be a relatively new feature, since I've gotten outside lava floors to work prior to the first release. I'll try to handle that soon, since it's fun, and it's disappointing after all the work you have to do to set it up. Hello to penny arcade, or perhaps they are all here already...
-
Yup, been playing this for a week after spotting it on the PA forums, and thanks for a great new twist on Roguelikes.
Curse you for stealing all my spare waking hours though! *shakes fist menacingly!*

Indeed, glad to be here! You've created an amazing game Toady, awesome work.
Also, nice Synth, I didn't even think of trying to channel Lava.
-
It was an accident!
-
does lava go through floodgates?
if that works, you'd have an infinite source of obsidian.
-
I'm not sure if channel lava leaves it behind... it's hard to remember.
It turns out a save fuzzpilz sent earlier has an aqueduct system set up already (and it doesn't work there either), so this should be fast to test and fix now. I've also got bridge paralysis on a few saves and should get that soon.
-
I've got flows mostly fixed now. There's some issues with aqueducts going over water filling with water, and doors randomly killing/restarting lava flows (it looked like Life for a while), but you'd get to do most of what you want to do at this point.
One bridge problem was caused by rocks being selected that aren't accessible from the bridge. This is an interface issue. One of the other ones I'm not sure about, might be related.
