It's time for the Bay12 forums to voice their opinion. Which show is best? Why did you answer the way you did? Where are the strongest/weakest points of each show?
-
I never seen the regular show
But by seeing clips of both... I am going to go for Adventure time.
The regular show, from what little I've seen, seems like the sort of humor I don't like (Ghost busters humor).
-
I liked Adventure Time originally, but the fan base I grew to dislike along with the general direction in which the show was going. I prefer Regular Show now, personally.
-
I'd like to know more. What are both shows, and are both fanbases enjoying it high?
-
Regular Show is okay, but it can't hold a candle to Adventure Time.

Trying to describe them isdifficult. It's easier to just watch them. You can either find them on the internet somewhere, or check them out on Cartoon Network.
-
Wait, is cartoon network redeeming itself to the days of my youth?
-
These two are certainly a good start. I thought they might have had it before with Chowder, but it wasn't consistently good. Still worth checking out, though.
-
Regular Show, Regular Show... was that the one with the rabbit family and the fish?
Because if so, Adventure Time. Best postapocalyptic landscape I've seen in a while.
-
Regular Show is cool but a lot of things piss me off there, and Adventure Time is wonderful, like, the best cartoon that ever happened. Cool interplay of childlike and mature themes. Definitely Adventure Time.
-
Regular show because, of what I've seen of Adventure Time, it didn't suit my interests. I hate the naïve.

Hah
HAHA
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I don't have cable TV anymore. Haven't had it since... 2 years ago?
-
Adventure Time, hands down. Regular Show is still better than all the post-Boomerang tripe combined though.

Regular Show doesn't impress me much. Every episode is basically the same, just a small variation on one of a handful of themes recycled over and over again. (Oh my god! The video game came alive! And then we were sucked into another dimension for a while! How could we possibly have anticipated that there would be drastic consequences for our laziness!) And the characters remind me of all the teenagers and young adults who irritate me daily.
I don't live in the US and don't have TV, so I was introduced to Adventure Time by seeing it mentioned on Pendleton Ward's twitter (I've read his comics for ages) and seeing an episode online. I fell in love with it immediately, and quickly discovered how much more amazing it was under certain influences which needn't be named.
Shortly after watching the episode "Death in Bloom" (where they visit the underworld and dorky skeletons try to eat their skin) I was informed that it is meant to be a children's show. At first I didn't believe it. Is this really intended for children? I knew it was on Cartoon Network, but I had assumed from the start that it was one of the Adult Swim shows, like 12 oz Mouse (which is still dear to my heart all these years later). I don't think children could possibly enjoy this show in the way adults can. If this is what kids are watching now, so many years before their inevitable introduction to drugs, I can't imagine what the next generation of adults is going to be like once they reach my age... How on earth would your brain develop with that kind of stimulus being fed into it? Maybe one day actual drugs won't be necessary... Everyone's brains will be wired into a permanent acid trip from years of watching these kinds of cartoons...
Anyway, yaayyyyy Adventure Time!

Yeah, this is basically why Regular Show is inferior. The "fuck it lets laze off" attitude of whole show reminds me of Poland and pisses me off and depresses me so its difficult to watch.
