So, bit of background. Around a year ago I got drunk and kissed/fondled a german friend. I then confessed to my girlfriend, who got mad and made me promise never to speak to that girl again.
Fast forward one year, and I've found the Master of my dreams in Göttingen, so I break my promise and ask that friend if she knows anyone there, to get a feel for the city. Soon afterward, I get a really angry girlfriend yelling at me for talking to the german girl.
My girlfriend maintain she didn't access my account, I don't see any other way she could have known. So is there another way, or is she just lying?

I suggest changing you Facebook password.And possibly you Email password since you get updates from facebook over there.

Nope, didn't talked to her. And I just did change both passwords.

It could be possible the friend in question may have mentioned you to one of her friends who mentioned it to your girlfriend, or blah blah blah blah blah. Social networks are funny.

I get her reasoning (and, in her place, would have been far more punishing), but it is a bit possessive, yeah. What, so just banning this one specific girl fixes your boyfriend's drunken sleaze nature?
OP: Do you have any alternate other points of access to facebook chat except your computer? Phone, instant messenger, anything like that? Kind of doubt you're girlfriend's a five-star mega-hacker who breached the Facebook database servers, so unless you "liked" one of the girl's posts or something, accessing your account is definitely the only way to see your chat history.

You don't have to be FB friends with someone to message them.

And yeah, we're still friend on FB. I don't really get her motivations for this. But yeah, I guess she must have been lying then, I'll just change all my passwords and never let my computer unattended again.

Oh, didn't know you could do more than friend requests without being friends. My bad. But, yes, password changes are a good idea, as is password-protecting your account on your computer. Leaving it unattended should be fine, though. You definitely can't read another user's messages, unless it's part of a conversation you were a part of at some point in the past.

Also not breaking people's trust is nice. Sounds like neither of you trusts the other, at this point.
