ok so today i had a 6 year old dwarf fall unconscious and during diagnosis it said the dwarf had suffered from a cerebral stroke and fallen unconscious, is there anything to solve this or do i just have a dwarf laying in my weapon stockpile for good... speaking of that, i noticed that some dwarves with the new diseases do not get taken to rest like they should and eventually suffer from some affliction without ever being diagnosed

The kid is a vegetable, let him go. Or feed him for years upon end. Or feed him to something, thats quicker.
-
ok seems an unfortunate accident is about to happen
-
I just absolutely love the fact that we have vegetable Dwarves.
-
That reminds me about this "random god of death" idea... with a 1% chance of a random death every year. I never modded that in.
-
so dwarfy mcvegetable ended up being killed by a very well placed bucket of water and an ice mephit adjacent to him
-
Tell me more. :) How did you set that up?
-
you could use the dwarf in a reaction. someone mentioned a golem forge.
-
No, you cant. Because he is asleep constantly, he cant do any jobs. And only the active worker is made into a golem.

I feel that DF already has this. I remember when one of my brave orcs falling in battle, being rescued, and spending a month slipping in and out of unconsciousness in the hospital. When she finally awoke to find her wounds tended to, she went back into military service, the enemy still lurked outside the gates.
Not long after, she was on a missing to displace a small number of humans that were camping near the raider's dock. She dealt with them admirably, and then rather than returning to the safety of the camp walls, she instead goes charging across the map, directly into the drow invasion force camped well to the west, while the rest of her squad returned home.
Surprised, I looked at the units display. "Seeking missing infant", it read. Then I recalled that yes, she had a child, and yes, it was carried into battle when she first fell.
My brave orc plunges into the amassed forces of the drow. Despite taking many wounds, she continues her trail of carnage with parental fury. However she dodged too close to the edge of a pond, losing her footing and slipping in. The drow surrounded her, and yet she still sliced at their ankles, before a spear strike to the head knocked her out for good.
Amazed by the single-mindedness she had in rescuing her child, I checked to see its location.
It was in the dining hall, admiring an engraving of a mole-weasel. Nobody had told her that her child had been rescued from the preceding fray...

Hey, that explains it. Mostly it's been suffocation, so I blamed it on warpstone gas or invisible necromancer. Learning every day.

Wait, what? I said I never implemented that. Its just an idea... there are no random deaths in the game atm.

I love a game that you can't tell if losing is a bug or a feature.
-
Well, no one ever claimed that there is anything to win in DF. ;)

ok so this how i managed to get dwarfy mcvegetable to die, i removed the stockpile he was laying in and i set it up as a pen pasture, i had lost a dwarf earlier that same day due to me flooding my pastures where my mephits were... he was trapped in ice when the water touched the ice mephit, so i thought place ice mephits around mcvegetable then burrowed out the floor above him, set that as a pit/pond and had dwarves dump water till he froze into a wall of ice
-
That is so nice. I didnt knew that you can freeze flying 1/7 water out of a bucket. :)
-
its more the standing water when it touches the mephit itself, so once the water was on the floor and the mephit was adjacent to it, the water froze
