Heya! I think this is the right place to post this, but if not let me know. I made a game about that one Let's Play, Boatmurdered! http://lparchive.org/Dwarf-Fortress-Boatmurdered/ (http://lparchive.org/Dwarf-Fortress-Boatmurdered/) The game's called

It's a top-down horror game that's about 2 hours long. It takes place in the ancient ruins of Boatmurdered.

Please let me know what you think!
Welp, just finished this. It was pretty frickin' terrifying 0_o Music and sound effects were excellent, pacing and atmosphere were spot-on. What really got me though was
the child's death. It was wrenching.
Oh my god, run! RUN!!! ..Sweet Armok, why?! He was just a wee bairn! He dinnae stand a chance! What'd he ever do tae deserve that?! ;_;
More than worth the playthrough! Thanks to you and your team for making this, Eldiran!
Just finished it, those boss fights were awesome, and the atmosphere was great. I would've liked to see more of was
the kid. Even just a short chat with him. If he was explained somewhere, I missed it.
Also, is it normal that certain enemies rarely aggro you?
Where do you find the key for the locked door where the worm boss chase you? Am I supposed to have a key?

You mean here?

There is a path South of the door. To the right of where my character is. Easy to miss while being chased, but it is there. It's those two gray tiles.
Just played through this. I really liked it, it's very well done and does a lot with amazingly little. I'm kinda amazed how frightening a little pixelated roguelike can be.
I especially liked the first follower monster that just appeared out of nowhere. Freaked me out and nearly got me killed right there.
Also, I actually tried shooting the kid when he first started following me. I figured that since this is a horror game he was some sort of monster. Kinda felt guilty after he got roasted. And betrayed by the fire which had been so helpful before.

I'm pretty sure the kid was a hallucination of some sort. A memory of the protagonist's son, who burned in his sleep after the protagonist accidentally set the house on fire.
In fact, I'm pretty sure most of it was a big hallucination on the protagonist's part, literally fighting his demons. That's why the spirit of fire looks like a palette swap, and why all the dwarves with crossbows in the second-to-last segment are mirroring his movements. It's also why fire destroying everthing and being a main enemy kept happening; the protagonist viewed it as an enemy because it got out of control and burned down his house.
...Or I could just be reading way too heavily into it, and he really just exorcised a ghostfiredemonmonsterrawr. All I know for sure is that the whole thing could have been avoided if the protagonist had just raised his fires with a firm sense of rules and boundaries. Oh, believe me, I tried to play Dwarf Fortress. I really respect it, but I eventually found making my own game was easier than properly learning to play : P
I hope you don't if I sig this.
