Every now and then, you are waiting for something eagerly, being almost at the edge or at least midly excited, and when it eventually comes...It turns to be crap.
And you end up being disappointed.
Like, Hercules level of disappointed. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9gC1GiSDDA)
Have you been DISAPPOINTED by something today?
Well, probably not a bad idea to share it, I suppose?
...Though I'm not sure if this falls under the category of RAAAAAGE/sad/WTF?, but you don't have to be exactly angry or sad or confused when you're DISAPPOINTED.
(As is the case with emotional threads, PLEASE don't post anything that may be considered offensive, not-disappointing or otherwise inappropriate for the thread. Thank you very much.)
==================================
Starting off with me kinda-ranting about Awesomenauts.
See, there's this relatively-recent thing on their website called Voltar's Vault (of Omniscient Revelations), which in short is a place for them to post updates about the upcoming patch, with each new version of the Vault covering a different patch (in this case 2.5).
And they don't update it exactly regularly.
The previous update was on May 21, which was them announcing a livestream showcasing something uber awesome about the patch. It happened two days later and showcased a new character and some smaller things. That was 13 days ago (the announcement, not the stream). The beta for the patch launched soon after the stream and everyone who bought beta access could play that character.
You would think that after such a long period of waiting (and sometimes new updates come multiple times per day, mostly in the case of those blurry sneak peeks though) they would reveal something awesome...What did they come up with?
Revealing the character and one of his skills. Both of which everyone knew about for well over a week.
I understand they needed to post those up anyway to keep the Vault consistent, but after such a long period of waiting you would have expected something a BIT less DISAPPOINTING.

What disappointed me today was my exam. It had questions like "What is an avalanche" and "Identify three aspects of this lower course"
-
I realized that I do not have any root beer. So much disappointment.

"Oh, we're not hiring, but come and check in later!"
"No, we're not hiring, do you want an application?"
"Oh, you have to be 21 to work here, sorry."
"We're full as it is, but do you want an application?"
*sigh...*
"Oh, we're hiring! Here's an application, we'll call you if we wish to continue."
:D
A month later... >:(

"Oh, you have to be 21 to work here, sorry."
Is that even legal?

I'm pretty sure that there are certain kinds of places that require it (maybe bars in some states? I know that their age limit is at least 18 from what I've heard in my state).

Legally, age discrimination only exists in the discriminated party is over 40

A specimen of bad design in the wild: Livemocha requires you to enter and confirm your email when signing up for an account, but only enter your password once.

One time, I spent an entire day looking forward to eating a leftover barbecued cheese sausage. When my anticipation was at its peak, I went to get it from the fridge only to find that someone else had eaten it.
Disappointment doesn't even begin to describe the maelstrom of emotions that overtook me.

Packed my stuff. Went to my dad's.
Discover that even though I brought my desktop and monitor, I did not bring the cables to hook them up.

Saw GTA4 Complete on sale via steam for 6 yuro.
Decided its a good price for me to finally see how the series changed after San Andreas.
After a loooong download and some messing around with secu-rom i finally get the game to work... after saying no to several social network wannabes i get into the game... or the tutorial to be more exact.
15 minutes later i'm ready to save and start playing the game for real!
.
.
.
You have a windows live account to save.
As i have been affected by a massive password leak earlier (after whitch i decided to delete my WinLive account) i just can't be arsed to register there again.
6 yuro well spent!
At least hopefully they will let me save the game once WinLive is closed completely.

Spain lost.
Fuck.

Walked over to the Mexican restaurant down the street to get a burrito, only to remember that they don't open for another hour.
I was tempted to get something else instead, but well... I haven't eaten there in a while

This thread.
To be serious, I'm rather disappointed in myself for having slept until half an hour past noon today (kinda wanted a morning today). At least I got a good half-day rest, given my recent dentist appointment; so at least it's not a total loss. Still trying to recall my dreams during that time for the dream thread. So far, kinda disappointed I can't recall anything yet. That's quite a bit of sleep I lost memory of.
EDIT:
All I can remember is that that same girl (and maybe the others along with her) was in there, and kept me company during my recovery. As far as I can tell, we were mostly BS'ing and chilling out in all sorts of unusual places, and doing random crap with reality warping and such. Kinda like a shared server in GMOD, with locations and such based on experience. They provided some interesting stuff from their world/realm; music I never heard, food and drink not native to our world, and so forth. Good taste in stuff too, despite the exotic (relatively speaking, on my/our end) nature of the stuff. For being alien/off-worlders, they're really not too different from us. Hell, if I'm clairvoyant to any degree, regarding any dreaming, I wouldn't be too surprised that if I do meet any aliens of these sorts, we'll just grab some booze, and BS the night away; and given they're female in this case, maybe see about going out for a more personal adventure.
In that case, however, the disappointment is that the dream is just that... utter crap.

Tator tot won't let me use the laptop. :(

A friend of mine flaked on a jam she proposed.

Melting cheese on a fruit muffin didn't make for a particularly good combination of flavours. Not really sure what I expected.
-
Fruit and cheese? Yo, what type of cheese were you using? Maybe something like marscapone could work, but if you were using something like cheddar....
-
Yeah, I know. :P
I just kinda forgot about/ignored the fruit part, since I didn't have much else to put on it.

Still no hoverboards.
Every day.

Maybe next Christmas? Then again, I want my Mr. Fusion.

:-\ Minor disappointment, I realized that I won't be able to get some checks cashed before the sale on Shadowrun Returns and RPG Maker VX Ace* ends. Such a shame. I wanted both, but won't have enough to get them both at full price.
Aaaaahhhh well. Waiting is a thing that shall be done.
*Minor edit: Nor am I willing to pay the frankly outrageous price for a product I truly only intend to use to make maps and character portraits for forum games. Because it makes things easier on me.

That I am alive.

My friend started a Pathfinder game for my friend's sister and her friend to introduce him to D&D. We only had 2 sessions and had another planned for today, which was going to be special because my friend's sister's friend was bringing his friends who started playing D&D after he convinced them to start playing. One of these friend's sister's friends was friend's sister's first and new boyfriend, so we were excited.
They ended up forgetting that the game was today and their band had a gig scheduled for today. No D&D game. :(
-
The cambelt on my car broke. Time for a new car.
-
Spent a lot of time looking for a band who I listened to a few months ago, yet only remembered the album cover. For some reason I thought I enjoyed them.
Just found the album again, and as it turns out, I can't stand it. :-\ Memory, why do you lie to me? You can accurately remember my feelings on every band except one I dislike. Brain, you have failed me. I'm sorry, but I cannot show you any mercy, and will now subject you to hours of bad death metal.
-
It appears that my electric razor has broken. It will no longer charge.

The country's (possibly the world's) largest and oldest foreign-language bookstore, Schoenhof's, won't let you filter by language on their website. I can't search for books in a specific language.
Madness.

I tried tobacco. It was nowhere near as much of an event as I thought it would be. It didn't even really feel or taste like much, except breathing smoke. Laaame, but at least I won't be spending money on it any time soon.

i went to the fridge to get pizza but the only pizza there is a full sized family pizza i considered making some pizza but then i remembered my mother recently purged the fridge and cupboard

Reheated leftovers are terrible. Cheese is not that good for reheating. Gets all crusty.

Well, you're lucky in that, at least. Apparently most people just give in to it and let smoking become a habit quite quickly.
Fortunately I don't see the appeal in tobacco, either. It smells awful. That might be partially thanks to being asthmatic, though...

Played the CD version of Star Trek: Judgment Rites. The voice acting is terrible. Kirk sounds like a bad impersonator despite Shatner himself playing the role, and everybody else must have just been dying to get their checks and leave.

Unsure if theres a things that made you tired as fuck so posting here cause too tired to program the shit I drew up the other day due to exhausting work, and unsure I can even read well enough to comprehend the book on game coding I just got so vegging the fuck out and watching anime and probably gonna pass out.

A new Indian restaurant opened across the street from my office, if only the food didn't suck, the portions weren't tiny, and wasn't so god damn expensive. Unlike the other Indian restaurant four blocks away

Lost all of my tabs again. Can't get any more upset than a half-hearted "Fuck it" by this point.

Have yet to either spontaneously combust or be killed by an Eldritch abomination.
Hopefully one of the two will happen during one of my classes this year.
I mean, I thought the chance of me graduating from high school was less than zero, so I guess I'm pretty good at breaking the universe at this point. Might as well hope for something else that's not likely to happen. :P
-
I'm pretty sure I'm a fanboy of the Mechwarrior franchise.
During a argument about it with a friend I just kept getting madder and madder without really making valid points.
I'm mystified about this since I don't really know too much about it lore wise and I don't actually think much about the whole thing,I only started really thinking about the thing when I was reminding about it.
So if your looking to get into a argument with me then just start saying that some aspect of the franchise is bad.
(Unless your talking about MWO,I'll happily say that MWO is bad.)

I had to scrap a scarf after about a week of work because I cocked up a section and noticed way too late to fix it. Normally I'd say "screw it" and keep going, but this was bad. It would have resulted in two giant holes, basically, and the only fix would be to stitch them together and hope it doesn't look too ugly.

Was supposed to go play Pathfinder with friends today, but I have no ride and it's raining out.
I want to go, but I don't want to walk a half-hour in the rain to get to a bus stop.

Thick coat with hood?

A little late for that now. But I have to find my coat anyways, since it's starting to get colder.
It's in storage somewhere. Hopefully not the storage unit. That thing is a mess.

The way I read that.

Well I'm sure if I could find a large enough cat I could indeed cut it open length-wise and use it as a coat, but where would I find one at this time of day?

Disappoint: Why is it that pretty much every RP on the forums is based in a school? There are so many other, more interesting environments that never get used, it's a shame.
Heck, probably most of the reason I never join one is because the environments don't seem interactive enough. And it's not like you'd even need to be original to find good ideas.
You could base it off Firefly. Group of people in space where travel takes weeks at a time in close quarters? That would work.
Hell, you could have people have jobs. But why is it always a damn school?
So much wasted potential.
-

Quite a few of those, though that's in the RtD section.
And, psssst. It's because it's always the same group of people.
Pretty much. At the very least a handful of the same people always join/create those.
Now excuse me as I glare furiously at my screen due to a lack of steam/cyberpunk settings where multiple people participate that isn't run and populated by the people that run all the magic girl games.

Wasn't referring to that, just really want to see one several. :P
And, come on. Nothing good has ever come from me trying to run a game.
Seriously though, that was just a suggestion and was in no way meant to be taken seriously.

Yeah, the "if you don't like it, make a better one"-crowd is one of my personal pet peeves.
-
Editing from the future has removed this 'cause it's still on the latest page.
-
Well too bad, the next game you gonna see is a minimalist Fire Emblem RTD with magical girls.
And the players are all the people you'd rather wouldn't see on a regular basis.
-
Actually, I can think of a possible world and storyline for a steampunk game...
/me cancels cyberpunk; interrupted by steampunk
-
Hell, I'd run a Firefly RP if I had the time/motivation, but I know I'd want to put too many rules in place, and then it'd be a game, not an RP.
Le sigh.

Cities: Skylines, which I just bought.
The frustrating thing is that it very well might get more interesting further in but I play long enough to be sure Steam won't give me a refund, so I don't know what to do.

If this was DF, I'd accuse you of being a night creature.
Because you're clearly a necromancer.

"I call you a creature of the night, and I will slay you where you stand!"
"I don't know what you're talking about."
The rest of us'll mob him if you start it. :P

sure why not
i've always wanted to be an apprentice necromancer
I was going to dust off my EA account and try out the Battlefront beta, but EA won't send me my recovery password. I guess that means I'm saved from having to install Origin, due to circumstances beyond my control.
Wait no they did it. Honestly the game is kind of underwhelming. Out of what they've let us play it's just a nicely polished shooter that also is Star Wars themed. No particularly unique mechanics.

Steam, why can you never seem to handle releases properly and always, always ALWAYS delay them for no apparent reason?

I needed a new PC gamepad. Since it just happened to be advertised at about the same time my old one was taking a dive, I got a steam controller.
Maybe I'm missing something here, but how does a company like steam make a gaming gamepad, claim it works outside of steam as well like a normal controller would and then make that gamepad apparently only control mouse movement and emulate a few preset keyboard buttons and call that a 'normal controller'?
It works great in steam games sure, outside of having to configure the thing in that bloated made for tvs not PCs mess called big picture mode. But everything else either fails to even see it, (Phantasy Star Online 2) or has what one would assume should be movement controls hard mapped to moving the mouse about the screen uselessly (emulators).
A help forum claims that if I just set it as a not steam game in steam and always run it from there, it works fine but 1) I don't want to have steam running all the time, and 2) Phantasy Star Online 2 crashes to desktop and sometimes bluescreens from what I gather is a Gameguard error every time it runs from steam.
Steam, I am disappoint.

Productivity was down 50% today- I only made one stuffed toy elephant instead of two.
Doubtless had something to do with getting barely any sleep last night.
Edit: I did read 152 pages of my book during the workday, too. That might have also contributed.

It's just that the day before I managed to make two. :P
New Disappointment: Vodka and Ribena (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ribena) doesn't taste as nice as I'd hoped.
At least that's probably because I put a lot of vodka in there.

A workmate of mine is infamous for his general careless approach to... life. Pretty much.
He had agreed to do a shift instead of me next wednesday. Now, this is something he ASKED for because he gets the cash from said shift.
He called me a few minutes ago, he wont do it after all.
It isn't the first time he backtracks in this kind of thing, btw. But now it has directly affected my holiday plans.
Odds are that he will backtrack yet again and ask to do it yet again.. upon which I will most likely tell him to get bent. Because I'm rather tired of these antics.

Just got out of the shower. Shower beers did not seem quite as amazing as I was led to believe, although admittedly I sort of messed up the procedure and forgot the beer beforehand, and basically got out of the shower, grabbed a beer from the fridge, shaved and then had a second sort of mini-shower whilst swigging beer.
I didn't drink much of it, either. Too much of a waste of water.
Perhaps next time I'll just have a beer on hand as I shower normally. I mean, it was kind of nice, but I think that's mainly the warm relaxation one usually feels in a shower. Maybe my expectations were just too high and it was actually a fairly pleasant experience, I'm not sure.

My latest attempt at picture-perfect sunny side up eggs was a failure. The whites set perfectly, but the yolk was still liquid and room-temperature. For my own peace of mind, I had to flip them. Now my peace of mind is intact, but they lost that perfect look that I was going for.
Some day, I will have the most awesome sunny-side-up eggs in all of the country. They cannot evade me forever.

Those individually-wrapped, floppy, plastic-y kind of cheese slices don't work too well in the cheese on toast experience.
I can't say I'm terribly surprised... maybe it would have worked better if I melted the cheese (normal cheese melts naturally on a hot slice of toast).
Unfortunately I felt like cheese on toast, and this was the only cheese in the fridge. At least I hope so, if there's other stuff hiding away in there it's probably ancient.

Sick. Debating whether or not to go to class. We're approaching finals week, so it could be important. On the other hand, I walk to campus and back, and I'm currently saturating paper towels with snot.
There's also the issue of spreading germs, although the class is probably where I got sick to begin with. We were passing little sheets of paper between everyone to simulate matrix multiplication.

Two rather cruddy Steam games I've tried in a row, that I'll probably end up getting refunds for.
One of them, I'm really not sure what I was thinking when I bought it. I guess I couldn't see/hear the clunkiness/awkward silences whilst watching the trailer. The other one actually looked pretty decent, though!
Both seem to have far more positive reviews than I would have expected. :-\
...I am also deeply Disappointed in myself for shamelessly necro'ing this.

There's a few metal covers of Holding Out For A Hero, one of my favorite songs of all time that could totally be my favorite metal song of all time too. They all unfortunately don't live up to my (really nitpicky) standards. They're all totally listenable but none of them match the original in intensity and feeling. :(
-

At least Moon Hunters has turned out to be really good from the brief look I've taken so far!
Seems so much better than I expected... honestly, that soundtrack is beautiful enough that it's probably worth the price of admission on its own. :)

I used to think that the song "Nehanshika" by Deino3330 must be really deep, based on a translation (http://pokemonspritemaker90.deviantart.com/journal/Nehanshika-English-Lyrics-and-other-stuff-432828838) that used to be the most common one (it's the first section, I couldn't find a better source). Now however a new translation (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eeY7VkKkta4) has come out, which totally contradicts the earlier one and reveals the lyrics to be broken Buddhist prayers, anime and pop culture references, and nonsense. The line that was "random consonants grouped together" in the earlier translation literally is random Japanese characters.
Not being a Japanese-speaker of any description, I have no idea which one is more accurate and can't translate the song for myself. :(

The wonderful vegan bakery down the road was closed, after I gathered up all of my coins and trekked down there in the hopes of acquiring one of the amazing, amazing mushroom pies and a loaf of bread, and I wound up going to some other bakery further on and getting bread there, along with a thoroughly mediocre vegetable pastie instead of the mind-blowing pie experience I had planned on. :(
I guess the place is closed on Saturdays. I couldn't see any opening hours for Saturday on the window... maybe they simply decided not to mention on the sign. Odd that they apparently open on Sunday (at least 'til 4 pm), but not on Saturday. Curious. I should have checked first.

Did you scream and run away?
-
Comic I borrowed from the library has awesome art and aesthetics, but rubbishy writing and whiny, douchetacular characters.
Did you scream and run away?
If I remember correctly I just stood there, eagerly watching to see if a proper punch-on would actually occur. Unfortunately not - I think the publican intervened.
Probably wouldn't have been much of a brawl anyway, the place was almost empty and one party was far more physically intimidating than the other.
Would have still been entertaining to see him pulp that other twerp, though!
-
You do appear to have been so traumatized by the event that it took you a year to reply, though :P

I saw a barroom brawl once.
I was the chef in an open walled kitchen. At the back, there was pool, a jukebox, and other more electronic games. Two large groups of drunks were back there, 3 to 4 each. Something happened and two medium sized guys started pushing each other. One tripped over our Death Step (random step 4noraisin) and fell into a small candy machine. As he did, the other guy performed an Olympic class, perfect form kick to the face. Fell guy jumped up and they all started brawling. One lady was whaling on a guy with her pool stick, fell guy stumbled into the kitchen wall and turned to glare at me murderously, right over our rack of knives.
So I snatched the entire rack and threw them in the freezer and sat on it. He went back to their fight, then cops came.

You absolute fucking legend, you probably saved some lives that night

My boss was pissed cuz I ripped the rack out of the drywall and she made me repair but yeah I felt pretty good about the whole "no one got stabbed" thing.

*points to the "today" part of the title*
That is a disappointment every day! You'll have to be more specific, chum.
-
I'm really disappointed that I don't have any disappointments to express today. Contentment sucks!

Got results of bloodwork today. I am happy that there are no horrible you are going to die in 2 weeks things. But I apparently need to cut bread out of my diet, as my cholesterol is completely out of whack. So I skipped my celebratory 'good news' McDonalds trip after a doctor's visit, so disappointing.
I instead bought a frozen pizza at the store when I was checking my work schedule... But it's thin crust, that helps right?

Yeah it helps a little. No bread is apparently better but. Ya know. QoL too.

You can make pizza crust alternatives out of mozzerella, too.

LMAO that'll help his cholesterol fo' sho!

That does not even sound good. There is such a thing as too much cheese. Heresy I know. :P
A friend dragged me to burger king. Still in my 'slightly healthier' kick I ordered a chicken sandwich instead of a burger, without the mayo because I hate mayo anyway and it's an easy way to make it healthier. While it was not as good as a burger,(and was thus disappointing at the time) looking up the nutritional info that turned out to be 'almost' healthy, relatively low in cholesterol, and still reasonably good. I might be able to pull this off long term after all.
...nah probably not.

Mate, wake up in the morning with a smoked kipper or mackerel on a bed of lettuce, or some have salmon for dinner, chunked and rolled up in raw spinach leaves. Fish is delicious, easy/quick to cook and good for you, and it'll drive your cholesterol down. People whinge that healthy, easy and tasty foods is rare, but it's literally swimming all around us.

Bread? Cholesterol? How many breads does your chicken lay in the morning?
On a similar note, I'm disappointed that my breakfast cereal options are basically either "40% sugar by volume" or "dry flavorless grains: now with extra boredom". Additionally, the dry flavorless grains option is generally supposed to be made more appealing by a flavored milk of some kind, like one of the probiotic cultured milks... except there again, the selection is between "a spoonful of sugar helps the sweetener go down" and "freshly fermented from the teat of an incredibly misanthropic cow". And of course I just read the bit about how recent studies aren't showing a whole lot of good from probiotics, so there's that.
The reason I'm looking at cereals as opposed to bacon and thyme omelets is because cereal is the least labor-intensive option and thus actually stands a chance of being eaten in the morning... A mediocre meal is better than no meal at all.
And for anyone scoffing at cheese-bottomed pizza, let me just say that my girlfriend recently went through a keto diet weightloss period. She made a lasagna that substituted cabbage for the lasagna sheets.
Cabbage.
-
That sounds monstrous.
-
Kagus, carbohydrate intake can affect your cholesterol levels. Small note. Also, in defense of cheese crust: it doesn't taste like cheese, as mozz is pretty mild, and it's just like a greasier thin crust. :3
I am very leery of the lasagna cabbage deal, me and the fiance will likely never try that one.
-
I mean, I'm all for inventive substitutes for food items, and I actually quite like cabbage, but... why would you swap out the pasta for it?!
What did pasta ever do to you?? :( Carbs are your friend, people.
Edit: oh yeah, and I somehow managed to sleep through all three of the alarms I had set today. Unless they just didn't fire somehow?
Doesn't really matter since I didn't have plans for today apart from maybe reading a book and making a start on a certain art-ish project I've been planning, but still. The phone was right by my bed and everything. I guess this could just as easily fit the WTF thread...
-
If it's anything like me when I set my alarms expect them to go off exactly 12 hours from the point you meant to set them.
-
This is why you use 24-hour clocks for alarm setting.

Go full müsli. Never look back. The only reason you think ordinary cereal is bland is that you are used to and desensitized by the hyper sugarized ones. Lowering your sugar intake will make you more sensitive to sweetness again.
Also filmjölk is your friend. Don't you dare say anything bad about it.

I'm currently eating "4-grain". Ingredients: Barley, wheat, oats, rye. Nothing else. Not even roasted.
It's a bit bland... But almost every other müsli in stores has about 30-40 grams of sugar per 100. There are one or two hand-crafted vintage rustic free range granolas with less added sugar, but they're about $14 for every 137-gram bag or however they're packaged...

Nope, I checked and they were set for the right half of the day. I should really set my phone's clock to 24-hour time, though... that's what I normally use.

Muesli is abhorrent and I'm not sure I should encourage the consumption of such a substance, but couldn't you just buy the cheapest non-sugary version and smash some maple syrup in there or something?
My current cereal is actually not that far removed from muesli, to be honest... but it's clusters of oats with actual flavour added, so it's not nearly as bad. Recently I discovered this awesome brand of shredded-wheat-rectangle-things-type cereal which is delicious, with only four ingredients, but I tend to just buy whatever's on special (within reason, of course).
I've been trying to eat more cereal/fiber in general.

Why would anyone dislike müsli
It is literally one of the cornerstones of life
Disliking müsli is saying you dislike fruits and nuts
And what kind of person doesn't like nuts or fruits

Depends on the nuts and the fruits. Cashew, cherry, apricot - Great. Plum, kumquat, hazelnut - Hhmmmm. Raisin, monkeypuzzle, date - The Devil's Arse.
-
Raisins are probably the best fruit of all, though... dates are pretty tops, too, though I admit I may be biased in their favour due to their pun potential.
Muesli is just cereal ingredients that have tragically failed to realise their potential. Shit, they didn't even manage to form a muesli bar.
If you wanna eat oats you could at least go for a bowl of delicious porridge without much more effort.
-
Here in Brazil, there's a typical fruit called "Açaí" which can only be found here or in some few places around Africa. BOOOOOOOOY is that thing good, when you make Ice Cream out of it, it definitely feels like tasting heaven!
-
Oooh, I've only tried açai like once or twice, probably in a smoothie or a muesli bar or something. I'll have to try it again, they're little red berries that look kinda like goji berries, right?
-
Acctually they're pretty blackish, the fruit itself isn't that good, but when turned into a juice or smoothie, ice cream or pulp, it becomes incredibly good, especially with bananas and granola :)

Started playing slither.io, so of course the wifi decided to go to absolute wank for no readily discernible reason.
Curses. I was starting to get big and I heard steps coming towards my office. Score ruined.

As expected, response to the new Venom movie is...not good.
Typical Sony, fucking shit up yet again.

I think I'm more disappointed than WTF, so posting here: The state of computer software vendors just deciding to change features or make settings that users can't change is starting to just annoy me.
Windows 10 updated itself and disabled the fn+# keys that let me change screen brightness.
My trackpad driver updated and now 2-finger scrolling has this "momentum" feature where it keeps scrolling after I lift my fingers. I can't disable it... despite looking at the Internet for registry settings, etc.
Seriously people, stop messing with stuff!

You see, your problem is your expecting them to care about the end user, and act in a way that would logically please said end user

I've also been having some Microsoft woes with my new laptop... It automatically decided that I should log in to the computer as my Microsoft account (my Skype account, basically) rather than a local user profile unique to the machine, which I don't like from the get-go, but also means I can't use a simple easy-to-write password for opening the machine since that's also my Microsoft account password, which needs to be somewhat secure.
It's also been bugging me every time I start the machine that one of my Microsoft accounts requires "fixing"... What's the first step on fixing and account? Providing and email address or phone number for some reason (in addition to the one already associated with the Microsoft account). Mysteriously asking me for personal contact info without giving a reason? Miss me with that shit.
Also whenever I start a Steam game, I get FOUR different pop-ups for game control bars with Steam, a built-in package from this gaming laptop, and two different alerts for Windows' own game bars (which I don't need or want and that I just know is going to catastrophically fail to actually jive with the game).
The computer itself is still an upgrade over my last one, in that I went from not being able to even start up Witcher 3, directly to running it on all ultra settings, so I'm happy. Also there's sound now and it doesn't take two minutes to boot anymore.

BLOTA HIMMEL! BLOTA MYLLA! BRAKAR OCH BLIXTAR!

I had a dream where I stumbled upon an absolutely golden play on words/pun, a fat joke of incredible proportions.
I giggled and snickered my way through the rest of the dream before partially waking up during the early morning, and realizing that I'd used vocabulary that doesn't exist in order to make the joke work.
I am disappoint
-
Oh, I hate it when that happens! You start to slowly wake up, thinking how damned clever your subconscious is, and then as soon as you think about it consciously you realise you've been duped with fake words and the whole joke falls apart like a wet paper bag. :-\
Is is strange that I find that experience so relatable? I know I've had at least two such moments, probably many more.
My Disappoint: King Arthur's Gold does not have controller support. WTF. I re-downloaded it and everything, thinking I could use my new gamepad with it. Weak. Guess it's back to Kero Blaster...
-
Tokyo Ghost is currently disappointing the hell out of me.
I want to see more of the hectic setting and the folks who manage to make the most of it, not die of boredom trying to slog through this excruciatingly lame attempt at a doomed romance between two very bland characters.
Also, the action scenes suck.
At least the art is nice. Oh and I didn't pay for this book, so that's a definite plus.
