Newcomers, feel free to join.
Welcome, dear ladies and gentlemen. Take a seat. I have a proposal you just cannot refuse.
R.D.C. Corporation offers you everything you need to start a criminal career in the grand metropolis of T'ciy.
Let your criminal brain inspire all others! Take control over complete streets, and dominate T'ciy while taking care that R.D.C.'s interests are fulfilled.
T'ciy is a city surpressed by a corporate government. Criminality flocks here and rebellion groups have painted the streets red. T'ciy is ready for urban war.
This game is inspired on Liberal Crime Squad and the Maffia games.
Players
Once it has started, it will still be possible to join, but you will have a penalty versus the other players, since they are further ahead of you.
This game is all about customization; you can detail the hell out of your perfect criminal plan, or give general directions which I follow for different turns. The amount of time you put in to this game goes from anywhere to five minutes a turn to infinity!!! :D
To join in, fill in following form;
Your leader's name:
Your criminal organisation's name: ( Notice that it doesn't have to be maffia organisation. Extreme political organizations are accepted as well, as long as you keep the politics in game. )
Desired HQ: Somewhere on the edge of the city
Your leaders starting "stats": You can add 5 points in total to any of the following stats, who all are 1 standard.
Intelligence: Effects a lot of things in a small way.
Knowledge: Affects how well you can use things you are not familiar with.
Agility: Affects combat, chasing and escaping.
Strength: Affects combat and working.
Charisma: Affects how well you can recruit, command and persuade.
Organisation background information:
Leader background information:
Anything else you would like to say:
Before you click on the post reply button, please first think if you want to atleast commit yourself to look at this thread once in a few days to update your criminal plan. You won't have to tell me exactly everything your gang does, but I still need some general directions once in a while.
Also, absurd submissions will be ignored. This game is serious.
My own submission so far;
Leader; Dmitri Drasda.
Organisation; Spetsnaz 13
Desired HQ; along the edge of the city.
Leader's background; A former spetsnaz from the Soviet Republic of Georgia.
Dmitri is a fanatical communist who has gone underground ever since the fall of the USSR. Disillusioned by the betrayal of different of his former "comrades", Dmitri has travelled to the city of T'ciy and has gone underground there. The strict corporate government there has produced a unhappy population. When well executed, a spark here may lead to another revolution, and possibly the birth of another communist power.
Leader Stats: 1 INT, 3 KNOW, 2 AG, 3 STR, 1 CHR
Organisation background: The goal of Spetsnaz 13 is to overthrow the local government just as true Spetsnaz would; with awesome precision. The Spetsnaz were trained to survive in any condition and to dislocate the enemy with deadly efficiency. What happened in Afghanistan, could happen here. Dmitri is determined to train a group who could be just as good as the Spetsnaz out of these city dwellers. But to do this, he will need time, and luck. And LOTS of bullets.

Instructions
------------
You all start off with your leader, a HQ ( a small building which can accomodate 5 persons ), 10 meager rations, a bicycle, 1500 credits and a swiss knife.
Now, there is a somewhat unendless amount of choices to do. The outcome of each action will be determined by the one who is doing it's stats, and sometimes equipment.
Which stats affect it is determined by logic. Social events are, for example, determined by charm. Kidnapping, attacking... by equipment and things like strength.
Here is a list of things you could do...
Get out on the street and find new recruits ( here for example, charm would determine how succesfull you would be )
Mug people ( here, strength and agility would be handy. Notice you could get arrested here )
Find abandoned houses to claim.
Go out and shop for ...
Equip member x with y.
Let member x go to place y
Go to a local cafe and spread rumors,...
Steal from a local shop.
I roll some dices. You then gain the results.
The players work in "turns". A turn is three days.
So, that means you have 48 hours to spend ( you sleep for 8 hours a day ).
Choose what you want to do, and how many hours approx.
For example;
- Outfit your leader with swiss knife and bicycle ( improves efficiency, naturally )
- Go out and buy 20 meager rations ( - 200 credits ) for one hour.
- Find new recruits ( 12 hours )
- Do some petty work ( 12 hours )
- Search abandoned houses ( 23 hours )
If I do this, I would get, for example; 20 meager rations ( - 200 credits )
1 recruit
90 credits
Found one abandoned house
--------
1610 credits
2 squad members
You can name him/her if you want to. If not, I'll name him myself. ;D
Also, I should not forget to outfit him with anything.
I could make a little story around finding recruits etc...
Your situation will be updated in your "profile". This is a post which sums up equipment, members, the equipment they are carrying, and other things.
After I have posted the results, you can post your next turn. I will not post the results of that turn YET, but will first post the results of any other players. If a player is offline for to long, I will do his turn as best as I can for him.
Here is a map which you would get at your profile after my example turn. "http://www.picoodle.com/view.php?img=/4/6/12/f_rbdm_a875d05.png&srv=img33"
Your profile.
Your profile post is in the next post. It tells you anything you need to know about your organisation.
Your turn.
When you are taking a turn, DO NOT POST A NOW POST.
Instead, edit your "submission" post. This is to make sure everything is easy to manage.
It is VERY important you state which turn you are at, to prevent confusion.
Always state which turn you are at. Please. I beg you. :'(

Connections
As a criminal organization, you need connections.
The only way to get this is by letting someone of your squad "Goes out and finds connections".
You need to give him some money to buy your way in to the underworld. Notice that this is a dangerous activity, which might get you arrested.
Connections are needed to buy more "hot" equipment. Explosives, heavy guns, body armour and more are considered hot and can only be gained by having contacts with the underworld.
Notice that their are two types of connections.
GOV Connection: This is your connection with the local ( corrupt ) government.
MOB Connection: This is your connection with the local criminal world.
The more GOV/MOB Connection, the more options you unlock. Notice, that connections come also with a duty. The Government or underworld can ask you for favours, when, for example, another player starts destroying police stations or something special happens.
R.D.C.
One of the largest corrupt corporations in the city.
R.D.C. has a lot of influence, spanning from the underworld to the government.
They will ask the new criminal organisations for occasional favours, with possible rewards attached to them.
You can, ofcourse, ignore any request they have. You can go as far as rivalling them. Do know, though, that they are powerfull.
However, if they would fall, the entire city will fall in to chaos. A situation which may come in handy for those who seize it.
Houses
To keep it simple, each house can house 10 people properly. If you recruit more without being able to house them, they will sleep on the street ( which is risky ).
Rations
Rations will be automatically stored at the house of the buyer. All members who are in the same house will automatically eat from them.
Recruits who do not have rations will have to go out on the street and beg for food, or steal it. Naturally, this causes each member to have a large chance of being caught by the police.
Things to do
-Steal from x
-Recruit
-Go to another player-owned house
-Go to district x and ( followed by another action )
-Buy x
-Mug people on the street
-Hold a speech on the street
-Protest on the street
-Bribe your way in to the GOV with x amount of money
-Bribe your way in to the MOB with x amount of money
-Infiltrate and sabotage building x
-Blow up building x
-Assassinate person x
-Equip x ( does not need time )
-Drop x at house x
-Work out ( requires item)
-Internet Fraud ( requires item, less risky then normal fraud )
-Learn ( requires item )
-Street Fraud
-Kidnap person x ( or just random persons )
-Perform a march with your members ( requires minimally 20 persons )
-Beat up x ( if your unlucky, this could kill people. Otherwhise, it might make people heed you )
-Start a killing spree ( will almost certainly kill your member, but causes large amounts of panic and media attention )
-Type a organization paper ( requires item )
-Spread organization paper on the streets
-Broadcast a radio program of your organisation

so, can we join yet?
-
I might be interested, once it starts.
-
I'll try my hand at this...
Name:Bob(simple names for simple people)
Gang:Sobs
Desired HQ:Outside the city,country.
Leader's background:This chap has been watching the television for too long.He has somewhat lost vision with reality and feels the government is using the radiation from microwaves in conjunction with the convenience of TV dinners to slowly melt our brains, turning us into slaves for their factories. Now he has had it,and is organizing a gang to spread the word and raid the local city for proof of his absurd claims.Whether that means lying to his followers or not.(he knows people think his claims are nutz so he finds good reasons and stupid people to do what he wants)
Leader Stats: 1 INT, 2 KNOW, 1 AG, 4 STR, 2 CHR
Gang background:Not much, they just started,in the end they most likely(hopefully) will turn into a strong thorn in the government's side, albeit very disjointed.
I know it sounds absurd but it is just a random gang to throw some gameplay into the mix.
Imma watching this one,looks good.
-
leader's name: Ian Wanezski
organization name: Cyber samurai
Desired HQ: a medium sized apartment filled with computer equipment.
leader stats:I3 K3 A1 S1 C2
Organization background: CS is (will be?) formed by intelligent people who believe they deserve more power and money, and are willing to cross the rest of society in their pursuit of them.
Leader background: Ian is a smart and somewhat sociopathic man in his early 20s, who claims to believe in freedom of information and other socialist ideas, but in reality wants power. Not inherently charming he relies on various dirty tricks of group psychology and NLP to get him though his encounters with people. Up to now he had been stealing small sums from credit cards, defacing websites, and arguing his position on forums, but he feels it is time to do more.
-
Name: Nikolai Andrekov

This is my turn post.
TURN 1
I buy 10 decent food rations ( -300 credits ) ( 1 hour )
I go out on the street and recruit ( 9 hours )
Dice: 62 %
Dmitri wanders the streets, and tries to convince people to join his cause. He has little luck, and his lack of charm doesn't help too. However, he manages to convince one person, Terry Venus, of joining his cause.
He will join the Spetsnaz the following turn.
Dmitri's charm has improved a little, but not enough to gain an extra point.
Do petty work ( 11 hours )
Dice: 33 %
Dmitri manages to find some work to be done. He does most of the work he has been given, but finds out that the contracter lowered his wage, due to some mishaps in his work. In the end, he goes home with 48 credits.
Visit the Cultural Center ( 10 hours )
Dice: 78 %
Dmitri attends a free self-defense course. His strength raises a point.
Also, he finds some loose change on the ground. In total, it accumulates to 4 credits.
Go out and search for abandoned houses ( 17 hours )
Dice: 7 % ( ouch )
Dmitri looks and looks, but finds no place he could potentially use as a hideout or a stash. He returns home, tired.
Dmitri eats 2 meager rations.
-
so this is dead, huh?
I really wanted to play it though.
does anyone want to take over?
-
Not sure it's dead,he did say he needed time to set it up,rest assured I'm being patient.
-
I'm having troubles working the game mechanics out. It'll start soon.
-
Nevermind.
-
Will it take a lot of time to make that other game, or will we be able to start next week (let's say the 28th of July)? because if it takes about as much time to develop both of them, I think we should just keep going with this thing (obviously we like your original idea, since we are here).
-
2. Will take max a day or two. Especially since I am going to steal a lot of the total war mechanics. *Ninja look*
However, if you guys still are up for the first, feel free to pick that one. My time is not valuable at all. :)
-
I was really pleased to see this sort of game come up. And then really sad to hear what you had to say about it not going on.
Its really up to you the GM to go ahead with things, i dont want to force you to do things you dont want to little girl. oops.
-
Nevermind
-
well, im happy to wait if you need the extra time really.
-
Alright.
I'm going to update the first posts when it's ready. I hope this is going to work.
-
Imma gonna have to resign my entry, what with my project and all.
If anyone else wants to take control of Bob's Sobs be my guest.
-
The game, is "ready" to play. Read the instructions if you haven't already. I'm still going to add a larger glossary and I still have to write explanations on things like "connections" and maps. If you don't understand how anything works, ask.
Bob's Sobs are on non-active now.
Let the City Warfare, begin!
That is, once you have your maps. :D
-
Also, I would first like to have everyone confirm if they are still in.
New spots are open, since SHADOWdump, and possibly others, are gone.
EDIT: Weeh.
(http://img26.picoodle.com/img/img26/4/7/20/t_Paperm_ab43678.png) (http://www.picoodle.com/view.php?img=/4/7/20/f_Paperm_ab43678.png&srv=img26)
-
I'm in.
-
Comeone, people! Are you telling me a1s is the only one interested?
-
*Asheron throws a tantrum*
WHAT IS THIS?
I had to write an entire document with formulas and a small program in python to balance strength, charm etc, people ( well, one did ) tell me they were sad this wasn't happening, and now, NOBODY but a1s wants to hop in.
...
I guess I'll wait another 24 hours. After that, me and a1s can have a cosy duel game. If nobody joined by that time or reactivated.
-
I'm so in! :)
Your leader's name: Jacob Young
Your criminal organisation's name: Uprising Down Under
Desired HQ: Somewhere in the slums, preferably a deserted, rundown apartment building.
Intelligence: 2
Knowledge: 2
Agility: 2
Strength: 1
Charisma: 3
((Hope I did that right.))
Organisation background information: Jacob never fit in with society. He never had good grades, smoked weed, hated his family, and was your average teenage rebel. He was very charsmatic, and has a lot of friends in school. He started a small gang that values cunning, skill, and determination to see the machine fall. It appeals to the lower class, but most upper-class people are disgusted by the thought of it, and the middle-class see them as idiots.
Leader background information: A CRAZY MOTHAFU*KA!
Anything else you would like to say:
-
Well, keep meh sobs alive, soon their leader will return after the project is complete.
And little,thats 7 points spent,you only have 5.
-
Yey... ranting helps :D
So, Little, you indeed have 7 points instead of 5. Fix it, please.
SHADOWdump's gang has chosen to stay in the background and let the fighting unfold.
The stats should be 10 in total, with a minimum of 1 in each, if that helps.
-
Fixed.
-
Good. I'm going to add two maps, my starting position and yours. a1s's one is already in the map section.
EDIT: Everyone can start. I'm just going to add some more things to the sections to make sure everything is worked out. Then, I'll start my turn.
EDIT:EDIT: I'm adding important people, like politicians in LCC. The colour of person's x name corresponds with his political belief ( red = socialist, blue = liberal,... )
EDIT:EDIT:EDIT: I'm taking my turn. Remember, edit your submission post.
-
-Equip the Swiss Army Knife and Bicycle
-Hold a speech on the street (2 Hours)
-Recruit (24 hours)
Visit the Cultural Center ( 12 hours )
-Petty Work (10 hours)
-
Remember,if anyone wants to take control of the sobs you have my go.
-
Well, why don't you go active and go anarchist? Blow up a building and kill a few people with the knife.
-
Hold a speech on the street: 49 %
Jacob manages to gather a crowd around him. However, the police breaks it up soon enough. Jacob learns some thing about speeches, though. ( A little advancement in charm, indicated by *. 4* = 1 point )
Recruit: 37 %
Jacob spends a lot of time finding suitable people. He has little luck in amount of numbers of people he finds, but he his surprisingly lucky in persuading them. In the end, 4 people join Uprising Down Under.
Visit the Cultural Center: 87 %
The Cultural Center is swarming with activity. Jacob attends an argument course, gaining 3* in charm.
Petty Work: 68 %
Jacob manages to find work and cashes in 70 credits at the end of the turn.
Jacob eats 2 meager rations.
NOTE: I added some things to buy.
-
Count me in! I saw there was an empty spot...
Leader: Flo
Organisation: The F
Leader background: His real name is Flo Falder (?). 23 years old. When he was a teenager, he started a joke about worshiping the "F" letter. But what started as a joke, strated to grow more as a real faith. Soon enough, he'd go crazy. He ran away from his home a month ago. Now, he's in T'ciy, determined to make everyone believe in F, by words or by violence.
Location of the HQ: Somewhere on the edge of the city
Leader Stats: 3 INT, 3 KNOW, 1 AGI, 1 STR, 2 CHA.
Organisation background: Fresh new. The F has the goal to make everyone worship F. Non-believers on the other side...
Turn 1:
-Equip bicycle, equip swiss-army knife
-Go out and buy a crowbar, for 30 minutes (-500 credits)
-Equip crowbar
- Hold speeches on the streets about the F, for 9h30.
-Recruit followers for 18h
-Break into houses at night, stealing some stuff for 5 hours
-Try to steal a car for 1 hour
- Protest about other religions on the street for 4h.
Hope I am doing this right :)
-
Welcome aboard, F!
Let's see...
Flo buys himself a crowbar, -500 credits.
Hold speeches on the streets about the F: 71 %
Flo holds speeches on different streets about the F. The population is impressed, and the speeches leave a mark with the local district. Chances that you find followers increase. Also, Flo gains 2* CHA.
Recruit followers: 43 %
Flo goes around for quite some time. He seems to be unlucky in finding capable people, but his speeches has payed off. 3 people will join the F next turn. Their stats can be seen on the summary. ( Give them names! )
Break in to houses at night: 64 %
Flo breaks in to different houses, finding all sorts of things to sell on the black market. On one occasion, he activates the alarm. He manages to run away fast enough, though. He has left little-to-no traces of himself.
In the end, Flo manages to gather 346 credits!
Try to steal a car: 21 %
Flo fails in stealing any car. Atleast he didn't get caught.
Protest about other religions on the street: 45 %
Flo starts to protest on the street about other religions. He gathers little attention, and he nearly gets himself in to a fight when a band of notorious churchgoers pass by.

Could you please list every action we can do, and can we do seprete things with our members?
-
Yup. Each member can do what he wants.
And I'll try listing everything. If you come up with anything that isn't in it yet, feel free to post it.
-
Please name my troops in this order:
Dust, Dirt, and Ash.
Can organizations coordinate in actions together? Like speechs?
-
Yup. Some actions even need different team members ( the hold a march action for example ).
-
The sobs are about conversion not obliteration.
They are meant to spread and kill anyone who gets in their way.
-
A1S, please post...
Also, how can I tell if my character is advancing?
Also, my new member's stats are sweet!
-
Your character stats can also be seen on the summary. A * means he/she already advanced a quarter to the next stat point.
And, yeah, you had some really good luck with the dices.
a1s, I'm giving you another 12 hours. After that, you'll be unactive.
EDIT: Also, the F's starting position map is now made.
-
