Title: Roll to Dungeon Master (6/4)

Here's how the game works.

Claim your spot by posting!

Round one: Everyone makes an aspect of a dungeon and a monster. You PM it to me.

Round two: Everyone enters the dungeon. Whoever survives wins the game and gets more control over the next round.

Magic, swords, guns, mutations, whatever, its ok. Whats not ok is being in a mech or ship or something. If its borderline, ask in a PM.

I'll accept everyone whos posted here. I can handle 6. The aspect of the dungeon was could be something like a trap or a room or a puzzle. Or it could be something as simple as "underwater." The rules there are particularly ambiguous so I get a wide variety of things. It can basically be any aspect of a dungeon that isn't a monster. If anyone wants to change their aspect or was confused by my poor instructions, PM me.

EDIT: I only have 3 entries for parts of the dungeon and monsters, but I have 6 adventurers here. If you haven't PM'd me soon, I'll just go on without.

Nah its cool.  :P  I'd like to start in a bit, so I may just have to go with what we got so far.

Character generation though. You get 5 points to distibute. 20 hp. The stats are strength, toughness, speed, and luck. Each start at one. You also get 20 gold of equipment (an average sword and an average armor set each cost 10. Feel free to get creative here, I can do price checks.) There is no magic this round. Maybe next round.

Yes you have five. They effect your damage done, speed taken, and the likelihood of a reroll.

The door it wood and mundane. Nothing to roll for yet.

Sneak behind one of the skeletons and simply grab and pull out it's rib cage, hopefully disassembling the whole thing.

[52] You get a grip on it, but the ribs just sort of break. 2 damage.

Its not really in turns, its more just have at it. The monsters attack after so many players attack, unless they roll for an ambush. Then they go first.

Were they carrying any weapons? I check for anything they may have been carrying that I could take with me. If no, I use my axe to snap off a leg bone off the skeleton I killed and carry it with me. It's a fair thing to base a torch on later if you have no sticks to wrap rags around.

No weapons. Not even clothes. Just bones.

You enter into the larger catacombs. A portcullis falls behind you, locking the group in. There is a circle filled with ash and burnt bones in the center of the room. It is large enough to fit one person. The circle is surrounded by red glowing runes. There are is a portcullis on the far wall. Both portcullis's are locked and have glowing runes on them as well. They are hot to the touch.

The area is completely devoid of all hidden goodies, traps and the like.

The bones look like they formed a body. They are still mostly body shaped.

I slowly poke the femur bone I'm holding into the circle, keeping it at arm's length. If just poking it into the perimeter does nothing, I instead gain a little distance and toss the bone straight onto the circle.

The bone does nothing. It seems that the runes only react to living fleshing. The poor guy who was in there last seems to be quite charred, but not undead.

Chop off own left pinkie finger with hand axe. Drink healing potion to stop bleeding and pain, and regain the hit points I lost fighting those skeletons. Then toss the finger into the runes and see what happens.

You throw your pinky into the runes. They glow. Fire shoots out of the walls and covers the entire room not inside the runes. All players take 5 damage. The pinky is the only thing not damaged.

Oh yeah, so he did. Here's an idea, why don't we all keep our character sheets in our posts and update them as our characters experience changes, such as damage and lose/find items?

That would be awesome if you guys could do that. It would make my life so much easier.

You stand there for a minute with a pained look on your face as you try to cast a healing spell. You don't know any spells. So you just look sorta silly.

((Ok, now THAT was a knee-jerk reaction.))

Observe the 'mole-dog'. Try to determine any pattern of behavior, fighting style, natural weapons, etc. that I can. Also, does it look like there are any tunnels about that it could have used/dug to get here?

Also thanks, that one is mine. When I used it on my psuedo-DND game, the players actually voted to sacrifice one of their members. They were sooo pissed.  :P

Your weapon determines the damage die you roll. I was giving you strength bonuses on normal attacks, but it ended up making everything go super slow. So I just made everyone's weapon do more to balance.

[Doesn't matter because it has 1 HP left] You slay the hemeral!

It glows every time someone passes by it. Besides that, it has no noticeable effects.

You pass in front of the two circles at the far end of the room. They glow orange for a second. There is a faint noise and there is some mist by the door. You do this again, and they glow, but the mist disappears. Its seems your options are mist or no mist.

Continue to stay put and keep shield up.

That would mean you are still in the fire room.
