Imagine a game where you are challenged to adept, where what you do may not only impact your experience, but those to follow in your place, and those beyond your current perception.

Explore a wide selection of worlds each created by someone different. Encounter puzzles and challenges that require you to strategize, backtrack, cooperate, and compete. Discover hidden plots and story arcs you can influence. This is an organic ongoing simulation and you redefine your role within it all in every action you take. You are not alone. Many will cross paths with you. No one's journey will be the same.

1. You can only be in one place at a time.
• Look at the Astranomicon below, check out the different realities. Pick where to start!
• To easily travel between bubbles(without starting over), pick one that can already go to others.

2. Gods may mess with you. I did warn you.
• Read about Freeplay, Encounter, and Discovery general reality types and decide which kind you'd like to play!

3. You can start over at any time, losing everything and able to pick a new place to start.
• If it is possible to die or otherwise "lose" in a reality, a god may have a penalty less severe than starting over.

4. Note where you are each post.
• It's easy! @1 = At bubble one! Some currencies will require you to keep track yourself.
• (Optional) Post the banner of a place you are going to for the first time. (See my next post for an example)

Assuring its grip, a climb the rope towards the floating island. The ocean waves getting smaller below me, I wonder what I may find as I glance back up to the growing object in the sky. Overcoming several moments of dizziness and disorientation, I shimmy up the grassy cliff, peering from side to side looking for beasts or unexpected threats.

"Well, something about this place piques my curiosity...  I'll be right back."

It's not a large building, so it isn't hard to find the makeshift equipment stand across from The Caretaker.  Old floorboards creak and groan as I make my way to the pitted counter and inspect the merchandise, such as it is.

I can just make out the silhouette of someone in the back, and I call out to them.  "Excuse me, are you Jeremy?  I'm Derek, just got off the boat, so to speak.  I was wondering what weapons are available for rent."

Fortunately,(Or unfortunately if you were some kind of adrenaline junkie,) you're only at the Surface, the barrier between Sky and Ocean. Looking around, you see only the tamest of creatures flying or swimming about. A red-crested bird lands on your shoulder and chirps in your ear as you make your way onto the sky island.

Currently the Battlefield is a thick forest, but without much vegetation other than trees and grass. You can hear metal clanging in the distance from most directions. The only creature you can see is someone with mostly basic equipment like you trying to sneak around by moving through trees, but not doing it very well. They haven't seen you yet.

I couldn't help but be unsettled by the way the locals looked at me.  I could feel them picking me apart with their eyes, searching for weakness.  I wondered, how many hundreds had they seen come through here, eager like me, only to never return from the wild?  Was I already seen as just another casualty?

Despite my unease, I resolved to be friendly.  "I'll take a bow, thanks.  And I'll be getting that dinner for you, I suppose.  Any special requests?  Nice meeting you, Jeremy."

After hearing Jeremy's reply, I grinned and held up my bow and ammunition as I approached The Caretaker.  "Alright, I've got my weapon.  Have you got any work for me?  I've heard some interesting things about the Howling Plateaus, if you've got anything in that area."

As you and your submarine dive further and further in to the depths, you see probably hundreds of different kinds of sea creatures. Fish, squid, crabs, turtles, You even think you see a family of seahorses, camouflaged amongst the coral on the islands. None of these things would probably classified as "mean", though.

But finally, diving down further, where it starts becoming a little bit hard to see, swimming over a particularly flat island, are two sharks. The two sharks are fighting over territory, it would seem. It would make sense; they are a bit larger than the fish above, who shared their islands.

The section of the Wastes you emerge into is particularly verdant; There's a thick layer of plants covering most surfaces, and, while there are sure to be animals, most of the life here seems to be vegetation. Most of it seems to be relatively mundane, but a few plants here and there appear metallic and stiff, and there's vines above that seem to be using insectoid wings to stay aloft. Also notable a a few of the trees, which seem equipped with long teeth and long membranous manes running down their branches. The air hangs with a foul odor, no doubt the result of the rotting fruits on the ground. You can see the very edge of this zone a good distance away through the trees, and a small clearing dominated by a tree in the opposite direction. Alternatively, you could simply explore or hunt in the lush area between the two.

The sharks looking of the regular variety, are not worthy of my attention. Deeper I go...
Leaving the two sharks to fight for dominance, you adventure deeper into the Waterrealm. Getting a bit hard to see, now. Travelling between two notably large yet vertical slices of rock, you get the feeling you're stepping in to truly dangerous territory. Strange invertebrates float around your vessel, you see another shark consume a stray fish in one bite, a purple starfish somehow got itself attached to one of your windows.

The lights go out.

After a few tense seconds, in which the submarine nearly crashes into the left rock, the power comes back on and you can see again. Steering sharply away from a watery grave, you look at the battery charge. It's draining fast. Very fast. If you don't find the cause soon, you'll quickly end up a drowned corpse in a crashed boat in an infinite ocean.

The caretaker directs you to the Commission Board. "Try learning the lay of the land around here first, they're called the Howling Plateaus for a reason. There's no bottom to those canyons, once you fall you'll be Howling forever." As you walk away you think you hear a soft chuckle, but you cannot be sure. The Commission Board has several standing quests:

1) Hunt two Great Moose: 4 CT (Repeatable every few days)
2) Clear out a nearby goblin camp: 7 CT (repeatable every week)
3) Dinner for Jeremy- hunt a game animal (repeatable every meal time)
4) Kill a dire wolf: 10 CT (repeatable weekly)

In addition the Commission Board states that the Wildlife Reserve will buy food at the following amounts:
1 Great Moose corpse: 2CT
3 Rabbit: 1 CT
1 Wyrm corpse: 15 CT

With your weapon in hand you step outside. Its a beautiful pine forest, it smells fresh and wild. There are no monsters immediately around. A few hotsprings are nearby.

I walk towards the clearing, dagger in hand. If I see any interesting animals or plants on the way, I stand at a safe distance and examine them.
Creeping softly through the underbrush, you approach the clearing. There are small disturbances in the air as you get closer, half-formed images like dreams flitting in and out of existence. It takes you a moment to notice, then, that one of the distortions isn't changing, isn't false. It's not large, perhaps roughly the size of a house-cat. It has a roughly equine form, though the details are sloppy and fluid, flesh shifting and wobbling as it strides close to the ground. It's twitching, and a grotesquely long tongue lolls from its smooth, sharp jaws. You pause, and your hand brushes against a bluish plant. Your mind feels like it's been set aflame, though it fades quickly after your instinctive spasm brings your hand away from the shrub. However, it seems the beast noticed, as its head snaps to attention, its tongue beginning to dart to and fro like a snake's as it begins to drip an amber liquid. The creature begins to waver, its form growing blurry and jumping from side to side as it moves toward you, and you s͟ud̨d͟e҉nl̸y̧ reaĺi̛z̢e t̵h́at ̴it͜ m̸e͘ans͝ ͜o h̶ar̴m,͢ a̡n͏d́, ͞in façt̕,͜ has ̢wànt͡ȩd͠ ̛to h͏elp̶ o͘ne su̶ch ͟as̴ ̡y҉o̢u ͢fo̢r͟ ̨a l͘o̵ng͞ t҉im͟e̶.҉ What do you do?

A short distance to the north you find tracks. At first you didn't recognize them, but they are definitely tracks. However, they are the larges tracks you have ever seen. Each one is is over a foot wide and almost six inches deep. You're coming to understand why they call it a Great Moose...

The tracks lead west into the thicket.

I hum as loudly as possible, and cover my ears as best I can with one hand. If the creature attacks, I will use my free hand to stab it with the dagger.
Wisely realizing that it's messing with your mind, you attempt to block it out physically by covering your ears. This proves rather difficult with only one arm, but you manage. You can still feel it though, feel those thoughts that aren't yours whispering things you don't know. It's getting close now, its shimmering form only an arm's length away. As it approaches further, it. Its tongue lashes out, striking you squarely across the chest and leaving a long streak of amber goo slathered across your clothes. You return with a quick jab with your dagger, cutting a thin line along its side. Coppery flesh and ichor sloughs from the wound for a moment, though the wound is already beginning to weave itself shut. The thoughts in your head quickly become more urgent and louder, swelling to a far louder volume. ÝǪ̸̕͝U̧͜ ̶̵̨́̕D̴̕͟͜Ó̶͘͝͠N̸̵̡͘͘'̡̀T̴͟ ̢́̀͟W̶̧͡A͠͏͘͟͠N̵̸̛͜͠T̴̕ ̵̧͡͠T̷͏҉O̸̡͢͡ ̴̴͢͠H̵̶̢U̶͠R̵̷T̛́͘͜͢ ͏̷́̀̕I̸̵͟͠T́̕͟͠͞.̷̡́͢ The goop, having soaked into your shirt, is causing a tingling effect in your chest, and you're feeling more and more drowsy as time goes on. You can still stick it out, but you should probably deal with it soon. What do you do?

((Whoops.))

The first priority, of course, is to get my shirt off and wipe whatever sedative remains away from my skin. If there's still time after that, use the shirt as a glove, in order to grab a leaf from that mind-burning plant I encountered before. Should the creature attempt to lick me again, block it with my shirt, pack or dagger.

Everything quite, I listen for any unusual sounds.
You crouch down in your seat, trying to focus your senses on hearing. You close your eyes, and take in the sound of the ocean. The silent hum of your submarine's turbines, the faint sloshing as it moves through the watery expanse.. it would almost be peaceful, if you weren't in mortal danger. You open your eyes for just a moment to steer your vessel from the rocky wall. Just how big are these two islands? You listen harder.

There! A faint.. you don't know what to call it. It's like two hollow rocks being rubbed against each other. In any case, it's near the back of the submarine, and, as you move towards it, you can hear it being accompanied by the sound of static sparks. This is definitely what's causing the power failure.

(I activated a mechanism to make my sub light and go up really really fast!)

(probably filling up cavities with gases extracted from the water)
As you travel farther and farther away from the depths of the ocean, you realize the fact that there are multiple islands of rock between you and the surface. Quickly scrambling to the driver's seat, you pull up and-

-just barely miss the entire front of your ship being smashed into pieces by a particularly sharp rock. That was a close one. The rest of your journey goes, well, not quite as close as the first time, but still, you can feel your heartbeat as you steer the submarine away from fish, sharks, and more islands.

Finally, after braving the depths of the Waterrealm, you emerge at the surface. Your ship is going to need repairs after this, and that high-speed surfacing used up the last of your power. However, you don't hear that stone-rubbing sound anymore, so that must mean whatever was causing the power failure must have been thrown off during the-

CRASH

-holy those are a lot of tentacles.

The gigantic anemone begins to rip out the entire top of two thirds of your submarine, revealing to you it's host in all of his magnificent, chitinous glory. Say hello to Astrapius, a thirty-five feet long utter monster of a boxer crab, with enough electricity in one sting to paralyze a man for life, even if his life wasn't drastically shortened by the giant crushing claws this guy has. No wonder you surfaced so slowly compared to before. Well, good luck.

Oh, don't look so in despair. At least you got a badge out of of this.

I quickly fire a hookshot at an island just like before, except this this I set the crank to pull the whole ship out of the water! I am not too concerned about getting shocked, as my garbs should protect me, however getting crushed is not a part of the plan. The solar energy recharging my ship enough to operate the crank, I focus on dodging crustation on the ever ascending laden platform.

question: do any realities have people/natives good with technology?

Well... It depends. The Dreamscape's tech level is largely variable- you'll find everything, from crude clubs, to gizmos that seem almost magical. As a general rule of thumb, the more arcane the concept, the harder it is to find. You'll be finding plenty of strange and unique items, but none of them have been produced en-masse, simply because not everyone dreams of guns made for the sole purpose of turning walruses pink.

((speaking of I request a connection to the dreamscape. I would prefer trade be possible between us.))

((This sounds good, although we would need to discuss how much the our realities will bleed into each other. I don't want the card system to be a big thing in the dreamscape (it's what makes your reality unique, after all), and I imagine you would be hesitant about letting the dream physics or nonsensical items into Dealal.))

((Also, it's probably best to discuss connections in the Astronomicon, rather than of derailing this.))

((XXXXYYYY, just checking to make sure you saw my action.))
((Oops. I'll write up a turn in a moment.))
((ALRIGHT, TURN EDITED IN:))
Your first order of business is, of course, to get this sedative off your skin before you drop unconscious and get eaten by a glorified lump of flesh. This is done surprisingly quickly, and you manage to get it off and wipe up most of the glop before the creature manages to seal its wound and attack you again. You take the opportunity to grab a sprig of the bluish plant using your shirt, but the moment after you grab it the beast lashes out again. Instinctively, you bring your arm up to block it and its tongue slaps into your balled-up shirt and, shortly after, the plant's leaves.
The creature screams.
It falls, spasming on the ground, and you can feel a shadow of its pain secondhand as it wails mentally. Its mind, specialized in connecting to others, has come into contact with something designed by chance to protect itself by burning the minds of those it touches. This is a rather unfortunate occurrence for the beast, to say the least.
What do you do?

((Sorry for cutting this a bit short, gotta eat soon.))

Astrapius is currently on the part of your ship he didn't rip out. I do not imagine your hookshot would be able to pull that much weight, solar energy or not.

"that much weight"

Whos ship is this anyway? This happens to be made of very durable and light materials!

@9

Seeing the creature weighing down my ascent, I decide to get creative. "So you like my energy huh, fetch boy!"

I launch a decoy, routing 80% of the ships remaining charge to it(leaving just enough to keep pulling my ship up as it itself recharges from the sun... If the beast takes the bate).

Your ship may be durable and light, but this is a boxing crab around the size of a three-story building. Add the fact it also has giant living anemones for hands... not exactly "lightweight".

Your distraction provides a bit of decoy, enough for it to almost be contented and calmly fall of your submarine to return back into the depths of the Waterrealm, but even 80% isn't very substantial when most of your power was already sucked up. You do manage to get him dangling onto your sub by one tentacled hand. This makes the weight of your ship just barely under the maximum weight your grappling hook can take. Unfortunately, with the way physics is, this tilts your submarine so that you start sliding towards the gigantic crustacean. You submarine will get to the floating island in two turns.

After purchasing my first little lambs for my flock, three of them, two girls and a boy, and planting barley seeds for a couple days, while doing the basic maintenance on the house, fence, and tools o the trade, I sit on the front porch along the main throughway and watch the passersby, whoever or whatever they be.

I set the recharge rate vs energy expendature to not go above 30%.

The decoy continues to travel further, sparking and crackling with delicious energy.

I begin working on my escape into the DreamScape.

"ACTIVATE PORTAL!"

@12

At first, the portal in front of your hand appears to be nothing more than a large, gravity-defying mirror. A doorway not to some other, separate existence, but to a mirror image of this world. Even as your sub tosses and turns, torn between the currents of the ocean, and the pull of a titanic crab, it seems to remain still, exuding some sort of unearthly silence. Even you, someone born as a traveler between worlds, do not know what that silence signifies. Some say it is a product of the Void, others of death itself. Right now, it's really just a side-effect of your escape route.

Only now does the portal begin showing its more unique qualities. A glowing, ill-defined mist has risen from its surface, popping with swirls of a thousand different colors. While you would gladly wait for the window to clear, signifying a stable, safe connection, it appears you will be denied that luxury. The crab has turned away from your distraction, and begins to crush your sub. Bidding a silent goodbye to your craft, you jump into the portal, hoping against hope that you will arrive safely.

Transit seems different than it has been before, which, you suspect, is largely due to the hasty creation of your portal. Instead of an instantaneous, seamless journey, you travel for several minutes, glimpsing in the rift between world things you can barely remember or describe. The vision of a thousand worlds, different from any you have seen before, is practically seared into your skull.

Finally, you arrive in your destination- the Dreamscape. You are safe and sound, if a little unsteady from your journey. It might not be the best idea to travel on the spot- it will do, in a pinch, but you imagine there's only so much your brain can take.

Looking around you determine that you are in a field, not of grass, but of gravel. It isn't what you'd call a large place- only twelve feet across, and surrounded by what, upon closer inspection, seem to be trees, made entirely of some graying stone. The sky above is overcast, and an aura of depression or loneliness seems to hang over the entire place.

As you look toward the center of the field, you find something completely unexpected. There, sticking out like a sore thumb in the midst of all this gloominess, is a Christmas tree, lit brightly and festively for a holiday that, as far as you know, won't be coming to the Dreamscape for at least six months.

@12 bt1 {9}

I stand up and draw out a blade, I put it up against my heart, pull back and...

...I stop myself.

As a traveler of realities, I know the value of a vessel such as what was just lost. It is infact more valuable than this incarnation of myself... however...

...perhaps it is worth a moment to see if my dream vessel also exists here, if there was some subtle truth to the "oddly reflective" portal.

I walk up to the tree and look for any presents, especially ones with the name "Eye".

Use the sprig to keep it subdued, and slice its head off with my dagger. I don't enjoy killing, but I fear that this creature will, if left alive, recover and attack me once again.

Assuming there aren't any complications, it's loot time. I stow the sprig in one pocket of my pack, and the sedative-soaked shirt in another. If the creature's body retains any noteworthy properties, take a sample of that for good measure.
