Title: has anyone noticed this?

In my civilization screen, this is shown with the goblin civ:

Exports to [civ name]: Terror
Offerings from [civ name]: Vengeance

My god, that is amazing. Now the Kobolds:

Exports to [civ name]: Petty annoyance
Offerings frim [civ name]: Death

And how do you get offerings from a civ? Nobody except the goblins and kobolds have offered me anything, and I'm pretty sure they don't count.

So far as I know, they never offe you anything.  They're only too happy to accept trinkets from you, though.

The [civ name] is in fact YOUR civ name, not theirs. So the 'offerings' counts what you have offered them, not what they have offered you. It makes sense, because kobolds 'export' a petty annoyance to you, and usually are 'offered' death.

To Armok!... just when I thought I at least knew about all major DF features, if still being novice at them! This is hilarious and also I finally found where I can view trade agreements!  :D to this point I scratched them down to a paper notepad...

My god, have I found some slightly obscure HIDDEN FUN STUFF? That makes two HFSs this week for us DF players, if you include "Dwarf cancels spar in barracks: too insane." Toady, make more!

I had completely forgotten about those messages.  But, that's probably got something to do with the fact that I haven't played DF for more than a month now (okay, so I've been playing Oblivion.  Stone me already).

I do remember that I found them rather early on.  Got a kick out of them, too.

However, I don't know if the "trade agreements" change to something similar if you piss off the other races, like elves and humans.


Elves:

Exports to Dwarven Fortress:  Pointy arrows.
Offerings from Dwarven Fortress:  Closed doors.
