Title: An appropriate artifact
Post by: Silverionmox on May 25, 2008, 02:39:00 pm
This is a Pig tail thong. [...] This object menaces with spikes of Silver. On the item is an image of two narrow crescents in Pig tail.
On the item is an image of a dwarf and dwarves in Glumprong. The dwarf is surrounded by the dwarves.
On the item is an image of minotaurs in turtle shell.

Named: Aroz Rilem, "The Savageries of Youth"

I had a platinum right gauntlet once, decorated in gems and more platinum.
What do I do with a platinum right gauntlet???
Besides make a champion into a dwarven Michael Jackson.
The only good thing I got out of this was a legendary armorer, but I have a problem with the lack of coal and iron, thus forcing me to make absolutely everything metal and armory out of copper and bronze using charcoal. If only I could use all the gold, platinum, and aluminum I found to make something useful and non-decorative.

The usefulness of artifacts is a problem. It helps to make sure that every dwarf has a desirable skill as highest one. So that means only make dwarves that are already legendary engravers etc.

Make expensive stuff and sell it for iron ore.

I've was buying iron with all my craft-products, but the lack of coal means I was deforesting huge areas to make goods from it.
The point is since moot since the fortress in question was killed by 3 concurrent goblin ambushes.
