PTW to see redshirts die (and probably join myself once I get myself killed).Quick! Self-Terminate!
Oh definitely PTW. Need to be on the lookout for any clues.
((Real time?))TRAM LEAVES IN...12 HOURS!
Yup((Real time?))TRAM LEAVES IN...12 HOURS!
"Things I am:So doomed."Ya gotta get on the tram, ma'am.
"Yikes...Well, then. We should all stick together..."
You find them."Yikes...Well, then. We should all stick together..."
“I second that notion.” Trier said as he ran his hands over his gauss rifle in the hope that the overcharge button would be in the same place as it was on his previous service weapon. Finishing that search, he asked the motley group around him, “So, what do you think, left door or center door?”
Look for overcharge and undercharge buttons on the gauss rifle.
“Center works for me.”
Open the center door and see what horrors come screaming out.
Walk over to the red plastic and examine it using my various vision modes. After that, open the door to the right. The plastic appears to be normal plastic from all vision modes. It's a thin piece of plastic film, bright red, slightly springy and stretchy, something like plastic wrap. There's part of a bit of writing on it. What looks like a "D" and then part of an "A".
Follow MidnightJaguar, and morph my pimpcane into a shield. You morph the cane into...well it's more of a big malformed slab of metal than a real shield but hey, it works.
((Hey pw, cheat sheep for your convenience (http://einsteinianroulette.wikia.com/wiki/Deep_Infirmary_Search_Duty/CS).))Thanks for this, by the way. You wiki gnomes are a godsend.
Attempt to see through the plastic with X-ray mode.
"Hmmm. Well, we are all wearing suits right? So, we should be safe from any pathogens."You tear open the plastic with your hands, ripping a hole through the seal. Inside the room, which is about the size of a large closet, is a hastily made pile of body bags. They appear to have been just thrown in and sealed with little consideration to dignity.
Break through the plastic if everyones wearing suits. If not move to the next door.
I'm wearing mine. You morph the cane into a great big stabbing stick and jab it into one of the bags. It punctures it with relative ease and elicits a puff of gray powder from the hole. There's also a slight hiss of escaping pressure.
Change pimpcane into a sharp stick, and start poking the bags. Hope something doesn't try to poke back.
Trier startled by this puff of dust snarled, "Shit Zaek! What the fucking hell did you do? This is just like that one time a sod thought that a bottle of poison sticking out of a cupcake was a decoration and brought it to my office as a gift."Nothing of interest.
Start cycling through vision modes while scanning the room and then join in the loot fest
"Just making sure it stays dead. This is the doctor's area, after all. No telling what could happen."Start looking for one of those datapads. Check the corpses, just in case.No data pads, not in the room nor on the exterior of the body bags. Unless of course you want to tear into the bags or unzip them. So far someone's stabbed them, but that would only let you dig in a bit to one of them.
"I suppose."Yeah, it's working.
Make sure the positioning program is working in case pathing out urgently is needed.
Allow Arty(Maegil) access to biometrics.
"We've been frozen for eons, what's another minute of waiting?"Allowing
Allow Maegil to look at my biofeed
Still on the tram, Arty shakes himself out of his lethargy and goes in search of the others. Seeing movement beyond a place marked as quarantined, he heads there. You join up with the others and connect to their suit's biosensors.
"Sigh. Guys, you're aware that once this area was violated we can't return without going through a bio-decontamination shower, right? Anyway, I have a medical monitoring program installed, if you let me access your biometric feeds I can keep track of your vital signs."
Try to connect to the team's data. Examine the body in the open bag, try to determine cause of death.
"In a sec"There's not enough free space in this room to lay them all out so you just grab one and lay it out. A quick search with x-ray shows nothing but the skeleton. You open the body bag and find an another shrink wrap seal inside it, around what appears to be a very burnt skeleton and a good deal of ash.
Lay all the bags out on the floor. Then, use my X-ray mode to see if I can find anything of interest before opening them up.
Allow Arty access to biometrics.
"Mmmm... Not much to see here, they tried to destroy the agent with fire?... Why not completely incinerate the bodies instead of bagging them, that would have been both neater and more certain. I gather you've already looked about for the data?" See if there are no notes behind the furniture, taped to the underside of drawers, and other such hiding places. Also keep an eye out for surgical instruments or medical implements of any kind, Arty might be able to derive some information on what happened from the type of equipment around. Grab any usable portable equipment and stash it in the backpack. If there's a gurney about, take it, putting available heavier equipment on it.Well there's no furniture in here...it's just an empty room stacked with bodies, so no. There's really nothing in here but bodies. And sometimes thats just gonna be the case. Not every room will be particularly meaningful or stuffed with goodies, hidden or otherwise.
"Man, this is now exactly like that sod incident."
On to the room down the hall.
Follow Jaguar into the next roomThe next room, the one at the end of the hall, is fairly small as well, only about the size of a walk in closet, though it has two exits, one on the left wall and one on the right. In the center of the room is what looks like a par of iron boots, but split in half. They look like some strange sort of bear trap, clearly designed to close around the feet of whoever steps into them and hold that person still. Though for what purpose, you're not really sure. The entire room is tiled with thick, heavy looking white tiles that, judging by their appearance, are almost brand new. Between these tiles are what look like small metal pipes, or maybe nozzles, that jut out a few inches into the room. Around the corners of the room, collecting on the edges and in between the tiles of the floor, is a fine gray powder.
Follow. Check for computers. No sign of any computers yet.
You know, getting out of here is a good idea and that door is open.
““Hmm,”” Tire mused, ““grey powder in the corners of the room and grey powder on the bodies.”” Suddenly struck by a horrible realization, he quickly radioed the rest of the team. “Hey guys, I’m pretty sure that whatever it was that killed those people came from these nozzles.” Having now performed his civic duty as a doctor and warned the public of any risk factors in the environment, he threw open the left door and dived in as Zaek placed his counterfeit boots in the trap. You two decide that perhaps it is best not to be in this room and instead exit out the left door. The door leads to a hallway, 3 doors on the left, one at the end. Sitting in the hallway is a metal cart, the kind which holds medicine and surgical tools in an operating room. The drawers of the cart have been removed and are laying haphazardly around the room, along with dozens of scalpels, forceps, clamps, rolls of gauze, unopened sterile needles, and bags of saline.
Open left door and enter the room
Arty will follow the team and look around the room, crouching to examine dust. "I wish I had something to safely take a sample... If you have to pin someone to a spot like that, you can bet it's not something you want on, or in, you. Be careful with that, guys."You walk through the right door. It opens onto a hall with two doors to the right and one at the end. But you can see from here that the one at the end isn't the actual end of the hall, it's just a door set into the wall. The hallway turns sharply to the left and continues into unseen territory.
Prepare the weapon and open the door in the right. If mayhem does not ensue, go in and examine the room.
"I'm poking that trap."[5]
Morph Pimpcane into boot shape, poke trap.
You might want to keep an eye on my biosigns for a while. A gas is being pumped into this room, and I doubt its effects on me will be positive.
I am alone in here, and I think that you will need to wait a few moments before trying to open the door. They are currently locked, and will likely stay that way until the process is complete.
Examine some of that gray powder while I wait.On closer inspection, it appears to be a very fine ash.
Grab a knifey thing. Just in case. You pick up the biggest scalpel you can find. Not exactly the most deadly of weapons but...well...probably better than nothing. You can give something a wicked... minor laceration.
Check the cart's drawers and then try to break through the iced up door. The cart's drawers have very little left in them; most of it was sprayed around the room when they were pulled out. It's more of the same, general medical tools and supplies. Nothing interesting.
"Damn! There goes stealth, and I'm all alone... " Arty thinks to himself. he steps away from the door from which he came.
Dropping into a stabilizing crouch, he keeps the weapon ready while listening for movement on the rooms along the corridor. He keeps in mind that the guy with the cane may have been transformed into some aberration like those he saw on the files, and he might have to kill him.
If there are no sounds from the rooms, he'll open the first one; if there is something in one he'll open the other; if both seem to have occupants, he'll stay put, alert, and silent, while waiting for the doors to open, as the other guy also might be actually OK.
If the door opens and Zormod's character is mutated or behaving (more) abnormally (than usual),shootkill him first andask questionsautopsy him later.
The gray powder is ash. I do not regret this occurrence.
Look over the ball of ice with my vision modes and then pick it up.You flip through your vision modes. Thermal shows that it's cold, big surprise. X-ray shows not a whole lot; whatever it is it's dense enough to prevent you from getting a good look inside it. Motion tracking and infrared don't really help either.
Morph pimpcane into pimpcane. You return the pimp cane to pimp cane form.Quote from: Zek'thal to:TeamThe gray powder is ash. I do not regret this occurrence.
"What do you have over there, anyway?"You see Trier step into the room and then stumble back a few seconds later, a great crescent gash in his chest. He stumbles and collapses, sliding heavily down the wall and landing in a sitting position, his chest heaving rapidly. You run over to help him and just as you're about to examine the wound, the hall shakes violently. The door leading back the way you came, the one that slammed shut behind you and separated you from the other half of your team, explodes open, and a wall of flame and smoke rolls down the hall. The fire dies before it reaches you but the shockwave knocks you flat on your back and the entire hallway becomes a blind haze of black smoke. Your ears are ringing and everything sounds distant and muffled, as though you're underwater.
Lock the door; keep an ear out for what's going on outside. If someone calls for Arty, answer. You close the door and you're just sitting down at the terminal when something explodes very near by. The entire room shakes; you have to brace yourself on the desk to stop from falling out of your chair and the shelf of robots swings back and forth uneasily, threatening to fall. You get up and catch it, pushing it back against the wall before it falls on you.
Make a cursory search on the computer for logs. See if I can understand what kind of program is connected to the shelves, and if there is a control interface. Upload a backup to the cloud or save a compressed version on the wrist pad. Take a couple of the robots and put them in the backpack; if I can assign them to do my bidding, activate a third.
Curl into a ball, and morph Pimpcane into a cocoon.I'm afraid you're unconscious. Possibly dead. We'll have to have someone else look in there, since you can't observe yourself right now.
"Crap! Man down, some sort of hostile thing probably on the loose, and I have bad hearing now!""Dr. Arty here, I'm on my way!"
You stuff a few robots into your bag and open the door. Smoke floods into the room, and you step out into the hall, waving your hands to try and clear some of the haze. You fumble your way back down the hall. You stub your toe against something and squint to see what it is; it's the upper half of a door, along with most of one of your teammates. His suit seems to have taken the heat of the explosion quite well, but the force of it was something else. One of his legs is gone about halfway up the shin, the other is broken in a few places and he seems to have been knocked out cold. His vital signs are sporadic, probably internal bleeding, maybe lung hemorrhaging."Crap! Man down, some sort of hostile thing probably on the loose, and I have bad hearing now!""Dr. Arty here, I'm on my way!"
Arty puts a couple of robots in the backpack, readies the weapon and open the door. Keeping an eye out for surprises coming from the corridor, he goes back to the boots room.
Arty checks the vital signs through the monitoring system, and broadcast "Zek is also down, please stand by or bring the wounded here. Did you see any medical supplies?" If he's still alive, look at the vital signs for indications of a pneumothorax or a cardiac tamponade; see if there's anything I can do for him; if not, and Zek isn't completely crushed (as opposed to having just a few broken ribs or a flail chest), try increasing the O2 level in his suit and a cardiac massage - it might be futile, but it still has a chance of working.
Keep the weapon at hand at all times.
"Hey… Mycroft… I have an Idea…" Here Trier trailed off and gasped for air. Recovering he continued "It involves you giving me that can of medifoam you have and me not dying. Also, I guess you were right there are a lot of sharp things here." At this he once again trailed off weakly laughing and continued his desperate struggle to breath. You spray some Medifoam into the puncture hole in your arm and the great gash in your chest. It burns, it burns so fucking much. You pound your fist against the ground and scream as best you can with one lung. Eventually, days later if your mental reckoning is correct, it finishes expanding and hardens up. You can't breathe that well, but you can at least suck a breath in without it oozing out through your chest in bloody bubbles. There's no pain killers in the hall, but you bandage up the injuries as best you can with Mycroft's help.
Patch myself up using the medical supplies scattered around the hallway and Mycroft's medifoam if he gives it to me.
((I'm not complaing or anything (merely curious) but have I gotten a roll for this mission so far, or have I not had to because of my +1 to med and endurance?))oh yeah you had rolls for lots of things. Dex rolls for the attempts to dodge the ice octopus, end rolls for when you got hit, not to mention the med roll you just had. I just don't normally show rolls
"Well I guess I'm not running cross country any time soon. A well, it hurts less than that one time I got beaten by a sod in a high stakes game of poker. When I come to think of it, I can't actually remember why a sod was in our poker game but oh well his commander was drunk so that probably explains it. Also, Mycroft what are you talking about? We still have to loot things. "
Check the first door to the right of the iced up room. Resist being evacuated
Evacuate everyone to the tram ASAP.Apply medifoam to the other guy if there's any left.Follow doctor's orders. Which are to apply medifoam (and loosen the tourniquet). Huh.
"All right, not dying before the universe does is probably a good idea. We should get out of here."
Try to wake up.You wake up with a start, try to sit up and then immediately regret it as your injuries make themselves known.
Arty quickly assesses Zak's situation: lacking coagulant boosters or even splints, there isn't much he can do for Zek without removing his suit - which, given the previous activities with quarantined corpses, might be worse than simply letting him die temporarily. For now, Arty decides to use his backpack's strap as a makeshift tourniquet on the missing leg, tightening it with the pimp cane.
Finally, he takes the weapon and leaves to look for the others to continue the triage. Finding Mycroft, Arty says "Mycroft, it's good to see you in one piece. Where's Trier? Did you see any medical supplies? Zek urgently needs coagulant boosters, or he might not last long; splints, plasma and a strong aerosol disinfectant would also be nice."
"Right, just put a layer of foam on the stump and loosen the tourniquet. I'll be back soon."
Arty goes to the next room. Smiling wanly at Trier, he says "Trier, you look like shit, man. Did you fix yourself up? Let me check those..."
Check Trier. "Looks good enough for now. I need some supplies, Zak's in a bad shape." Scavenge for supplies, grabbing anything that might look useful, specially look for the items listed above. If some coagulant booster is found, immediately go back to Zak and use it.
"That's it for this run, right guys?""Well, Trier doesn't seem to want to leave yet, and I agree that we could scout a bit more before declaring the mission a failure.
"Oh, I'm alive. Okay, so the boottrap is explosive. Thank you for the medical attention, Arty. I owe you one.""There's no need for thanks, I just did what anyone should... Anyway, you're not going anywhere on those legs right now, and from the sensor readings I fear that you probably have some internal bleeding; can you transform the cane into a gurney?"
Check my limbs. How hurt are they?
"I'm up for that plan. I'll need someone to lean on, though."
Move toward the hallway Trier is in, using the pimpcane as a cane."Here, let me help you... No, don't try to stand, really, don't. You've one leg left, and it's broken into several bits; at the very least I guarantee you'll fail, you'll probably also make it worse and end up fainting from the pain."
"Oh, I'm alive. Okay, so the boottrap is explosive. Thank you for the medical attention, Arty. I owe you one."Well lets see, you're missing one leg and the other is broken. So thats an end roll, even with a cane.Check my limbs. How hurt are they?
Move toward the hallway Trier is in, using the pimpcane as a cane. When I get there, morph cane to encase the creature.
Trier recovering from his coughing fit groaned before speaking "Hey! Zaek I have a way to get the bastard that did this to me and it might net us some profit. Okay so behind that iced up door, there is an incredibly fast and pissed off razor octopus. I need you to take that pimp cane of yours and make a wall over the entrance. Then when I hit the button that opens the door you will slowly move your pimp-wall into the room so that it can’t slip out and slowly contract it into a sphere around the thing thus trapping so that we can either kill it or give it to R&D. While all this is happening, Dr. Arty and I will be standing with guns trained on the door to kill it if it does somehow slip around. So what do you say? Want to help a fellow ARM member out?"
Check my chest does it feel like I’m internally hemorrhaging or has it stopped? Regardless move to the side of the wall facing the door and wait for Zaek to do his thing.
You help get him set up near the door before going back to look for the other leg. You find....pieces of it. But unfortunately most of it has either been vaporized or reduced to the consistency of sloppy joe meat."I'm up for that plan. I'll need someone to lean on, though."Move toward the hallway Trier is in, using the pimpcane as a cane."Here, let me help you... No, don't try to stand, really, don't. You've one leg left, and it's broken into several bits; at the very least I guarantee you'll fail, you'll probably also make it worse and end up fainting from the pain."
Arty helps Zek to a wall near the door, and uses his backpack as a reclining pillow.
"That should leave you somewhat more comfortable. Sorry for the lumpiness, I got a few little robots in there."
Look for, and give him his other leg. Crouch into a stabilizing posture and poise the weapon.
Arty shakes his head, saying: "sorry, Zek, I went to look for your leg, but there's not enough of it left to reimplant."You grab the nearest chunk of door and drag it over, propping it up against the wall. You crouch down behind it, peeking out just enough so that you can aim your weapon at the door.
If the others continue with the plan, he'll fetch a piece of the door to use as a shield, stand by Zek, away from the door, crouching into a stabilizing posture and readying the weapon in the "diffuse" shotgun setting. If not, ask Zek: "right, can you turn the cane into a gurney, or at least a stretcher... Or do you intend to pogo stick around?"
EDITED
Have a sturdy object between my vital bits and the door, if he can't be stopped by rational argument. Have the medifoam ready in either case. You crouch down behind the door your teammate very thoughtfully dragged over. You hope it is robust enough to stop whatever they're going to let out.
"You are MISSING A LEG, someone's ALMOST DIED TO THAT THING ALREADY, and YOU WANT TO CATCH IT?! ARGH! On your own head be it!"
"Alright Zek, just to refresh everyones memory first you make a Pimpwall in front of the door before I open the door, it slides open so it should not be a problem. Then, when I open the door, you slowly move this wall forward gradually contracting it around the razor octopus until its trapped inside a sphere. Dr Arty and I will be kneeling near the door with guns trained ready to kill it if anything goes wrong."You take up position beside the door, leaning on the wall for support. As soon as everyone is into their positions you press the button to open the door.
Take my position by the door. Open it when everyone is in position and Zek has his pimpwall formed.
"Oh. Well, I'm still alive at least. Mostly. Hey everybody, I'm about to open the door. Be ready, please."[exo 1]
Wait for everyone to get into position, and then open the door to encase the creature with the cane.
"Zek, please turn the cane into a gurney, if you can. I'll be right back. Guys, let's find whatever that thing is guarding, please cover me. Let's first make sure there aren't any more of those things."Oh no, the thing is a puddle of warm water on the floor. If it's regenerating, it's doing a very bad job of it.
With the rifle still in diffuse mode, verify if that thing is actually dead or if it's regenerating. If there's any activity, shoot it again immediately.
If it's really dead, methodically check the room for other guards. Finish checking before looking for data, medical supplies and equipment, and general loot.
Get. Out. Of. Here.
Take the badly injured guy to the tram.
"Alright. I think I've had enough near death experiences for now, anyway. Just don't forget to loot the room for me."You two both head back to the tram.
Morph pimpcane into a gurney. Lay on gurney.
Trier impressed with this display of marksmanship was suddenly moved to say a phrase, a compliment, long forgotten from the days when he was young and would watch the family's troubleshooters exchange either compliments or insults after gunfights with the police. "Nice shooting Tex." He said to Arty and then laughed at his own joke. The room to the far left of the iceopus is a small closet with metal shelving built into the walls. It's completely empty, except for a single syringe sitting on the bottom, right hand shelf.
Explore the rooms next to the former lair of the fearsome Iceopus destroyer of ribcages, and ignore Mycroft’s ever-increasing pleas to leave.
Arty examines the robots' flamethrower and see if he can use them to release the datapad. If he can't, see if someone is more knowledgeable with it. ((Zek has aux+1))"Well give me a second, Dr. Arty I just noticed a locked room, if I can't get this open myself, would you mind helping me open it with that blaster rifle of yours?"
If Zek is also unable to figure it out, ask him to turn the pimpcane into a pickaxe; use it to break the ice while taking care not to hit the pad.
Once the datapad is retrieved, go looking for Trier with the weapon prepared, show it to him and ask: "I've got it, shall we head back?"
Head back to the tram.
Rest until someone contacts me. Be as helpful as I can be. If I need to move on my own, morph the cane into a prosthetic leg.((The good doctor would never dream of making you move on that leg except on the most dire emergencies, he will rather go to you if needed.))
If Zek'thal is contacted for help with any flame spewing mechanisms, he enthusiastically answers.
"Hell yeah, I can help with that! I'll get there as fast as I can!"
"Well give me a second, Dr. Arty I just noticed a locked room, if I can't get this open myself, would you mind helping me open it with that blaster rifle of yours?""Sure, what do you want me to do?"
"Well give me a second, Dr. Arty I just noticed a locked room, if I can't get this open myself, would you mind helping me open it with that blaster rifle of yours?""Sure, what do you want me to do?"
Keep on the tram.Pragmatism is a positive personality trait.
Inject the syringe EDIT for Clarity: into myself and before Arty shoots the keypad try to open the door using the keypad. You grab the syringe and inject it straight into the med port on the suit. For a few seconds it seems like nothing is happening. Then your legs start to melt. It starts at the toes and rapidly spreads upward, your flesh degrading into an oozing brown sludge. You do what most people would do in this sort of situation: You scream as well as your one lung allows. This screaming becomes a gurgling and then is cut off as your head sinks down into the muddy mass of your torso. As the mass of brown former human starts to spread outward and congeal, it sprays greenish sparks and then catches fire. In a blaze of emerald light the giant turd vanishes into thin air.
Arty examines the robots' flamethrower and see if he can use them to release the datapad. If he can't, see if someone is more knowledgeable with it. ((Zek has aux+1))You take out one of the robots and carefully poke around in its innards until you find the flow control for the flame thrower. You light the pilot light and use small jets of flame to slowly melt the ice. It takes a while and the data pad comes out a bit singed, but you manage to get it.
"I can't say whether if shooting the keypad will open it or destroy the only measn to open it... Whatever, just cover the door lest something comes barrelling out."
Arty shoots the keypad.
((I'm guessing I'm dead aren't I.))((Either that or someone on ship is going to have a very bad surprise.
((I'm guessing I'm dead aren't I.))Wait for it...
((I'm guessing I'm dead aren't I.))Wait for it...
Arty stands for a good hard minute, shocked by the gruesomeness of what he just saw. Eventually, he gets Trier's gauss rifle, closes the door and heads back to the tram. His rifle, along with everything else on his person, went with him.
"I just saw Trier die in the most unimaginable way... please don't ask. Only, know that you should never, never inject yourselves with unknown stuff. I've got the datapad, let's just get out of here."
Take a seat, with elbows on the knees and both hands supporting the head; let the horror be internalized, for while it was the first time he saw something like that, from what he read on the reports it's not so uncommon either. Start reviewing what he knows about PTSD.
"Damn... I take it his brain's not intact?"
I want to get off of MR. BONE'S WILD RIDE.
Stop screaming and try to control the sludge in a way that will free me from it. If that doesn't work then just accept Zeks help.It does not seem to be controllable. It appears to just be a byproduct.
Arty avoids mental damage by falling back to his scientific training; instead of freaking out, he observes carefully while taking mental notes.
"Oh, that's disgusting! Well, it looks like Trier's back. We can get this poor sap to a shower, right?"
Help Trier out of using pimpcane. Try not to get near that sludge.
"Geez. That stinks."We're gonna assume he gets out of the puddle of sludge.
Eeewwwww. Don't step in the sludge. Or near the sludge. Or over the sludge.
"Right, I've got the datapad here, and these robots... Do you know what are they? Depending, I might want to keep them.""I suggest selling the datapad and then we split the tokens between you, me, and Zek."
"Right, I've got the datapad here, and these robots... Do you know what are they? Depending, I might want to keep them."They give you 5 tokens for the datapad, but tell you they have no use for the robots. They tell you that the robots are automated purge bots designed to incinerate organic material and clean up infected areas. The program to control them isn't available to them, but it should be back on the pc where you got them.
All you can remember is turning to goo one second and then appearing here the next. It was very odd."Right, I've got the datapad here, and these robots... Do you know what are they? Depending, I might want to keep them.""I suggest selling the datapad and then we split the tokens between you, me, and Zek."
Trier attempts to recall what happened to him when he melted and vanished.
"Ahem? In lieu of a more coherent action, I interpret this as you aggressively doing the robot.
Also, robots?
Ooh, robots!"
Robots.
"Yeah, I think we gotta sell that datapad. I'd rather not have to worry about assassins coming after me on top of the universe ending and all that. Is that a flamethrower?!"The flamethrower is a small one attached to said robot. It's not the sort of thing you can carry around as a weapon. At least not a very effective one.
Zek'thal will try to acquire the flamethrower and his share of the datapad tokens. Assist in identifying robots, if needed.
"Ah, well... Mycroft, I see you kind of ...liked... the robots. I think I've got enough for everyone. Are you up to reprogramming them? You pass out one token and one robot to each of the other members of the team.
In the meanwhile, about splitting the cash. That's one token for each, and I would like to take the remainder; it'd be enough to see if I can still get these second-hand x-ray eyeballs that were up for sale. They're much cheaper than brand-new ones, and I would use them to help others."
Give a token and a robot to each of the others.
((PW, do we also get XP?))
"Aw, c'mon man. Why couldn't you just wait until you got a room?To the pods you go. We're replacing the leg with a mechanical one.
I think the scheduled payment is acceptable. Now, let's get paid and podded. Oh, and limb replacements."
Get paid, get fixed, get podded.
Accept payment, receive treatment for sucking chest wound and punctured bicep. We'll stitch you back together.
No, it was not.WIKI!
"Right. I'll see if I can get these running again...
Ooh, and I can get the Solid Light Thing now!"
Buy the Solid Light thing that I have tokens for.
I'm not sure if we have anyone else who wants to come, or even anyone else around.I mean sure I'm always cool with dying violently alone
If you if you are ok with going on your own then we can leave immediately.
"Alright then. Let's get going.
Ready my gauss rifle and go through the left door.
Hey, uh, we're going through the left door, just FYI.
What happens as we pass through to the next room?
Man can't even break is ankle and get high on hydrocodone without people sending messages about how he's shirking his duty. Alright.
The current hall? No, no containers. Unless doors count as containers. I guess they kind of do.Man can't even break is ankle and get high on hydrocodone without people sending messages about how he's shirking his duty. Alright.
Player can't even know when the GM breaks his ankle and gets high on hydrocodone without sending him a message about how he's shirking his duty. Also, sigged.
Eh, these things happen, it's all good.
Anyway, does the room have any containers?
Continue following Tinfoil's character if they move.
Keep on going straight through the door. You ignore the door on the right and head on toward the one straight ahead.
Search the desk for a remote or something to control the monitors with. In fact, search the entire desk for anything that might possibly be of use (even if it's a ballpoint pen or something like that). Are there any other doors in this room aside from the one we came in from?
"Hey, do you have any idea who that is?"
Also, I've made a map of sorts. The Tram Room is currently at 8N.

There's a few pens, a log book, a stack of printer paper, an unopened pack of notecards, a desk fan, a bag of cough drops and a magazine. I'll let you choose what you want to take.
Follow TinFoilTopHat instead if he moves

Edited my action
"No idea, but from what I've heard of the doctor, he's probably going to be very murdery. Let's keep moving, I want to just get my money and get outta here."You head straight through the door ahead of you and it leads to another hall. This one has 3 doors on the right side and another straight ahead. The farthest one down on the right has some sort of strange symbol drawn on it in...some sort of reddish fluid.
Carefully open the next door, going straight on ahead.
((Apologies if we get hell's murdered but this hallway was getting boring))((I guess even getting murdered could alleviate the boredom at this point.))
Grab the pens, logbook, magazine, notecards, cough drops, and magazine. Then go down the hall and follow Tinfoil Top Hat.You steal a bunch of office supplies then follow a man in a very silly hat into a very dangerous looking room.
"I vote for not going through the blood-marked door or whatever the hell that is on the right....
"Only a couple of idiots would go through there. So let's get moving!"Inside the marked room is a VR system. The entire room is only slightly bigger than the machine and it appears to have been made specifically to hold this machine. The machine itself looks normal, just like any of the VR machines you would see in the rec room, but the room itself is rather disconcerting. There's splatters of dried blood, scratch marks and dents on the walls, ceiling and floor.
Throw open the door with the blood on it and get ready to desperately Gauss whatever horrors lie inside.
((Apologies if we get hell's murdered but this hallway was getting boring))
"Mhn, my hair. Where'd you guys go? Why didn't you wake me up?"We'll assume you joined up with the group.
Leave the tram and walk down the hallway not coated in blood.
Open the VR pod. It's empty. Or at least there's no one in it. The inside looks fairly normal, except for the wrist restraints on the arm rests.
((Reminds me of Polybius. You should totally jump in!))Fuck it.
((I see you have chosen the way of the Jaguar in your approach to unknown possibly deadly objects… a wise choice))((Reminds me of Polybius. You should totally jump in!))Fuck it.
Enter the VR Pod.
"What could POSSIBLY go wrong?"
((Reminds me of Polybius. You should totally jump in!))Fuck it.
Enter the VR Pod.
"What could POSSIBLY go wrong?"
Go check the door next to it.The room next to the VR one is about the size of a small office but is completely empty. There's not even light strips to illuminate it. Just 4 bare walls, a tiled floor and a metal ceiling. How anti-climatic.
Welp, I'm not sticking around to see the inevitable explosion of insanity.Don't do double actions. Consolidate them into a single action in one post via editing.
Check the door closest to the one we just came through rooms.
Slide the door open just enough for a sneak peek inside.Which door? There's several doors here; so I'll just assume Azy's door opening fulfilled this desire for the moment.
You get into the VR pod and make yourself comfortable. Strangely, the wrist restraints don't automatically clank down; you had honestly expected the machine to just drag you kicking and screaming into whatever terrible world it wanted to show you, but it seems like this is a journey you'll need to make of your own accord. The VR system is a bit different from normal; it has no gloves for interaction, and instead of a screen there's some kind of VR helmet to strap to your head. There's also a rather prominent "POWER" button straight in the center of the console. Seems that they want it to be as easy as possible to turn off and on.((Reminds me of Polybius. You should totally jump in!))Fuck it.
Enter the VR Pod. After all the (less in)sane people get out of the room.
"What could POSSIBLY go wrong?"
Check another door. Make sure we have our weapons at the ready in case anything attacks us.You press the button to open the door.
((Hang on, since when is my name "Amy?"))PANICGet out of the VR pod and use my emergency kit to first aid the hell out of Amy's wound.[/b]
Lies and slander.((Hang on, since when is my name "Amy?"))PANICGet out of the VR pod and use my emergency kit to first aid the hell out of Azy's wound.[/b]
Shirley his name isn't Amy~((Hang on, since when is my name "Amy?"))PANICGet out of the VR pod and use my emergency kit to first aid the hell out of Amy's wound.[/b]
"God damn it!"[6]
Stand by the VR pod's door and wait. Try to press down on the wound and keep it closed.
((If only medkits or medspray were a little cheaper...))
((Thank god my computer broke a few days back resulting in me being unable to get trapped in a VR machine.))[6]
"Hold on, I am a trained medic."PANICGet out of the VR pod and use my emergency kit to first aid the hell out of Azy's wound.
Head back out to the unknown doorway at K9 and open it, wielding one blistol in the event that some eldritch monster wants a nice snack. The one back in the room with the monitors and the poster warning you about falling asleep on the job?
"Thanks, pal!"Uh...well there are four doors here. One was empty, one was a trap, the third is the VR room and the fourth is the one at the end of the hall that appears to lead onward.
Open the third and final door, making sure to jump out of the path of any traps.
Head back to theYou sit down, place the helmet on, and press the power button. The screen in the helmet shimmers for a moment and then displays the wordsobvious trapVR machine, sit down and hit the power button.
PLACE WRISTS IN RESTRAINTS
Oh, right. You stand just outside the room and keep your weapon aimed at the VR machine and the man inside it. Probably a good idea. Always smart to have contingency plans, even when those plans are just to murder your teammates.
Stand at the door and guard Tinfoil/kill his ass if he goes batshit.
((I'm kind of surprised you didn't kill us with the sixes.))
((Well I mean 6s are just something gone incredibly right, but like with something like sewing up a wound you can't do that TOO well.))You carefully lay your arms on the arm rests and the cuffs snap down onto your wrists, There's a mechanical whir as the cuffs partially retract into the chair, ensuring that their hold on your wrist is secure.PLACE WRISTS IN RESTRAINTS
PLEASE VERBALIZE YOUR CHOICE TO ACTIVATE THAT SELECTION
1) Vestibule
2) Descent

4) Encounter

Facepalm at pronunciation fail and then resume overwatch of the VR machine.
Wait. You poke tinfoil in the head with your rifle.
If AND ONLY IF Tinfoil turns violent, shoot him.
"Uh. Vesti... Vee stibe... Vestibule?"You find yourself standing on the surface of a planet, or at least it seems to be a planet. The surface under your feet is engraved, and that engraving extends outward in all directions to the horizon. The planet itself is pale white and looks almost like marble, smooth and glossy. The sky above is dense with stars, far far denser than any of the planets in the outer rim. You're standing somewhere deep inside a galactic core. Ahead of you, maybe a quarter mile away, is a pit. It's quite large as well, big enough to drive the sword through.
Say Vestibule. If I cannot figure out how to say vestibule, descent works as well.
Can I see what's going on in there? No, but he could describe it to you, if he's so inclined.
Regardless of Y/N, take a few steps back out into the doorway and get ready to shut the door if Tinfoil turns violent.
"Well shit. Better not waste any time." Run over to the deadly pit to Hell and look inside. You look down into the pit. The pit is also engraved. And it appears to have no bottom. It just...keeps going down until it vanishes into the white hazy distance.
((I have a feeling y'all understand more than I do. And I have a feeling this is going to be a barrel of !!Fun!!))((Only good things will come from this. Trust me, my character is a wizard.))
((I have a feeling y'all understand more than I do. And I have a feeling this is going to be a barrel of !!Fun!!))Well lets see what that gen know is like. Zero huh? Neat. [6]
"So, I'm in like this giant vast plain and there's a massive pit. Like, this thing is probably big enough you could fly the Sword all the way through. And like, there are these engravings all over the place."
Try to make sense of the engravings. Then hope my "skydiving without a parachute" lessons pay off and throw myself into the pit.
Turn around and look back into the hallway for a bit. Can't afford to get sneaked on in this incredibly weird-ass place. You back out and look around, peering down the hallway. Nothing out there but flickering lights and eerie silence.
You float in closer, swimming through the atmosphere in a rather undignified manner. As you get closer, you feel strange. You feel like you're diving into deep water; the pressure is squeezing you, you hear your heart pounding in your ears and the center of your forehead feels like someone is pushing on it with a single hard finger. It feels like you're being physically pushed back, repulsed, by unseen forces. You reach out one hand and you can feel your skin starting to peel.Attempt to maneuver to one of the handrails and steady myself. Take aim at the Thing with my Gauss rifle and prepare to shoot it if it tries any funny business.TOUCH IT I CANT RESIST OH GOD
What does Tinfoil look like in the VR machine?Like he's spazzing the fuck out. He's straining against the restraints and screaming like a crazy person.
Back away from the thing, fire at it, and scream until I lose my voice. You stop trying to get close and instead swim away, screaming the entire time. You try to shoot at the thing but you have no weapon. You have no weapon but you must shoot! AHHHH ITS SO KAFKAESQUE!
"Oh shit! [Tinfoil's Character's Name]! Can you hear me! Can you shut off the simulation somehow? Or something? This... this isn't real! It's just a VR simulation!"No one seems to be coming.
Back away and look down the hallway. We didn't attract any unwanted attention, did we?
Assume direct control of the braindead one.Yes, and touch the sphere!

Abigail looks at xan and Vanessa before in a curious tone."Leave that to me. Simply be on the lookout and alert me if you notice anything unusual."
"So what are we looking for?"
"I would be glad to assist you in capturing your objective, however, I do have one question; will this objective require subduing before it way be captured?"I have no doubt it will. However, it is imperative that it not be destroyed. When we encounter it, we must attempt to capture it in this containment device."
You should also know that I have recently acquired a Haber's Implant, granting me the so-called 'weirdsense'. I will inform you of any weirdness beyond the background weirdosity of this place."
Walk down the door with the least amount of blood, throw in a bit of scrap into room, if nothing happens pick up and loot everything not nailed down. Then head to next roomThe direction with the least amount of blood leads to the room to the left, with the camera feeds watching a man pacing around. Here's the old description:
Have draco at ready to Shoot anything that isn't a team mate
The room at the end of the hall seems rather small. It looks like an office of some sort, or maybe a security room? There's a small desk against one wall thats loaded up with multiple monitors. On the wall opposite the desk is a table with a coffee machine on it, along with a stack of Styrofoam cups, sweetener, creamer and individual pot sized bags of instant coffee. Above the table is a poster. It depicts a man sleeping in an office chair about to be attacked by some kind of comically oversized praying mantis. The caption on the poster reads "The little nap might turn into the long sleep."There's not a whole lot in the room thats just loose beyond some office supplies and a coffee machine.
The monitors are showing what appears to be an observation room; a padded cell with a toilet, bed and food dispensing unit. The room is a mess, torn up and covered in rotting food products. There is a human pacing back and forth in the room, apparently very agitated. You can't hear anything over the monitors. There's a door on the same wall as the desk with the monitors, and another straight across the room.
Describe the current room's layout in this voice. It's a big empty white room with nothing in it except some doors and the train in and out. Currently, people seem to be headed left. I don't know why I'm describing this out loud to no one in particular.
Keep a lookout for any other people who might be sneaking about.
Keep a few darts floating around, ready to shoot into things.
If the Xan who is not me and their Xanny Id move this turn, follow them. Assuming that we're in the same room right now?
Also, remember to pay attention to the Haber's sense.
"Be cautious. This place is dangerous at best with its master gone."Nothing here. I will assume that by "Next room" you mean the room to the left, where the other guy went.
Id: Guard duty. Protect me (me only mind you) from getting hurt. If it notices any clues as to the whereabouts of my target, notify me.
Me: Search the initial room for any sign of my objective. Use the Empathic Gland in short bursts to attempt to sense it. If no clues are found, move onto the next room.
Follow Vanessa keep helmet safetly secured keep weapons and medicine at the ready don't think weird thoughts about Vanessa.Following.
Check on TinfoilTophat's character again. Try to remove him from the VR machine. You can remove him, but he continues to be completely brain dead.

Loot the office supplies and coffee maker, move to next room. Throw a bit of scrap in, if nothing happens move into the room. Tell me what is in that room. Have draco at ready to assist Xan incase the man gets out. Try to describe surroundings to rest of team in a non shakespearian manner. Emphasis on tryThe next room is a hallway with three doors on the right side and another door at the end. The farthest one down on the right has some sort of strange symbol drawn on it in...some sort of reddish fluid. This series of doors should look very familiar to a certain someone in the group.
What was my character's name again? Here is your wiki page
Anyway, try to pick up Tinfoiltophat's character without hurting him and leave the room.
Hmm. IdXan, open the door on the wall with the monitors and see if the pacing dude's in there. You hide behind the desk and do your best to sense out the the other guy. All you get is a feeling of massive urgency. He has places to go RIGHT NOW.
I, meanwhile, will prudently stand back behind the desk, ready to take cover if needed. Before IdXan opens the door, see what I can sense from the guy with my empathy gland. Anything relating to my goal?
"Fuck you, I get dibs."That sounds like the sort of thing you'd need to figure out via trial and error.
Stand near RealXan, perforate any hostiles with darts.
Also, to clarify, handing in one datapad is worth 5 tokens, right? Would reading one grant 5 levelup points?
((I think I know exactly who that man is, cut one of his arms off. Then hold the severed limb up to the stump))((...who do you suspect it is.))

Loot the coffe maker and office suxpplies incase I haven't already, Pop into the room the one guy dragging the other guy just came out of. Put aAzywing's friend onto the back of draco, Secure lootables of his to me,You steal office equipment and immediately loot the unconscious man and his gear.
Jack stops to look at the guy being dragged, speaking slowly making sure to avoid his fine pristene accent
You want him? Cause I'll take him off your hands
"Restrain him!"IdXan moves to immobilize the guy, but the guy barrels straight into him and IdXan goes stiff as a board and gets a fair chunk of his skin evaporated. The man shoves past him and makes for the hall that Spaz is currently occupying while screaming something about having to get away.
IdXan, immobilize the dude. Though he likely isn't who I'm looking for, attempt to determine if he is nonetheless. Cut a hand off, his reaction should give it away. If he isn't what I'm searching for, have IdXan kill him so we can move on.
"Restraining."You throw two of your darts at the man, catching him right in the knees. He falls but then keeps going, crawling on his hands and knees.
Two Homing Dartmasses, both of the running man's knees. Make it happen.
"Causes the skin at least of those it comes into contact with to evaporate, likely some sort of effect solely restricted to organic material judging by lack of reaction to contact with the floor. Move into the next hallway, the one spazyak's in. What does the symbol on the last door look like? Any other oddities? What does my empathy gland sense, if anything, behind the various doors?
IdXan, regenerate. We both know simple flesh wounds don't work on you.
Just wanted to go through the Origion vr then loot inactives for tokens before heading overThat'll probably be a 'go mission thread nao' one then.
Try to get the man to calm down and stop, if he does not Shoot for the man's knees. Have draco fire 3 rounds, 2 for his knees, 1 for his back-base of neck.Spaz I think you're completey mistaking Azy for an enemy. Azy is not an enemy, the guy who attacked other xan is not Azy.
If he gets close dive into the vr room with draco andmy prisonernew friend azwing and unconscious friend whom I have looted.
If I can once the man has been taken care of disasemble the unconcious man's suit and strap the man to the back of draco.
Hop into the vr machine when done securing any loose loot ables and anything in the room to draco.
Make a note to go take him to the doc to have the doc use him, the man I looted, to make another alot to mount turrets on.
"Hmm. New data suggests that approaching the subject may prove hazardous to one's health."FollowingTwo more darts for his elbows should slow him enough to study. If he continues to move at too great of a speed, dart some more of his joints.
Nah, just stay out of the man's way and follow Xan.

then loot inactives for tokens which considering there are 15 inactives flagged for deletion on wiki, that would get me 75 tokens (i checked).
Oh, and 15 mcp1's
Can never have enough mcp 1's
If I am allowed to loot the inactives purchase every nyartifact I can which will cost me 24 tokens and leave me with 51
Then purchase a aussault suit with gauss cannons with automatic force infusers in it that can be charged via a piston and used like an over charge shot incase I want to use it.
Have battle suit modified to run on AI like that of a gunner bot but still allow manual control and remote control.
If I can have the additional draco made using the body and 8 tokens or more if neccesary
If I still have any left get another draco mounted gauss turret ready for 2 tokens
Final 2 tokens on dragon coat plating on exo suit.
Ask doc and am to help me with understanding computers or even some basic programming books and tech books to help me understand tech better

Try to figure out if there are any doors left that lead to new areas, because an Egan is confused with no maps. There's one door that goes on. There are three on the right side of the room which have been explored, and one at the end of the hall that no one has opened yet.
Have IdXan open up the other doors in the hallway. What's in them?Well, he opens the first door on the left and a telescoping metal spike stabs out through the open doorway and pins him to the opposite wall. It holds there for a second and then retracts. The door closes as the spike disappears behind it and idxan slumps down against the wall.
Peice wise, I decided to go to the newb mission, I don't even understand how you have my post pre editFirst one can't be skipped through

Based off of map, go to the Onwards! door. Have IdXan do this obviously, after letting him regenerate from being spiked.
Switch the Id Manifestor off and then on again, hopefully making IdXan reappear near me. If this works, question him as to whether that which we seek is in there. You switch the id manifestor off and then back on. You turn to say something to IdXan but he sweeps your legs out of under you and kicks you in the ribs.
Stand by to treat people in case someone gets hurt. You point and laugh at Xan's minor injuries and total BTFO status.
Put holes into things that come out of that door. WithYou perforate the room in front of you with the darts and then wait. There's still a lot of gas and vapor leaking out of that room but no one else gets grabbed or attacked.my penishoming dartmass, not the holepunch.
Xan wheezes as he gets back up.You seem to forget that he has your strong desire to not die. And turning him off and on is basically the equivalent to killing him and then creating another one with the old one's memories. He is rather annoyed at you doing that, if only for purely pride based reasons.
"Are you done? I understand you may be angry about being exposed to danger but we both know you possess far superior durability and regeneration prowess to me and, more importantly, that if I die, we both die. Preserving me is thus a beneficial path for us both. I apologize for switching off the id Manifester; I will not do such unless it is absolutely necessary to extricate you from a trap, and even then for no longer than necessary. Now can we get back to the business at hand? What was in that room? Were you able to perceive it?"

"Then that was my mistake. I will refrain from doing so again. I apologize, I of all people should have considered the implications of turning the Manifester off.
Now then, invisible? Likely not what we are looking for then. Unless it's much more creative than I had anticipated. I would recommend that you develop a weapon and a nonlethal immobilization method, since you possess those abilities I lost so long ago. Please keep your hands or some other form of grasping available if you can, though."
Have a heart-to-heart with myself. Then IdXan, develop a (melee would likely be most useful) weapon and a separate capture method for our target - perhaps a toxic extendable spike and some sort of excretory gland that shoots webbing similar to a spider's? I will leave it to his discretion.
Oh, and stay on guard for the invisible creature. Use my empathy gland to find out where it is.
"There is a body there that is entirely invisible. Please take a tissue sample, I'd like to study it's method once we exit here and it's more likely that we'll have one in the end if everyone gets one."
