Title: Maybe new !SCIENCE! material

I was just thinking and my trail left me without an answer:
Does wearing armor affect the melee unarmed attacks(punches and kicks)?

If there's already a post about this, please redirect me.

PS: does this also affect fortress mode?

Yeah, sadly there is no difference between a barehanded punch and one in a steel or slade gauntlet.

Luckily Toady recently promised that one day we'll smash our fingers when we try to punch the bronze colossus bare-handed, so it's not a permanent situation.
