Title: Roofgriffon, the fort of rose gold gopher-like shit

So I built a strange 70x70x79 gopher-like creature of rose gold. It was supposed to be devil-like. That's the final view: http://s8.hostingkartinok.com/uploads/images/2016/07/b4cb7e5c560ef9e3a1f283a99bc5386c.png

I tried to create four animated pentagrams that should blink sequentially, appearing one at a time. I built minecart-based impulse generator:

Then I found out that every retractable bridge should be adjancent to a wall or a floor, or it crumbles at first attempt of retraction. My pentagrams crumbled.

I tried to create beautiful fountains of magma using drawbridges. I had not known that time that drawbridges cannot toss liquids. It's sad.

I built beautiful trampolines for goblins and trolls, they enjoy them so much:

The gopher spits magma from its mouth, merchants don't like it:

Demons won decisivily. Then FPS died, effectively finishing the history of the fortress.

I do like how the map started out green before its present wasteland state. The crumbling of the pentagrams was another humorous footnote, though I would have loved to see a gif where they flashed.

Your shit is more awe-inspiring than all my forts put together. 30 years to build this, huh? I guess I have a reason to dust off my rusty russian like the goblins that went flying.

Btw, How ddo you plan for the constructions of giant beasts in DF ?
Do you build it in, say Minecraft, to see what it looks like, the dimensions and all ?

I start with http://www.123dapp.com/Gallery find suitable model and get its projections in MS Paint like this:

Unfortunately, it doesn't work well with big solid pieces like this supposed-to-be-devil-head. In the next fort I plan to try some 3D-printing software.
