Title: Invasion of Urist

On a recent fortress I got in my original seven... 3 Urists! How can that happen? I thought it was random!

other questions: How do you make a screen shoot?

It is random.  Sometimes random means you get the same result repeatedly.

What the hell?

Urist seems like a very common name. I remember someone mentioning "Urist Uristurist" being a very likely name.

Urist is just well-known among the forum denizens, likely because it was used in a hermit story and is easy to remember since it's actually, y'know, pronounceable.

I think it is because it means dagger, and most dwarven mothers are obsessed with kobolds and their large copper daggers.

Cmd+shift+4 allows us to select a portion of the screen for capture; pressing space after entring this command allows us to capture an entire window. Sereenshots are saved as PNGs on the desktop.

if i ever have a son, or a daughter, it doesn't matter, the obvious name will be urist.

maybe it will be urist jr, as ive planned to change my own name as well

For some truly hilarious names, remove the [SELECT_SYMBOl] and [CULL_SYMBOL] tags.

I got a baby here is the name Gesith Shorastsamam. That translates to Incest Wirecourage.

My first Mood!

This is a chalk amulet. All craftsdwarfship is of highest quality. It is encircled with bands of Chalk. This object menaces with spikes of Chalk and Gypsum. On the item is an image of a Dwarf and Dwarves in gray chalcedony. The dwarf is surrounded by dwarves.

Name. Usurtharnas, "Spoiledslayer"

HEHEHE.... worth... 10800 dwarven marks! Woooot! Me richy guy! (If only I have some ores...)

The RNG is pretty streaky in DF. A mathematical analysis of it was posted a while back. You're going to have uneven distributions.

I mean, how many times have you had "thunder" used in a name? It's in the dictionary, but I've never seen it as either an entity, object, or location name across all 30 or so of my fortresses.

Did I miss something, why is this here?  Is it some kind of modern art thing?  I thought this was about the RNG?
