Title: Are the mountainhomes starving?
Post by: numerobis on February 02, 2008, 01:51:00 am
My first wave of immigrants, just before winter, was a comfortable 6 -- many more and things would have gotten desperate.

It's now mid-spring of the second year, and I have created the lofty sum of $4610.  By then, I usually have individual stacks of food worth that much.  When the elves came, I couldn't even find any items for trade at all.  I don't even have two rocks to bang together:  I'm making charcoal right now; when I'm done, I'll tear down the furnace and build a glass shop with that one stone.

Faced with such penury, somehow my spring immigration wave again doubled my population.  Clearly, the mountainhomes are in dire straits.

I was impatient when I said "doubled."  Actually, I meant that I got *19* dwarves showing up at my doorstep, to add to my previous 13.

Are they super-excited about the 3-wide tunnel I made clear across the minimap (yes, I am playing on that large a playing field; yes, it's pretty painfully slow)?

In case you didn't know, the mountainhomes' main export is dwarves.

And bins of useless stone crap is their main import. I guess we're even.
