Title: help: starting out
Post by: qwertyuiopas on October 29, 2007, 09:06:00 pm
since I can't make wood blocks, I need to find stone or make metal blocks.
but any time I get down to near the stone, I hit damp stuff.  :(
I am unable to remove the water because to build a screw pump, I need blocks.
how do I deal with this?

I noticed there are boulders on the surface, perhaps they can be 'reclaimed' or similar to make them into usable rocks for us?

You can trade for stone blocks with the Dwarves (IIRC).  Just make some nice stuff with what is available until they show up.  Then request stone blocks for the next year.

Making those surface boulders pluck-outable is on to-do, but right now they are just a wagon obstacle waiting to be smoothed.
