Fluff
Anything non essential to the gameplay experience. At its' best it may improve immersion or asthetic, at worse it may cripple the game. When hosting, if it is becoming too complicated to enjoy in your role, consider what non essential elements can be removed.
Forum Game (Forum Games and Roleplaying (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?board=15.0))

God Game
An empowered being or beings influence the progression of a territory, and often the lessor beings that inhabit it, who's belief in them may make them stronger. Turns may represent large jumps in time from one to the next. Gods may be themed, they may be allies, enemies, or neutral co-creators.
Godmoding
In an RP, this is when you assert power over the outcomes of other players, much the way a host would. Typically either outright discouraged or limitedly permitted in these types of games. An example would be to say your sword stabs someone, rather than say your sword swings at someone. In the first example, you take away their power to dodge.
H ~ 1
Host
The person running a forum game.
I ~ 4
IC/In Character
When someone is posting as the character of the game, or a thread where all players only do this(usually there is an OOC/Out Of Character thread counterpart). It is usually impolite to make OOC posts in an IC thread.
IN
Players interested in joining a game will often post this,
especially if invited to by the host, or also if instructions to join are unclear and do not require a character sheet.
ISG/Image Suggestion Game
A type of suggestion game where the updates utilize images to help tell the story. It may contain important clues or information, or simply be fluff. (discussion (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=161580.0))
ISG/Interactive Suggestion Game (See "Suggestion Game")
M ~ 3
Mafia (Mafia Subforum (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?board=20.0))
A game where a group of players are randomly divided into two main groups: "Villagers/Townies" the uninformed majority versus the "Mafia/Scum/Werewolves" the informed minority. Play is divided into day and night phases and may take up one or more real life days each. The villagers try to guess who is a scum during the day may choose to kill (lynch) someone. At night the mafia will kill a villager. Some players on either team may have special abilities. (tutorial (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=39338.0))
Meta-Gaming
In an RP, this is when you act on knowledge your character wouldn't have, like where another player currently is, especially one in need of your assistance or planning to attack you. Playing this way is usually discouraged or forbidden. Meta Gaming can also be a kind of prediction to player behavior, especially in a competitive game, and adjusting one's own strategy accordingly. Mafia is based on this psychology.
Moderator ( For the game master, see "Host" )
Those users whom have been entrusted with the responsibility of enforcing the forum rules (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=27009). Keepers of the peace.
O ~ 1
OOC/Out of Character
When the players of the game, are not speaking in character, such as to ask the game host a question.

P ~ 3
PBP/Play-by-Post (See "Forum Game")
Player

Q ~ 1
R ~ 3
RTD/Roll-To-Dodge (RTD Subforum (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?board=19.0))
A type of game that decides the outcomes of player actions via a roll. Often by a six-sided die or the equivalent. Sometimes the player can improve their roll such as by having better equipment or using the situation to their advantage, but this is not always the case. (discussion (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=165129.0))
RP/Roleplaying (Forum Games and Roleplaying (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?board=15.0))
To pretend to be a character. Games that identify as role-playing games tend to focus more on story than others. Often it is important to act only in a way your character would rather than it would be most beneficial as a player of a more rigid game. If it's simply labeled as an "RP" play may be very spontaneous and improvistic, but there are exceptions. There are often rules against, or about godmoding and meta gaming.
RPG/Role Playing Game
Like an RP, story and character development and interaction are present, yet the gameplay elements and expectation to pursue your game objectives have more weight. Unlike RP, godmoding is usually not discussed, as there is usually a host directing events.
S ~ 2
SG/Suggestion Game
A type of game where the audience votes how the action will progress. If the audience is limited to predefined choices it may instead be called a CYOA, though this and games which allow or require custom actions may all be simply labeled SG. Usually, there is a single protagonist, controlled by all. (discussion (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=163634.0))
SPAM
A type of CYOA where the protagonist is in a position of power, and who's actions take place over small jumps in time, rather than instantaneously. Named for "rapid fire" updates. Used as a prefix(ex. SPAMKINGDOM).
U ~ 1
Update
A post in a game thread, by the game host, which progresses gameplay. The result of player actions.
W ~ 2
Waitlist
If the game is full, and no more players can join, the host may put "reserve" players on this list incase others leave, a new session begins, or the game size limit increases.
Werewolf (see "Mafia")
