Title: Old Planet - AGE OF GODS
Post by: RoseHeart on March 08, 2018, 02:44:49 am
This game will feature extinction cycles where a new thread is created, and only the few most prominent things of each category survive.

There will only be a few phases in each thread, the early ones focusing on active influence and later more on passive methods.

There will be points system and if you win, you choose the method of extinction.

PHASES

Primal Act
What ever you choose to do will set the tone for your powers this cycle. Sentient beings (potential followers) will not forget this, for a long time.

Residual Act
The more it mirrors your last or a recent primal act in domain, the better, though still much weaker.

Champion Act
Command your titan. (Create one if you don't have one.)

Follower Act
Command your believers. (Sentient beings)

Final Act
If you win, choose the extinction method.

POINTS

Legacy Points
The number of people that remember your actions. (first hand or passed down doesn't matter) An extra point for each cycle back.

Soul Points
The number of people you caused to die or be born, added together.

God Points
All gods choose 1 other god to give their god point to secretly by PM to me. Your final score is multiplied by a (small) %.

Think of this cycle as a complete, albeit mini- god game.

Saturation #s
0.01 to 0.49 trace amounts
0.50 to 0.99 common
1.00 total saturation

So I got nothing? Guess I lose automatically, having had  my idea taken by yellow and green. I'm out, then.

It is the first round of several. :/

You're able to do more stuff. It doesn't even have to be particularly well-connected to your original Act. Make the ocean, or a mountain range, or something. The world's still pretty empty.

Also: of course we all started by making life. The world was empty. What else were we going to do?

EDIT: Roseheart, could you explain what the stuff in the World spoiler means, particularly the decimal points?

Yeah, but nothing for the action that has the most impact on how the game will play out? That's just not right!

I would of been fine if I got less than everyone else, and heck I would even expect that me and green would have gotten less than everyone because we both picked a set that was overlapped by three of four players, but NOTHING AT ALL!? How is that even remotely fair?

Your situation is not as bad as it seems. I won't give any hints as to why. Just do what you can.

RESIDUAL ACT

On the west hemisphere I stop the growth of plants. The dry grasses and trees catch fire and burn everything.

On the north hemisphere I emit orange light.

On the east hemisphere I modify a special few elves to have druidic powers over flora and fauna, and a heightened sense of the truth of the world.

On the south hemisphere I shed huge, powerful, and long-lived serpentine dragons. Woodwyrms begin life as a non-sentient tree. Other beings that protect them receive council and friendship.

You now have a capital, name it.

North East (Clairvoyant Elves) (YEL)
North West (Curious Elves) (ORA)
South East (Druidic Alliance) (GRE)
South West (Curious Elves) (RED)

Kittytac, your champion is supposed to be PM'd.

Anyway, since I forgot to put my capital in here...
Adjilia, Capital of the Dalish Republic.

CHAMPION ACT

I create my titan Fearful Knight, a flaming effigy grown from dead grass and charred trees. Burn everything, leave nothing. NOTHING AT ALL!

I create my titan Litaeus, a humanoid made of orange, bright stars. Create a mini-sun magically enchanted not to burn, and provide light and warmth.

I create my titan Aaron Solomon, a wise elf diplomat. Bring the Clairvoyant and Druidic people together, and research non-magical constructs so anyone can have druidic gifts.

I create my titan Rootwing, the eldest woodwyrm. Grow large enough to contain Tamblèn, and other cities. Grow fruits that revitalize their youth. Fly to the most troubled lands inhabited by elves to provide guidance.

I am going to officially close this game.

It was a lot of math on my end, for not enough option for you. You didn't have much control on how I interpreted your action, and since I was already burdened, it couldn't be incorporated in it's current form.

So I thank you for playing.

Since last round was the last processed, YEL is the winner. (If you'd like, you may choose the extinction method.)

The West burned; the East flourished. Just as the gods had made them.

As the years, decades, and centuries crept on, the elves of the East would establish vast civilizations, netting the continents with roadways and dotting them with cities. The West, meanwhile, emptied, with those few denizens left becoming fiery demons and vicious scavengers. From time to time, incursions would be made; East to West to seek out artifacts of ancient times, West to East to find food and resources that were depleted in the dead ground of their home.

The Easterners would develop militaries, first to protect themselves from these invaders, then to strike back at them before they could even try to invade. But they had only ever fought the scavengers; as they fought their way across the Western lands, they encountered stronger foes, animals bent to their environment to be as deadly as possible, and finally, the burning soldiers of the Fearful Knight.

And so, under blood-red skies, the world came to a heated night. The Knight struck at these unscorched masses, and the jungles burned. The druids found their magics useless when faced with the ashes that the red army left.

By the end, only two cities remained standing on the Eastern hemisphere: Adjilia and Tamblèn, the temple-cities of the Seers and Dragons. They held the dread armies back - Tamblèn with their powerful and new magics, Adjilia with their advanced sciences and strategies.

Then, when the last hopes of elfkind seemed to be fading away, aid arrived from an unexpected source. From a city of old, long held to be mere legend, came the Army of the City of the Orange Light. Hidden from the blazing legions by the residual power of their god and guardian, they protected themselves from the death of the West, then came to save the East. Facing an army undepleted, the warriors of the Fearful Knight were forced into retreat, before being broken with the killing of the Fearful Knight himself.

Three cities. A scorched world. Two peoples stripped of their innocence, and one that lost it long ago. But they remembered their gods from the days of old, and they were prepared to face their future anew.

Is there any possibility that we may see something similar to this in the future, or are you just kinda done with stuff of this variety?

Alright, good. There haven't been enough godgames around recently, in my opinion.

It may be a card game. I seem to do better with those.

If players of this cycle would like to come to an agreement on a name for it. "Age Of..." go for it, it needs a name.

Does "The Godly Ages" sound good?
Title: Re: Old Planet (Over)

It would track as "Age of Gods"

I'll leave the thread open for discussion on this and to give feedback.

Age of gods sounds nice. Anyway maybe you could try a bit more transparency and less complexity. I liked the idea of a scaling level power, you should definitely keep that.

You mean getting less powerful each act? Definitely.

Makes extinction more fun to the winner.
