The intro

In the horizon as the hull was transparent. One could see the stars, the large orange Sun, and the blue and green planet below. It looked Heavenly. But due to a great flaw, one can not operate all ship functions. They were stuck, stuck in the Ark vessel. In time people forgot how the Hell they got their except in oral traditions. But lately, there has been a revival of the old knowledge. The vessel has nine layers. Everyone currently in ninth, the edge later. Ages ago was going to support humanity in generation mode before cryosleep. It was discovered before the old world died. Everyone on ship is alive, dead or still sleeping. Not to mention those born in the ship. It was a true Ark for it is hull was a ocean to support water demands and sanctuary zones where wild life was preserved. During the troubled times the borders were destroyed. Beast and plant ran wild and now the internal was still functioning as a ship. Just with a binome Of it’s own. As the massive ship orbits. It does have its own day and night cycle. Currently, it is day..

The compound of the area was massive, inside was a dome that housed five AI mainframes. That when turned on will not shut up. Called the Elders or something despite the fact they were not their ancestors. Life here was nice, in it was a ruined base point of sorts. Still the sight of dead loved ones, chopped up and blood splatter made for a grim sight. Especially at the parts thrown away. Like the spines, which fluids led to disease. Though the poor boil them up for soft food and fluid, loving the taste. Despite not doing them favors.

What will you do Commander?

A: With 700 available souls one can cover a lot of ground. Go in all three directions from the grid to explore.

B: Train someone to be a leader in their own rank. As to make sure someone is always in charge, front line and home.

C: Bother the AIs to get their take.

Arms Race: Get to suggest something. Anything just to see what happens next. More players pre clan, more ideas.

As one declared to spread wide, like a wall of movement it had to be divided into three groups. Two groups of three hundred souls with bows/arrows and blade knifes with hide armor.

The final? Were the children They were nine to sixteen in age as they explored corners.

Results

Children Corp:

They stumble upon ruins, ruins of a battle that was not to long ago. It was a camp, defenders verses invaders. Everyone dead. And plenty of stuff to go around.

A: Stay and search the place.
B: Try to follow tracks to see if a fight going to happen.
C: Return home as no one to defend it.

Center Group (Leader in mix.)

The center group ended up in a area of big time forest. Perfect for lumber, though trees are needed for fresh air, though air recycling exists. And as they wandered in. They were ambushed by gigantic wolves!!!

Combat: 20 level army ca 20 level pack of gigantic wolves.

In the ambush that followed, ten people died, by shock of wounds or killed outright with savage attacks. Using discipline the rest huddled in a wheel formation and killed those damn wolves. Took a lot of arrows and blade work.

Now 190 people in group. Have found 64 meat and 20 bones.


Last group

They wander and find a skeleton with a glowing necklace. The path was heavy with debris. Need time to clear for travel.

Everything was accounted for as then they went back to work to keep life style going.


As for leader team. Each dead team member counts as two meat units due to how they died. All left was.

In the middle of the forest, one of the searchers found a hollowed our tree. Inside of which was a cache of weapons.

1 Bazoka with four vazoka ammo
Three wrecker rods
One Gaus pistol

As for why there was on. One found a patrol car, destroyed with dead bodies. Apparently outdoor style scavengers who thought of using the forest as a base. Well showed them.


As for Arms race result

Hanging Gardens:

In a effort to make more food without expanding the farming zones. This method was made.  Though due to failure in seeing soil and water treatments. It only boosts farm by two. But it’s quirks?

The hanging gardens work well with medical plant life and even herbs. The guide for cooking or mash into perfumes.

+ 5 herbs each turn unless make more hanging gardens.
+ 2 to food.
+ 1 to medicine.

The news of a trinket found in yesterday’s scouting was exciting. Everyone talked about the relic, and the supplies as well. It was decided to have the Elders examine it.

The AIs spark. Akin to tiny stars as they scan the device and instruct them on how to open it. It was a glowing green sphere with silver glyphs on it.

“ By the Makers. It’s the Cure!”

“ Long Long ago. On Home, everyone had it easy and soft as technology provided for your ancestors. In time they rose up against humanity and your ancestors fought them back. As they made plan to launch a ship into space before the Clash. The Clash, sped up the process. Anyway, as we got tonPlanet, the corrupted code entered the main frame, Fred your ancestors and put up the walls. What you got. Is the Cure. It could not be done on home. For the rebuild would be too costly. And we the ship keepers were already online. Our fire walls vending off the corruption.”

“ If you make it to layer one. One could cure the whole ship and get to be, free. There are two other treasures needed. The Captains key to get access to the Spire. The central point. Alpha control. Your tribe can be legend. Or... just keep eating people. Your choice.

This time. When exploring the forest. One makes way through it. A lot to cover, but could mark this territories as your own. For sake of lumber and such.

In the air, a device that was in mid air, suddenly falls out ahead of your troop. Apparently a test project. From the wreck is 15 worth scrap metal, 20 batteries that powered the damn thing, 5 units of spare parts, and also 10 runic circuits.

Soon enough Cue strangely dressed people in white, following the device that just got dismantled.

“ Holy crap. You guys mean business.”

They do not bother to attack due to numbers.

“ You can keep the stuff, really.”

A: Do so  and leave them alone.
B: If we do not recruit them. Someone else will. Demand access to their community.
C: Food. Murder and  army them back.
D: Leave them alone, but demand stuff that got, valuables not clothing that is.

A. We don't really need it, and Despite being the most military oriented good relationships with one's neighbours is always a good thing to keep, Especially when they could be dinner in the long run.

As we left them to go peacefully to their own devices there were still plenty of trees. Plus the new neighbors.

A: Mark trees marking terriority
B: Just get home. As it’s night soon.
C: Mark trees, work over time to cut some down for resources, and spend the night out.

After getting thirty units worth of lumber. Had to stop as bone axes were breaking. Stopped. Night came, shared stories and laughed. The hiralous thing was? Nothing bad happened tonight.

Arms Race

Wagon Cart:

Times are tough. But there are ways to make things easier. The fact we still have cows and horses means we have the power to propel the carts. Though the issue is the carts construction. It can carry up to 6 units worth of resource. Otherwise will break. And need a animal handler. Otherwise, it works just fine.


Crafting: 4 bone/wood/metal and one horse. Two plant fibers for handle and toeing the back of cart to stay in place.

( Yes a 1 in tame means all normal farm animals. Before hand just ate horses. Now putting them to work.)

Turn three

The Sun rides yet again due to orbit. As the Sun rose the work was done. More lumber delivered at a faster pace due to the carts. Horse, handler, and look out made sure it went smoothly. It was hard work but providing. Those neighbors of woods not bothering to show up. Out of fear.


A look outbdies speak though with perimeter check.

“ Holy crap!! The rocks, their gone!” As the cut off path became visible. But, whom could have done so much work and not get detected?!

Choices:

A: Elect That Officer.
B: Check out that border
C: Send a envoy to the neighbors ( small force not while army.)
D: Your choice.

Officer: Puck three traits from below and a name and such.

Gun Slinger: Boost in ranged combat
Gladiator: melee Combat.
Doctor: People less likely to die when this one is around
Explorer: Even Better Explore/Search rolls
Family Man: Comes with a spare Officer for two for one deal.
Scholar: Knows how to work fancy tech when encountered

That’s it. Should leader die or something Forge Smith becomes available again for elected leaders.

Cue the new Officer added to pool. Maximum amount of moves now is six. Well in reality five. As the moves are two more leader and officer can do three. Max moves is seven by decision. But bonus officers give bonus die based on trait and situation.

Now then:

Leader:

A: Elect to make a research lab ( more tech)
B: Work shop (build things.)
C: Medicine hut (more medical)
D: Make turrets ( defense bonus in siege. This requires scrap metal though.)

Officer:

A: Go south as obviously something is up. Rocks do not move themselves.
B: Go north to see what maybe beyond the abandoned camp.
C: Try to visit the neighbors
D: Help with lumber run in chopping trees down and securing them.

Now base has a work shop to make crafting easier and more streamlined for mass producing. As the machine tools inside from old relics work. Need some maintaining but over all works.


Away team


As the officer, with several of them men approach the southern border. They run into the dirty path that made Cure discovery.  There were people akin to the Avatar aliens digging and getting the rest. Cue them seeing your advancing party and run towards your group. Not hostile though, cue a gun shot whizzing in the air. As they stop. Cue guards some in. Ceramic armor. Holding what looked to be smart rifles and several soldiers in bizarre armor that covers everything, looks dirty with cloaks and six glowing visor points. They apparently had alloy guns.


“ Howdy there. Do not mind us. The blues get a little spooked. Just a traveling caravan. So just a mobile people. No interest in warring. Got this stuff because our ancestors did just that. No, we just look to trade with people mostly.”

A: Talk about trading.
B: Make note they are coming into your terriority, point them in direction no problems will happen.

D: Note their words with grace and back off. You guys are tough. But their armed, and armored.

The caravan approached the camp site of the Black Guard, appeared akin to a massive swarm of peoples and animals. The culture was mixed but a unified  people in beliefs as they stop outside the wallls. Not to
Show disrespect. Their leader flew to the gates. That’s right, flew. For he had Phoenix Armor. Knocking to make sure they were acknowledged.

Beasts: Since they have tame of 17, have variety of animals.

Plate Head: A Family Of 5 gigantic armadillo. Used for farming or combat steed. Meat, bone, and chitin.

Dire Tiger: One really  big and strong cat.

Dinosaurs not a option. As they help tug the wagons along.

What they want: Water. As much as possible. (For farming and staying hydrated. Animals too.)
Batteries as well.

Say Slaves, Critters and ammo for a ton of water, the alcohol, spare parts, and computer chips.

Willing to sell five smart rifles for all the water. As health comes before bullets and they got other guns. Said Guns they keeping. And armor is not for sell.

Got all the two hundred slaves in turn as they have 300 water units.

Slaves: Feed half a Unit still work as hard, do not trust them being around advanced tech though. Give them ideas.


Trade is made. They got what they wanted.

With that the caravan goes north to the abandoned camp zone and behold. Easy to tell location as their numbers shake the ground.

: Cue a troop of the Black Guard going into new territory. As the village was visible now, and to the distance a seemingly dark mountain. No wait, it’s a wall. A massive wall with eight written on it. As the troop meets the villagers.:

“ So your the ones harvesting the forest yes? And heard the ground shake. Well what can we do for you?”

A: Tell then to help put minds to use (+1) in next research thing.
B: Trade with them if anything you want and they want.
C: Basicaly ask them to become part of extended community, not as slaves.
D: Force them as slaves or pain of death.
E: Ask them about the wall.

“ The Wall? It has always been there. The wall is tough. Nothing we know goes through it. Looked for a door, our scouts got lost but found way back. We do not know the wall just it’s there. Why it has a eight is a mystery too. Them ancestors.”

Hearing the news of joining.

“ We, The Ob will gladly be part of your customs and way of life. Beats being dead but for future maybe tree growing zones. They take forever to grow back” (oh trees can come back. Every 15 turns. Which is not years, just a testament that even the plant life got engineered.)

We will work on developing Crossbows, sure they aren't as fast as real guns, nor bows but they have Power and a significant lack of the hard to find and harder to produce metal requirements.

Cross Bows

Result: Can craft and use cross bows. They fire out bolts, very quiet, and must be loaded one at a time. The handy thing of the basic cross bow is, it is easy to maintain.
Cheap overall and can fire bone, wooden, and metallic bolts. Said bolts could in time be packing something “special.” To make them even more useful. But due to low noise and no gun fire flash/heat or smell of gun powder, further cemented as a stealth gun.

Crafting notes: 2 metal or one metal and one wood to craft the gun. One plant fiber for the string.

Tech tree Suggestions: Ballistas are gigantic cross bows for future or.

Repeater Cross Bow: The ancients has them. Firing a large box in fire rack with a turn wheel firing rate. Can shower 25 bolts in matte Of moments before having to reload another box of ammo.

Arbalest: If one gets a repeater cross bow this is a Gatling gun bolt fire device. If no repeater Manuel’s arm and fire clouds of bolts at a time.

Start off with: 30 Of these bad boys. With enough bone cross bolts for four turns.

Clan Ob people count: + 250. For now 950. Plus 200 slaves.

As the machine beast fell from walls and came contact, they fired their own attacks. Hydrologic spikes fired out in single shots. Though slow fire, three got hit. Not dead, but wounded. As the skilled and able cross bows got to work. The machines were big, but not too big.

Masterful cross bow shots manage to puncture their fluid units, core or main processors. As the machines were defeated.

+ 90 scrap metal
+ 50 computer chips
+ 5 runic chip
+ 20 spare parts.
+ 150 Batteries.

Also there is a transmission on base. Answer?

AI council: Hmmm. Would have to be a human faction, whom already knows of our main location. Interesting.

Notice that the forest is almost gone and halting harvest. Currently have like 440 lumber anyway.

Rolling construction 1/6. As it is just wood and basic structure.

Manage to build a tower network of eight towers. Good to see what is coming your way and can even boyse fire power up there.

As for wooden housing. Now everyone has a roof over their head. Boost in morale and the scientist tribe can now live indoors as opposed to out doors. (As they ditched their village for safety.)

The nomad traders were once again in the area. Heading south. Should be noted they carried stone with them, due to life style not kin on building anything lasting. They just had it for trading


Besides them. Maybe a question is, what drove them back this way? And what is so inviting to the south?

And what do the people do now? Trees take time to grow back, though had plenty. Hell the slaves caused no problems, due to being civil agreement.

In exploring the south. One finds a depleted lake, Nomads did this for water demands. Aside that more prints. Beast ones. In exploring enough no longer in forest, but a sort of savanna situation. Including really large turtles, pit bull sized ants, and big lizards that eat the ants. Such a strange world. Creatures that could have use with tame skill. As right now got normal animals. Also there was a opening in black wall. A opening, must be a gate.


During this time Nonads followed in stride. Emissary spoke to leader of your scouts. “ Eant to see where it goes? Or do you wish to adopt these animals first? Something tells me there is a whole new level of weird in that wall.”

And in the intense fighting the Nomads took chances and fired at weak points in machinery. As the robots were destroyed. The Power armored people head west. Along with unitified Forces.

Soon they reached it, the Crystal Spire. Walls defended it, more power armored folks and such as the gate man spoke up.

“ Your not obviously from here. But Pax welcomes you into our borders, as you have not attacked us. So tell me, what brings you here?”

Nomad leader spoke up. “ We are from sector 9. We seek the legendary layer one. Nine is the last layer. Just cold space. For our sake, we got to go I wars, not out.”

The gate men who knew, nod. “ If you do wish to speak, go to tower base. Though no weapons in there. Safety reasons, you know?”

The scouting party is still with. Nomads as the said travelers are all at the gate now. Quite a spectacle in regards to land mass. Exploring the new sector is the newest rage, as front line black guard got new suits.


Also at home a bunch of refugees from the north gone tonyour position. What happens next?

Nano Factory: Builds anything. No worries. 12 units worth of smart matter, can put things in so nanos convert to smart matter. Each unit a measure of weight. At 12 max could make 60 foot tall multi ton death machine. Less units, depends on request. It recharges 6 units a turn.
