This was suggested by Supernerd. Though I think it may work better as its' own thread than an online document.
Basically just post a game you'd like to play.
-rehost request
-new game suggestion
-idea you don't want to host yourself
Stuff like that. This is for everyone to host(not just for me to host it). Well let's see if this works. Worth a shot.
-
Oh wow. I forgot all about this idea.
-
This is totally gonna become a forum game all its own, y'know. :D
I like it. I'll have to put some stuff here sometime.
-
Or no wait, I can put stuff here now!
The Misadventures of Archibald [SG]: In a bog-standard meadhall in a bog-standard human hamlet in a bog-standard DF world, there lives a certain cat by the name of Archibald. His pet-- who's a bit of a crazy cat lady-- dotes on him greatly, but he is bound and determined to escape his tedious existence and see the world with his own two eyes. Can you help him find a way out from under the nose of his pet, and lead him on to greater things?
Larry Ahoy! [SG] Lawrence Cobb, a 20th-century travelling salesman, finds himself transported aboard an honest-to-goodness pirate ship (!) after coming into possession of a strange and magical clockwork orb. The pawnshop owner he bought the orb off swears it was made by the great Leonardo da Vinci himself...
Bay12 Forum Chess Tournament! Exactly what it says on the tin. Players compete in a forum-wide chess championship, indicating their moves via algebraic chess notation.

Oh brother, where to start as I got ton of idea stuff.

Gridhood Game. [Gridhood]
-
Stellar Legions 2.0 Using the map that Roseheart provided. Have done a whole unit list. Can play with or without said list. 3.0 it all has stats.
Here it’s narrative. Also unlike 1.0 starting tech is not randomized but pre set. Also situations A-Z and the enemies go to 11 types.

Gridhood Game. [Gridhood]
If anyone makes a Gridhood game, please let me know.
-
What is Gridhood?

What is Gridhood?
Buries Superdorf in 100+ pages of Gridhood. (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=170798.msg7768643#msg7768643)

Thanks.

Land Wars. Which is a game I don't have the time to explain right at this moment but basically there was a game of it on here before that flopped, but it got me hooked and I feel like with a more dedicated and somewhat more... personable GM it can absolutely work.

Gridhood Game. [Gridhood]
I've been wanting to play one of those games before the influx of Gridhood games stopped.
Land Wars. Which is a game I don't have the time to explain right at this moment but basically there was a game of it on here before that flopped, but it got me hooked and I feel like with a more dedicated and somewhat more... personable GM it can absolutely work.
I actually have the original post for this, but it's on a .txt file that I lost when I had to re-install everything on my pc due to technical issues.
-
I was thinking. Should this thread and Gamer's Block be stickied? It would be a similar setup to the mafia area.
-

This 100%. The Nuzlocke forums I'm on don't run it consistently, so I'd be super down to make it happen.

Afraid you'll have to pick one, sir. Can't have both.

Does Nuzlocke Forums even have regular forum games outside of mafia games that die to other reasons than player inactivity? No matter how active I am in my own threads in the forum game section, they rarely get a second page due to no player activity.
I thought GM inactivity was a major reason for forum game death, but there it's player inactivity.

Sorry, I was attempting to find a good word for 'somebody who doesn't ban players for having different political views and is willing to pause the game to write battles instead of drawing them out over six turns of silence, allowing other players to interfere five turns after the battle should have ended and both players had annexed the kingdom being fought over, and then deciding the battle on RNG anyway'
-
Well if it seems to continue to be explosively popular discussion hangout, maybe I'll bug Toad about a sticky in awhile.

Or, someone who knows ideologies that involve killing half the population and still having starvation and forum games don't mix.
Plus that shit was all offsite anyways.

*concern as the thread locks for a moment over inflammatory remarks*
-
Eh. I don't think this needs stickying. It has the potential to be a useful thread, sure, but not all useful threads need to pollute the stickies.
And guys, let's drop that whole drama. Some... interesting, behavior on part of the GM on an associated discord along with additional kerfuffles with the running of the game, but it's in the past now. Learn from your mistakes and move on.

They come ass a bunch of ADHD grade schoolers with diabetes from eating too much sweets, who additionally suffer from Nintenditis (look it up). Surprising that any Land Wars game got beyond page 01 there.
@Everyone Else: Didn't expect this to blow up. Haha. No need getting up in arms over politics, you two. No one here is qualified or smart enough to engage in politics anyway. We're nerds on a Mongolian basket weaving forum, not the next head of the UN. I agree with Waffles; let that stuff stow, mates.
-
Posts Gridhood that isn't going to be as heavy on a GM, expects fighting.
-
Well, there hasn't been a post here in a bit, just felt like bringing up another thing though, less of a specific game, and more of a concept in forum games.. That being where you submit something(songs, Yu-gi-oh cards, fictional characters) and the GM builds your character/abilities/deck/whatever based on that.
This is seen in stuff like Fallacys old Stand Off, as well as BYOR Mafia games. It's one of those things that I really want to see, but also really don't want to run myself, not because I wouldn't be willing to run a game but because my whole interest in games involving this concept is to see how other people interpret things.
-
I just might use that idea.
-
Was thinking of a different sort of Arms Race.
Instead of killing each other there are dungeon type deals.
The Arms Race, is better equipping and recruiting people to explore these spots for loot and possible plot/power ups.
It’s called Tomb Space, as it is weird alien crafts and sturtires, seemingly abandoned.
-
Vaguely reminds me of Boss Monster. A boardgame where you design a lair and entice heroes to their doom.
Which could also be a fun PvE or PvP arms race.
-
Alright guys aside my games now. Only got enough juice to make four more that will interest me. Only applied when my current work is dead.
Stellar Legions: Unlike precious games ( now dubbed High Command) In the new Stellar Legions, it’s part story mode, part army, part design game. Here I charge of a single legion, not complete forces of humanity and stuff happens. Based on your stuf limits what can be made in unit design/refit. Along with choices, that affect tone and mood of npcs.
Forbidden Relics: Here your a magic using student, who so happens to find a piece of magic that is forbidden. Leading to a rabbit hole of all sorts of things.
Invaders: This time the opposite of Stellar Legions. Your leading one of the forces of xenos or daemons out to wipe out the rest.
Swarm
Ancients:
Warrior Race:
Inheritors:
Machines:
Planar:
Each one has three options. For taste. And with that happy genocide.
The last
End of Infinity: Humans in latter 21 century made a massive success in energy tech. It breaks reality. Literally. FTL travel occurs, magic occurs, as well as technology never seen in real life before. Reality is subjected by who sees it. God, The Devil, Chaos And Nature are all alive and in the living space with humans. Also non human life showed up, the realm of imsnigation broke as all the things dealt by man are real now. Hell some humans mutated into said roles.
Two stat sets. Ruler/Officer. Also Faction.
End, SL, and Invaders all use the same galaxy map Roseheart made for me. As it’s awesome.
Edit: Also have Mad World Deal. Where one competes and kills people in creative, violent ways for the sponsors approval.
-
Friday going to post one of said ideas here. Given half of Tomb Space is dead (heh)
SL will play out like Spsm Kingdom, just less spam and more rpg.
End, is a true strategy deal.
Invaders everyone vote, biggest win vs aliens and humanity.
Forbidden Magic: A vote system for what forum wants as a major character, post by post rpg story SG. Really dark themed given your using forbidden power.
Carnage League: People post characters (up to six contestants.) they fight, entertain the viewers, power ups, moons, mini bosses and true bosses. Due to advances in technology, named characters have “extra lifes.”
-
I like the sound of that last one. End also sounds like it may be interesting but I'd need to know more about it first.
-
End: All technology is now magic tech and magic is real. Also very customable as to how your faction works ( single player for sg effect or strategy multi player.)
Hell God is a npc ruler as in this reality there are no more dividers ( that means He’ll is real somewhere too.)
Three things to note:
Character stats: Typical Crusader King deal, just with more exotic skills. Also Power is a stat for would be magic knight Kong’s/Queens.
Faction Stats: Can be improved just like a character, but need effort and time. How faction stands out
Sword: Army ( tactics, fighting skill, shape of soldiers, magic tech and spells.)
Staff: How much you start with mass wise ( worlds and stars.)
Coin: Yes it is a stat now.
Star: How Strong is magic connection.
Belief: What fuels magic tech and spells and faction. Your own personal view of universe, it molds to your views. Like having knights riding on serger lanes in space with lances tat fire lasers going as fast as any old star ship. Or reachibgvold Enough you transform into something else entirely.
Nothing too overpowered but it reflects what your faction is like and adds flavor of your toys/skills/spells/etc.
Crown: How loyal your people are to you.
-
Just a simple XCOM-like turn based strategy game where each player controls one character, with plenty of chances for stuff to go wrong, like in any XCOM game. Think similar to the Legacy Operations in XCOM 2's Tactical Legacy Pack DLC: consecutive no-strategy layer missions, with gradual gear upgrades.

Could be one hell of a RTD game.

Good point. A "Roll to xcom tlp legacy ops-stle turn based strategy" game would be fun to play.
-
Well due to issues starting Carnage League on Monday. Finally made a sensible plot for the madness.
Next thinking of either Infinity or Stellar Legions 3.0.
Made a Dark Hersy/ Rp version of Stellar Lecions ( even more rpg, as no troop management and etc. only have to worry about yourself and team.)
-
Well RTD is where Carnage Network is. Dice combat and stuff.

92. Making the waitlisters participate somehow would be good. Maybe have them control characters that would otherwise be NPCs?
That's a really interesting idea.
-
This but instead of fighting against incrementally stronger supernatural forces, it's against invading ayyliens that get stronger forces and equipment as the invasion goes on. (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=164218.0)
No seriously, Project PROMETHEUS was an amazing PvE arms race. I want to see more PvE arms races like it.

This is a good idea, though I don't now if I'd be good at running it

One game I would very much like to see is a game that, among other things, tries to assimilate other games.

Yes, basically. This game would take the best parts of other games and get their players to join itself.

I have tried that and it just is too unwieldy to post as a game. Maybe someone else can do it better.

The point behind such a game is to make a game that many people would play and always have some form of activity without being one of those overly simple games.

This hasn't gotten much use as of late. I think its' intended purpose can be combined with Game Design Discussion and Review (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=178073.0) easy enuff. So please head over there for your forum game suggestions.
