Title: The House of Hazards RPG (IC)

A group of travelers are lost in the woods in the middle of the night, and after hours of hapless searching, they stumble upon a large, eerie-looking building. Deciding to check it out, the group enters, but right as they all step inside, a freakish gust of wind suddenly blows from out of nowhere and slams the door shut. Trying to re-open the door, the group soon finds the lock mechanism to be broken, and that they've apparently been locked inside.

The travelers look around at what seems like an abandoned house, scarcely lit by some candles on a table and a lamp glowing gloomily in a corner. Near the far wall is a strange and grotesque-looking statue, standing ominous in its obscurity. A number of dimly lit doorways connect to adjacent rooms, and an ornate set of stairs leads up to a dark second floor. What would await the travelers in this chilling place, none could yet say...

((The game has begun! Feel free to begin controlling your characters. On the map I have labeled Mustard Frank as "MF", Dr. Unpleasant as "Dr. U", Scarlet as "S", and Lauren Hades as "LH". You can change your token color or submit a custom token if you wish. I will most likely update the game when all players have posted and are ready to continue, or maybe I'll just do it whenever, because I am the Law. Good luck have fun, and don't die too quick!))

Player have a 800 starting credit points. He is eco-ing his credits so he haven't think to buy some stuff for now. The suppressor pop up on USP as an attachment without interacting it physically.

He jumps several times with abnormality, just like a POD Bot behavior. He then levitate as he froze himself on mid air.

"Okay, let's go." he said by using radio command and came back to normal stance.

Boop the mustard on the nose for saying silly things.

Wield dagger, and yoink one of the lit candle-holder-thingy in offhand. Use it to set fire to the front door.
Search for a sack or something to carry more loot in.

Scarlet kept herself contained. Despite stumbing upon a group of random eccentric people are and getting stuck in an abandoned house in the middle of the night, she remained caln and collected.

She finally decided to break her silence when someone rummaged through the place. "I don't think it would be wise to do what you desire and wreck someone's home in the middle of the night," she said. "We don't know where we are and from whom this home belongs."

She moved closer in the middle of the room. Her ruby yes reflected the faint color of candle lights. "If I am the owner of this house, I would be outraged if some stranger just bursted in and tried looting everything they see. So please, refrain from doing so." Her last sentence was a tadbit serious in tone, as if she is threatening each one of em.

"By the way, where are my manners. My name is Scarlet Beuregarde, pleased to meet you all." She bowed.

One moment, he's retreating from a gang war, the next he's with this weird assortment of people... In this house that's definitely not abandoned, if candles are still lit somehow. How are these people even here?

Examine the door. Gimme those lock specs, baby. Maybe Lauren could brute-force it with his pickaxe.

Turn 1.

   Dr. Unpleasant grabs one of the candelabras from the table and goes to look in the cabinets with the plates and mug on it. When he opens the drawer, he suddenly hears a volatile hissing sound from within, but it was too late to react, as the viper that was nested within then leapt towards Dr. Unpleasant, biting him on the front of his shoulder. The snake then quickly slithers away under the cupboard. A painful numbness immediately sets into the spot where the snake had bitten Dr. Unpleasant, accompanied by a strange discoloration in the area. Dr. Unpleasant starts feeling a bit dizzy and light-headed as well.

   Meanwhile, Mustard Frank had also started looting the cabinet, and was going through a drawer of silverware when Dr. Unpleasant encountered the viper. The silverware inside the drawer seemed normal for the most part; just a simple collection of metal spoons, forks, and dining knives. Mustard Frank also finds an assortment of dusty cooking supplies in the cabinet, including some salt, pepper, cooking wine, spatulas, and some unlabeled vials of liquid.

   As Mustard Frank was going through the cabinets and drawers, Tri boops him on the nose for the comments he had just made. Tri then uses his dagger and yoinks one of the lit candle-holder-thingies, using it to set fire to the front door. The door soon catches fire and begins burning. However, parts of the door including the lock seem to be made of metal or some other non-flammable material, and it seems unlikely the door would take enough damage to fall apart. The fire, however, is burning vigorously. Tri then looks around for a sack or something to carry more loot in. However there doesn't seem to be much nearby that can be used as containers, just a few dusty vases that are rather clunky to use for storage purposes.

   Soon after Scarlet introduces herself to the rest of the group, Player turns on his flashlight and jumps abnormally several times. As he lands on the floor each time, creating a little thud, an eerie response is soon heard coming from underneath; a knocking sound, audible despite the sound of the blazing fire and Dr. Unpleasant's increasingly heavy breathing. It seems that perhaps there is a basement underneath, and that someone, or something, may be down there.
   
   Meanwhile, Lauren examines the door, which is now aflame. He focuses on the lock mechanism, noticing that there is a thick metal deadbolt that is keeping the door from opening. This however is the normal locked state of the door, and the part that seems broken is the deadbolt knob, which upon interaction was loose and did not cause the bolt to move. As Lauren goes for a closer look, a large piece of ceiling debris suddenly crashes down onto Lauren, knocking him to the ground. Lauren suffers a concussion and becomes weakened.

   Dr. Unpleasant, wincing from the pain, momentarily notices a reflection of himself in the silverware on the table. For a moment it seemed like there was a shadowy spectre looming over him menacingly, or perhaps it was just the dizzying side effect of the venomous snake bite. Lauren, still on the ground from his head injury, momentarily sees the formation of a disturbing phantom in the nearby flames; a woman with her entire lower jaw missing, staring right at him. The figure soon dissipates back into the flames, leaving Lauren uncertain whether it was just a fabrication of his concussed state or something else.

Quickly, chop the wounded bit off of Unpleasant before the venom spreads!

If there's time, walk around the room listening for loose floorboards which I could pry up with my dagger.

Before someone cuts off someone's limbs(they haven't introduced themselves yet), Scarlet immediately ran towards the delirious doctor. Upon checking on him, she noticed something that looks resembles a snake bite at his shoulders, Scarlet ripped off the fabric around wound like tissue to inspect the wound even further.

"This is bad." Scarlet muttered. "It looks like this person is bitten by a venomous snake."

Scarlet used the cloth she just ripped as bandage and wrapped it around the area, hoping that it would slow the progress of the venom. "Just breathe slowly." She whispred, "Don't panic." She instructed.

"Did someone saw what type of snake bit this gentleman?" She cried. "If we can determine what type serpent it is we might be able to save him."

"Guys? Anyone?" Although uncertain it would work, Scarlet plans to suck the venom out instead, she has done this multiple times in her war ridden life but it isn't a sure fire way to save someone. If only there is an antidote lying around here, things would be easy.

If anyone tries to cut off a piece of me gets hit with the candelabra, also try to find the snake so we can find out what it is, and cooperate the person that's trying to help me.

"Can someone translate what he said for me?" She requested.

"Goddamn it, it looks like I had no other choice but to try suck out the venom." She thought. " A minute wasted will be the end of this guy, come to think of it, despite all the commotion, no one came down and greet them, it seems that this house is truly abandoned, plus the floor is creaking, there might be basement underneath."

"Can someone check the upper floors for medicine?" She asked, while tightening the bandage around the snake bite. When all was set, without a second of hesitation, Scarlet started sucking out the venom out of the Doctor's wounds.

Player crouch besides Scarlet. Pulling the knife and looking around.

The bot guy is on defensive state and will pull the gun once hostile is detected.

Mustard took a step back and reassessing the situation while shouting "STANDING ATTACK". He then let his ability [BAN STAB] out before another enemy attack commence. After seeing the snake bitten the guy besides him. He then chase after the snake that was hiding inside the cupboard and let his stand [BAN STAB] to destroy wherever the snake is slithering away right now while shouting "BAN BAN BAN BAN BAN BAN BAN BAN"

Turn 2.

   Tri hurries towards Dr. Unpleasant, dagger in hand and motioning to chop off the wounded bit before the venom spreads. Before the chopping could commence, Scarlet immediately runs to Dr. Unpleasant and starts bandaging the wound.
   
   Dr. Unpleasant waves his candelabra as a warning to any oncoming surgeons that would try to cut off a piece of him, deterring Tri from approaching any closer. Dr. Unpleasant then looks around and tries to find the snake, while cooperating with Scarlet as she inspects the wound. Dr. Unpleasant is soon able to locate the snake, which was now nestled within the shadows of one of the open cupboards, peering at the travelers tauntingly as they scrambled to deal with the venom it had injected into its victim.

   Tri then says something to Scarlet in an unknown language, which she isn't able to understand as she asks for a translation, but noone else seems to speak the language either. Scarlet soon decides that she has no choice but to try and suck the venom out of Dr. Unpleasant's wound, a maneuver that she is experienced with, but is by no means a guaranteed success. Without another moment wasted, she puts her mouth to the wound and begins trying to extract the venom.

   Meanwhile, Player crouches beside Scarlet, looking around with his knife and gun at the ready. Suddenly, a flurry of shadows dash across the ground to the south, as Player immediately points his gun to the source of the movement and sees the tail end of a group of rats scurrying across the floor. He relaxes a bit, but continues being vigilant.

   Soon after, Scarlet finishes sucking out the venom, spitting out the extracted substance without harm to herself. She is however only able to extract part of the venom, as some of it had already seeped too deep into the wound. This partial removal would likely slow the progress of the venom and its symptoms, but would not totally remedy Dr. Unpleasant's condition. Dr. Unpleasant continues to feel the impact of the venom in his body, though a good deal less so than before.

   Mustard takes a step back and reassesses the situation while announcing "STANDING ATTACK". He then goes after the snake that was inside the cupboard, utilizing his [BAN STAB] ability while shouting "BAN BAN BAN BAN BAN BAN!" The snake deftly dodges around Mustard's hand stabs, and soon the bottom of the cupboard collapses from damage, allowing the snake to escape back into the crevices of the kitchen woodwork and leaving Mustard with bruised hands.

   In the meantime, Tri had been walking around the room listening for loose floorboards which could be pried up with their dagger. Tri soon finds one such floorboard in the southeast part of the room, and pries it up, opening a small gap into the pitch blackness below. The knocking sound that had been coming from underneath had now stopped completely, and the only audible noise was the burning of the flames nearby.

   The downed Lauren soon gets up and looks around in a strange way. He then mysteriously walks through the west doorway and disappears into the darkness.

Despite all the noise and commotion, Scarlet has yet to see any response from the home owners assuming this place isn't abandoned. However, if this place is truly abandoned, she doesn't have the slightest idea as to why, not to mention, the place was well lit when they arrived there.

"You should not move around that much," she said with a soft tone to the man she just helped. "I don't think you are in the clear yet so if its possible you should avoid doing extreme activities to prevent the venom from spreading quickly in your bloodstream."

Scarlet tightened the tourniquet and moved towards the stairs, "I'll find something that can remedy your situation. Anyone want to go with me above, just follow me."

Before climbing up stairs she turned around one final time and passive-aggressively said, "and please don't destroy any more things as I am away."

Turn 3.
   
   Tri continues prying at the floorboards, using their dagger for leverage. The gap on the floor becomes bigger as more floorboards are pried up, and soon there is a sizable opening leading to the level below. It's dark underneath, but there seems to be something shiny on the floor. Taking a closer look, it appears to be... a chest full of gold!

   Dr. Unpleasant moves away from the snake infested cabinets and goes to look at the strange statue. It appears to be some kind of twisted amalgamation of bizarre forms and limb-like protrusions, hauntingly symmetrical in its towering stature. Parts of it seem to resemble freakish faces, or perhaps the statue just has a knack for invoking pareidolia. In any case, one would have to wonder what sort of unstable mind constructed the object, and for what purpose.

   Player sticks close to Scarlet, jumping several times in front of her. The sound of Player's boots hitting the floor echoes across the hollow flooring, but is seemingly met with no response from below.

   Scarlet soon decides to search upstairs. She ascends the dusty staircase, soon finding herself in a dark hallway on the upper floor. The place looks run-down, with dust and cobwebs growing everywhere. A few doors can be seen along the hallway, one of them half open. The right of the hallway leads around a shadowy corner with a flickering lamp guiding the way, and the left of the hallway leads into total darkness. Just beneath the seeming stillness of the environment, strange murmurs and muffled speech can be heard coming from somewhere.

   Back downstairs, Player suddenly hears a light tapping sound coming from the ground just under him. He looks down to investigate the floor, but everything seems normal... until he sees, just behind the crevices in the floorboards, a pair of eyes staring straight at him from the other side. The eyes, seemingly human, soon retract back into the darkness of the basement.
   
   Meanwhile, Mustard Frank seems a bit confused about something as he examines his bruised hands.

Despite the spooky murmurs, no one seems to answer.

"I am sorry that we trespassed your lovely home," she slowly walked towards the left door. "We didn't mean to enter uninvited," she held the doorknob, "I hope you don't mind..." She turned the doorknob and checked the room at the left.

Mustard tracks the enemy by not using standing power. He put his body on the floor and start to sniff any suspicious smell where its not the same as the other participants in the room. He marches towards wherever he can track the smell while rolling himself on the floor continuously

Turn 4.

   Dr. Unpleasant carefully opens the northwest doorway. A sinister creaking sound reverberates as the door opens, revealing a shadowy room full of vague silhouettes and dormant outlines. The room is quiet, seemingly vacant of any activity. After not detecting any signs of immediate danger, Dr. Unpleasant enters the room and gets a closer look at the shadowy objects. Nearby are some shelves, on which there are a number of books and an assortment of figurines and mementos, both strange and mundane, from times long past. Some titles of the shelved book include "Treatise on the Fundamentals of Crypto-Divinity", "Great Annals of the Rogue", and "Forgotten Delicacies: The Cuisine of the Swamp". Underneath the bookcase is a drawer, from which darkness seems to be leaking out. Surely it must be a trick of the dim lighting. The other shadows in the room remain in obscurity, silently watching the outsider.
 
   Upstairs, Scarlet approaches the left door and turns the doorknob. The door opens easily enough, revealing a dark room resembling a child's bedroom. The room is populated by various furniture items including a smallish sized bed, a closet, a dresser, and a nightstand. As Scarlet scans the room, something suddenly catches her eye--she sees a human girl huddled in a corner, watching her silently from within the shadows.

   Back downstairs, Mustard begins tracking the enemy, putting his body to the floor and sniffing for any suspicious smells. Mustard soon detects a particularly unusual yet strangely wonderful scent coming from the cabinets in the south west corner of the room, and adeptly rolls towards the area. Determining the smell to be originating from within one of the cabinets, Mustard opens the respective cabinet and peers inside, seeing a strange flowery plant growing out of the ground through the bottom of the cabinet. The exotically pleasant aroma it is giving off becomes noticeably more pungent with Mustard being so close to its source. Mustard can't help but feel a degree of relaxation as the soothing aroma envelops him.

   Meanwhile, Tri is knocking rhythmically on the floorboards, with dagger at the ready. Soon after, Tri detects movement from underneath, and a grimey face is soon seen on the other side of the floorboards. Tri then tightens their grip on the dagger and unleashes a deft stab through the floorboards--a direct hit on the one of the creature's eyes. A series of low sorrowful screams and cries are heard as the creature immediately retracts away from the floorboards. Tri then retrieves the now bloodied dagger from the floorboard, as the screams continue, filling the room with wails of despair, even audible to those upstairs.

   Player had been on the way up the stairs when he heard the awful howls from below, as he then quickens his pace to meet with Scarlet. He soon joins the dark-haired woman inside the bedroom to witness the strange girl huddled in the corner, who had now shifted her gaze to the newcomer.

Player bought HE Grenade which is cost of 300 credits, deducted from 800 into 500 credits.

He then pull the pin and throw it to the strange girl.

Scarlet slowly and carefully approached the young girl at the corner, she took something from her purse and showed it to the child. It was some kind of sugary treat of some sort. "Hi," she cheerfully yet respectfully said. "We are sorry to have scared you with all the ruckus we have done downstairs."

She inched a little closer to the girl but stayed at a respectable distance from her. Scarlet, extended her arm, trying to give the child the delicious treat she had on hand.

"You wan't some? It's chocolate." She said.

Turn 5.

   Dr. Unpleasant continues looking around the room, watched back in turn by the silent shadows surrounding him like a hostile courtroom of darkness. He's not able to discern much more from where he's standing, only that there seems to be a dim purplish glow coming from beyond the shadowy mass across the room.

   Dr. Unpleasant proceeds to look in the suspiciously eerie drawer. However, the drawer is locked, for better or for worse. There is a keyhole in the middle part of the drawer, though in its rickety condition, perhaps there are others ways of forcing it open, if one were determined enough to seek whatever lies within.

   Taking a closer look at the mementos, Dr. Unpleasant notices a few wooden figurines that seem to be a part of a collection. One of the figurines looks rather familiar... in fact, it looks very much like a small wooden figure of Dr. Unpleasant himself! Examining the other five figurines, they seem to also resemble the other five people that arrived here with him. Surely, this was another coincidence, a misconception of the mind?
   
   The other mementos on the shelf include various trinkets and charms, including an ornate-looking rod, a larger figurine of a demonic three-tongued creature, and a miniature head, disturbingly realistic in its textures and features.

   Meanwhile upstairs, Player obtains a High Explosive Grenade through the interface of his specialized equipment, and pulls the pin, throwing it to the strange girl huddled in the corner.

   The girl looks disinterestedly at the deadly armament that rolls next to her, half-heartedly anticipating the fiery finale that was expected to come... but none did. The grenade simply makes a light mechanical whirring sound, releasing a small amount of gas afterwards. It seems that perhaps the detonator had malfunctioned.

   "Huh, I guess it's not my time just yet." She shrugs to herself.

   The girl watches Scarlet approach, her expression still a disinterested curiosity. She looks at the treat being offered to her, and soon takes it, unwrapping it and taking a bite.

   "Mmm... I haven't had anything like this in a while." She looks up at Scarlet. "You must not be from around here, huh?" She takes another bite. "That's a pity. You don't deserve to be here. Then again, who does?..." She continues eating the chocolate, looking around the room at the shadows like old acquaintences, wearing the same detached expression.

   Meanwhile downstairs the dreadful moaning from the basement begins to dwindle, now becoming a soft and seemingly everpresent humming, low and ghostly. Aside from this the room is quiet. The fires near the door begin to die down as well, as only a small cinder remains, darkening the room significantly. Shadows begin creeping out with the diminishing of light, their insubstantial whispers commingling with the haunted humming coming from the basement.

   In the corner of the room, it seems that Mustard Frank has fallen unconscious, perhaps or perhaps not due to his discovery of the plant inside the drawer.

Grab the figure of myself and the ornate rod, then go see if kicking the drawer manages to break it so I can open it, if that fails use the rod o pry it open.
