Title: Titans of Creation: Redux [7/7 Titans Creating!]
Post by: Digital Hellhound on July 08, 2020, 10:28:32 am
Based on the great original by Iituem. (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=152612.msg6450208#msg6450208) I'll let them tell how it is, with some edits:

In this game, players take on the role of great titans of creation, shaping a new world. I will take seven players, and there are a handful of rules set up to give this game an ending and some basic structure.  There is no particular turn order, you create as and when you want once we start, as it is not possible to win this game.

Rules

 - Each Titan starts with 1000 points.  No more points may be earned.
 - Creating a new law or amending an existing law (or set of laws) of physics costs 250 points, or 20 if limited to a specific area (e.g. anti-gravity, magical ley lines, halt of ageing, the rudiments of a magic system).
 - Altering the cosmos costs 100 points. (e.g. A new moon, a new sun, destroying a world, tearing a rift in space and time)
 - Creating a major geographical feature costs 50 points (e.g. mountain, sea, jungles etc).
 - Creating a new broad family of life costs 50 points (e.g. trees, giant mushroom forests, dragonkin, giant vortices of light-reflecting obsidian).
 - Creating a new sapient race costs 50 points, but note: In this game, this race will never become more advanced than the Bronze Age.
 - Creating a specific new type of creature or plantlife costs 10 points (e.g. dragons, trolls, golems, triffids, cinnamon, chaos mushrooms).
 - Creating a special landmark costs 25 points (e.g. magical monolith, motherlode of gold, well of sorrows).
 - Creating a special artefact costs 50 points (e.g. the infinity sword, the bottomless bag, the bone of contention).
 - More rules and costs, as and when needed.

 - When you are out of points, or decide to retire, each Titan's final act is to create a god to steward the world in their absence, and then the Titans move on to another world.

There we have it. I will be writing the results of your creations and drawing a Wonderdraft map as we go along to represent our fine new world. I have no immediate plans for what to do with the resulting world, but it's a nice communal worldbuilding session that anyone can then use for their own purposes! The original was already great fun on its own. You are free to go wild with your creations, but creating blatant expies of some existing franchise or meme creations is heavily frowned upon.

Hey DH, long time.

Name: Cathex
Appearance: The Cathex rarely acquires a physical form, instead investing itself into existing matter when the need or 'desire' arises. Drifting space dust, open water, the artist's easel, the fiend's blade, the stones of monuments, the pulp of rotting logs, all can be host to the titan spirit of the Cathex. Subtle for a titan, such habitation comes with little physical alteration of the substrate. In the absence of any material substrate, or for formal occasions between peers, the Cathex manifests multiple thin sheets of reflective dust, bending and wrapping them into a shape somewhat akin to that of a passion flower. Name: Tirama
Appearance: A large green bird made of leaves where feathers would be. The wings are 2 large leaves, allowing it to fly. Where its beak would be, is 4 purple petals which open and close. This is its mouth. Its eyes are compound, like that of an insect. Its legs are made of brown bark, its talons having 3 front toes and 3 back toes.

I just have to say the amount of games full of divinity and creation popping up excites me to no end! Speaking of which, my potential Titan here is an unused concept from another game that I feel had some merit, and will likely fit better here than elsewhere. I'll give this a shot!

You only do this at the end of the game. No harm done, but you might end up changing your mind and making something else altogether at that point.

Hey DH, long time.

Heyo! Indeed.

I just have to say the amount of games full of divinity and creation popping up excites me to no end! Speaking of which, my potential Titan here is an unused concept from another game that I feel had some merit, and will likely fit better here than elsewhere. I'll give this a shot!

God games are always popular, but there is a boom in them right now, isn't there? The more the merrier. Welcome aboard.

Six players is plenty to start, so I'll get to work on the opening post. The seventh (and Roboson, when they have time to finish their app) can join as we go along!

I.

This is a place without time. A world of endless still waters orbits a frozen sun. The moment is eternal, suspended, waiting - and at once, or at last, the waiting ends, as the Sun stirs and seven Titans emerge into existence. They watch and descend, moving upon the face of the waters, as Time takes its first hesitant breaths. Creation begins.

The world is nameless. A vast ocean covers it fully. It orbits the Sun, a dynamo of divine fire that makes all this be. Two other worlds spin in the darkness further out, barren and dead. In the epochs that pass, simple life forms and multiplies in the ocean depths, laying the foundation for what is to come.

Tirama creates kelp, tall aquatic multicellular sessile photosynthetic organisms. One stem and many leaves growing along the stem, over time they reach ever higher, limited only by how much water there is and how much sunlight reaches them.

Waving kelp forests springing into life, dancing, glimmering, breathing 'neathe the light swept depths. It was a peaceful time, tranquil and wonderful to the nascent eye. But those whom took the firmament into their own hands, Titans were they, extent at last. These beings knew that which must be done, seeking little else than to impose theirs will.

Perculus was no different.

From the mixing, foaming sea waters, baking in the heat, and the sulfuric fog rising from untapped vents amidst the bedrock, the bronze collossus emerged. Rsing to the surface of these briny waters where the Sun kissed them gently, as did it to he. Gleaming, reflecting a radiant gratitude across the metal skin of the Titan.

There, as it stood from the ancient waters, it became enraptured by the beauty of the avian Tirama and their caring first touch upon this canvas. Perculus' golden face of Vanity took to the sight and drew him to work. With a wide sweep of his great arm, the titan wrested a swath of this seaweed into his grip. And with it weaved a cord fit for the floral bird. Then, he runs those fingers through the seabed itself, gathering all manner of gem and stone, compacting it to a single oval, that takes on a lucent shade.

To this cord he affixes the gem, and to this necklace he speaks a solemn word of admiration, creating this world's first artefact. ( 50 points ) And to Tirama, the Lord of Storms presents it without a word.

Tirama takes the necklace. Her petals open, producing a sound a bit like this (https://youtu.be/X7t--zPZdic), attempting to communicate that she likes the necklace and gem. She then creates small creatures with hardened exoskeletons that crawl among the kelp, eating some, but due to their small size not really doing permanent damage. Some of these creatures eat the microbes that fill the waters, some even target other species of this family. The bronze Titan Perculus has a shell, so too will the first multicellular creatures, to protect them from future threats.
Tirama creates the Arthropods: 50 points

The others haven't found the time to post acts yet, but might as well update already.

II.

The Titans begin their great work. All of existence is young and scarcely knows of the terrible force of entropy to come. The joy of creation is at its purest.

Kelp come to being throughout the world-sea. With no competition, they thrive. Kelp forests appear where the seas are shallow and the sunlight plentiful.

Arthropods spread in the world-sea, scuttling, crawling, floating and burrowing in search of food. They find it in the fledgling forests of kelp and sometimes in other living beings. The creatures fill a wide variety of niches and take up myriad forms, forming elaborate ecosystems within the kelp forests and ocean depths. Many take on qualities of the Titan that inspired their creation, with gleaming bronze shells and gilded chitin.

The Sea Sapphire is created out of love and admiration and gifted unto the Titan Tirama. Time will tell what strange divine qualities this artifact may possess.

Frost slowly moves to act.

250 points, New Law, Mana.
They seed the cosmos with divine mana, with which the sentient may use to cast magic. With which creatures can grow and incorporate it into themselves to achieve fantastical feats.

25x7=175 points, Landmark, World Trees
Into the ocean, seeds are planted around the world., and magnificent trees grow underwater, generating mana ad infitum, recycling it.

50 points, sapient race, Fairy
And with divine power are born the Fairy, which tend to the world and help others, born near the very Trees that were created. A magical race that feeds upon the mana of the world and do not require breathing, who can survive many different conditions and be changed depending on where their home is placed. So long as the land they have chosen lives, if they are killed they will revive at that land. A cheerful and short race not much afraid of death, with wings and young bodies that do not age.

Frost is slow to act, but quick as a sudden storm when doing so.

This world...fresh and pristine...but formless...unstable

Major geographical feature (-50): Volcano Island
The crust of this unnamed world ruptures as hot gases, molten rock, and ash attempt to escape from below the depths. As molten rock spews and cools, the first landmass begins to peak out of the water

Special Landmark (-25) : Obsidian Spire
A massive spike of volcanic grass emerges from the seas. It shoots hundreds of feet into the skies, bearing silent witness to a world full of potential

Perculus is jubilant to hear the melodious chimes of Tirama. For his mere gift of the corded necklace, from this feeling welling up within the thick metals that coat his skin, the Titan's face of Vanity gleams with a great smile. The gilded surface of Perculus' second face is polished so by the sweeping currents of the sea, that the Sun's beams reflect upon it.

The Lord of Storm's grin is just so, that it refracts upon all the heavens above, creating hundreds of specular lights. Stars. And so it was, that the basis of the worlds above were the wide-eyed smile of Perculus. May they ever bear his jovial heart upon the world below.

In his jubilation, Perculus creates the many wheeling stars and constellations above (100 Points)

At that, the Collossus digs dip within his abdomen and pulls forth a collection of seven artefacts. Each bears seven varrying lengths of bronze rods, fluted, that the sea breeze may pass through them. To this they are connected by strands, his thick vessels and veins of molten blood, to a core of wood from which they may so hang. To the seven World Trees that have sprung from the Primordial ocean, he affixes upon them these chimes. Ever may their melodies soothe the nascent creatures of the land, as Tirama did for he.

In a return of inspiration, Perculus creates artefacts that whistle in the wind for each great tree. (50 Points)

At this feat The Lord of Storms looks upon the pair of new ascendant beings, the Dark Slate, Ordo. And the Shimmering Brillance, Frost. To they, his granite face of 'Resolve' speaks resolute in tone, "KNOW THAT I NAME THEE KIN!" He declares along with great open arms. For all the many meanings his words bring forth.

III.

The Titans grow ever more diligent. Only a few among them still slumber, and the world becomes stranger and greater by the moment.

Mana is created. This divine energy permeates the cosmos, a fragment of its creator's power. Sentient creatures who manage to harness Mana may imbue themselves with it to grow and perform miraculous acts.

Seven World Trees sprout around the world-sea, rising until they breach the surface of the waves and spread their vast canopies to greet the Sun. These magnificent trees generate and recycle Mana, forming the hearts of magic in this new world.

Fairies appear by the World Trees. These magical creatures sustain themselves upon the Mana around them and adapt to the environments they find themselves in. They are a cheerful, friendly race, whose lives are innately tied to the land they choose to inhabit. They are the first thinking race of this new reality.

With a shaking of stone and a steaming of seas, a landmass known as Volcano Island breaks forth from the skin of the world. It spews molten earth that cools into the first solid ground. While still barren and lifeless, the fertile volcanic ash coating its sides promises a fine foundation for growth.

Nearby, an Obsidian Spire comes to be as well, striking out high into the sky to loom over the newborn world.

Stars and Constellations appear, cascading in their multitudes across the once-black night sky to illuminate the void. This tapestry of light brings great joy into the hearts of the Fairies, the only living beings to truly appreciate the vast change in the cosmos. They shall never forget the sight.

The Chimes of the World Trees are created. These magical artifacts adorn the seven World Trees, whistling as the wild primordial wind passes through them. The sounds they make soothe the spirits of those who live in their shadow.

Belphagus awakens and surveys the newborne world, and decides that it is... rather lacking in something. To add in his own spice into the mix, he sets to work.

(50 points) Belphagus creates the Gapheli, large, powerful orca humanoids. Amphibious and tailor-made to oppose the fairies, the Gapheli are savage and tribal creatures gifted with cunning and strength survive what maladies and trials the new world may offer.

50 (points) He then creates a large landmass to the southwest of the volcanic island, sharing, to a degree, in the first landmass's volcanism, if more muted and inert. The landscape is divided into to parts, with the eastern half being rough and hilly, with plenty of valleys and fjords, these give way to the lowlands which are dominated by plains and expanses, with large rivers flowing from the mountainous part of the landmass and a few hilly areas and lone mountains sprinkled in.

(Remaining points: 900)

IV.

Grass in its myriad forms sprouts from the waiting earth, swaddling the young world in green.

Gapheli are created. These savage and powerful creatures become the second thinking race upon the new world. They are amphibious, with powerful bodies resembling those of the Orca of other worlds. Their creator intends them as a counter to the Fairies. Soon the first folk are under attack at the roots of the World Trees. The innocence lost in these first clashes can never be recovered, though the soothing effect of the Chimes proves to be a deterrent of a sort against greater violence.

Belphagus' Continent is raised from the waters south-west of Volcano Island. This great land holds both mountain valleys, hills and fjords in the east and endless plains in its western reaches. In the south, proximity to the world's pole results in cold tundra instead. The landmass envelops one of the World Trees in its western end, a mighty oak that now casts a long shadow over the grasslands. Life is quick to colonize the new continent, with simple lifeforms, shore-dwelling arthropods, Gapheli and Fairies coming to inhabit the land.

"Whom art I, to cast a name upon the infinite cosmos?" So speaks the burning visage of Perculus, the face of Penance.

The Bronze Titan looks upon his kin and admires their work for an age. Unmoving from his place standing amidst the sea. He bears witness to the first crimson streaks of blood across this world as the Gapheli of Belphagus tear apart the innocents of Frost's Faeries. The World Trees are stricken at their roots supping gently of the beginnings of blooded conflicts. To that his face of Penance weeps, expelling a thick steam across the land for Perculus tears evaporate upon it. This steam thickens and takes upon itself a dour, dark hue, and at last rises into the heavens, blotting out the sun and stars. These clouds rumble with a cacophony of pain, thundering and wailing. Within an hour, the first crack of lightning erupts from on high, a massive bolt of light. Followed there after by a deluge of fresh rainwater unlike that of the seas. This storm itself, does not part for some time.

Perculus creates the first storm like that of his namesake. (50 Points)

Perculus creates the first storm like that of his namesake. (50 Points)

Nice, but you don't have to pay points for a mundane storm. Would you like to make it unusual in some way (permanent somewhere, all storms in this world channel Mana, gives birth to lightning people, etc)?

(( Hmm, perhaps not permanent. Though I do like the feeling of them channelling this innate mana like you mentioned. So we'll say that, on top of striking a reverent fear, not of the Titans persay, but of nature as a whole and the awe of life that takes root in its rains simultaneously in the few races of the world. ))

As his tears rain across the lands with a mournful pitter and patter, the mighty Bronze Colossus gazes upon the six other Titans across this nameless world. Their sedentary nature and lack of inspirited creation sends a dour chill across his metallic skin. At that thought he sets upon new creators. Perculus descends into the nascent lands of the people of Ash, wearing his face of Resolve. To they he clears a site with a great sweep of the arm amidst the end of the rivers within the north eastern mountain gulf, upon the lands of Belphagus. It is there that he directs the Ashborn to build, not in his name, not in the name of their creator, but in their own.

Frost speaks to the Ashborn in the form of a winter, as their homes are completed.. That your angers be cooled, and your hearts become wellsprings of a determination to set your own path, not that which was laid for you. To practice Free Will, to forge your own path from the ash of your birth which would have you only destroy.

Frost then acts to create the Infinite Dungeon, a tower which reaches from the heavens to the earth below. This tower has numerous monsters which spawn within, growing stronger as one goes further in, with safe floors every 25 floors, and specific paths which connect them. This Infinite Dungeon also pierces space itself, appearing on the other two worlds. The infinite draws Mana from the world, and it floods out to these other two planets, the life-giving mana energizing them. In time, they too shall live once more, fantastical places. The Mana will flood them, and in time, stabilize, and those that live shall also give Mana upon their life and death. The Infinite Dungeon does have an end point, but is so far within itself that to reach their would take many many lifetimes and true heroes beyond legends. When the gods go to rest, this shall be it's own individual worlds for them to slumber eternally.

V.

The thirdborn race comes. Blood spilled weighs upon a celestial heart, and the fury unleashed leaves its scars upon the world. Time and space groan and twist under the weight of a boundless dungeon.

Ashborn arise on the soot-blackened and smoke-choked slopes of Volcano Island. These ashen-skinned humanoids are the third thinking race to come into being, striking a balance between the magical affinity of the Fairies and the physical dominance of the Gapheli. They spread from Volcano Island to Belphagus' Continent as hunter-gatherers, eating edible grasses, harvesting kelp and hunting arthropod prey as they go. Most settle on the broken eastern coast of the Continent, where the food is plentiful and where they can still see the familiar black fumes of Volcano Island on the horizon.

Scarcely have the Ashborn learned to survive in this world when the Titan Perculus descends upon them. The Edict of Resolve leaves no chance for disobedience - with divine authority, Perculus commands the Ashborn to migrate over the mountains to a place of many rivers laid out for them. Here they are to build and raise up structures for themselves and learn self-reliance in a world of gods. Many of the Ashborn make the arduous trek to the mountain valley and erect monuments of stone to mark their coming. Though they continue to live nomadic lives, this Valley of the Ashborn becomes a place of importance to the young race.

The Primordial Storm breaks out as lightning and torrential rains hammer the world. The deluge continues for some time, flooding coastal lands and raising rivers over their banks across the land. The fury of the relentless storm is such that it shakes the very being of the three thinking races living through it. The Fairies, Gapheli and Ashborn are instilled with a powerful fear and reverence of the power of nature - and an awe of the life-giving force inherent in the rain. The divine power of the Storm echoes forevermore in its lesser descendants - storms now act as powerful channels of Mana, with radiant magical energy coursing through every lightning strike and shimmering in every droplet of rain.

Birds flock into being all over the world. They find roosts in the high mountains of Belphagus' Continent and on the branches of the World Trees. Their songs add to the music of the Chimes, giving birth to symphonies of rare beauty. The smaller arthropods of the world offer plentiful food for the new species. Some bold individuals even attempt to prey on the Fairies. This has unintended consequences, as the offending birds of prey are captured, befriended and tamed through magic and kindness.

The Infinite Dungeon is created on Belphagus' Continent, and simultaneously upon the two barren worlds further from the Sun. Vast amounts of Mana surge into the Dungeon and through it onto the Outer Worlds, seeding them with fantastical life. Monstrous creatures, taking on shapes that are strange and twisted reflection of living beings in the world above, or of creatures no folk have ever seen or thought of, fill the depths of the Dungeon. So Monsters are born - creatures of Mana, reflecting the world around them, taking on myriad different forms and purposes in the pits of their endless prison.

So it shall be that the Dungeon will, in time, provide tombs for the Titans and gods at the end of their lives. Such is Law, and only the efforts of another Titan could hope to repeal it.

The first explorer of the Dungeon proves to be a brash and young Gapheli. He tears through three levels of monsters before expiring, convinced to the end that vast treasures await just further in.

Deep within the Infinite Dungeon lies the resting place of the frost, a vast underground lake, formed from it's body, a dark blue. Nature takes it's course where no light truly shines. And deep within the pool lies a hollow crystal, all that remains of a titan's divinity.

Behold, for this location sees to the creation of treasures magical and mundane, unique and common, and deeper still, legend and divine artifact. Mana used to form them, it will shape the world for eons to come.

From this core gives rise to a god.

Preferred form of worship: Material value, primary in the form of money collected from the dungeon itself.

Tirama, while flying around, notices a colony of ground dwelling arthropods that seem to be working together. She gives the species sapience, so it may learn.
Tirama creates Sapient Ants 50 points

Tirama also names the sea Life’s origin

VI.

The Titan Frost descends through the Infinite Dungeon, thawing into eternal sleep. The Sapphire Lake is born in their passing - a vast underground lake, where the Titan's power conjures forth miraculous treasures for the millenia to come. A god is born to take their place, left in sleep atop the Titan's crystal until the time comes for them to awaken.

Sapient Ants are uplifted from a colony of common arthropods. These eusocial creatures retain the diminutive size of their animalistic brethren, but their new awareness and ability to draw in Mana makes them a force to behold. While an individual Ant can only channel a meager stream of Mana into itself, the combined efforts of thousands allows them to effect powerful changes on the world around them. The Queens of their hives quickly become adept at changing and controlling their environment by focusing the gathered Mana of their workers and soldiers alongside their own. The Ants soon rise to dominate their bestial peers, pressing other insects into beasts of burden or war.

Hoarland arises from the depths. Cold, rugged and inhospitable, this vast northern continent demands much of its inhabitants and explorers. The southern reaches of the continent are frigid but habitable, with cold grasslands sheltering a considerable variety of life. Further in, tundra and glacier dominate. Alpine mountain ranges form an uneven spine for the new land. The landmass envelopes a World Tree - a titanic cedar still thriving despite its new environment. Fairies and Gapheli are the first to spread into Hoarland from their seas and Trees.

The Well of Life Eternal is created in the far reaches of Hoarland. It is a reward for those who brave the frozen continent's perils - those who drink from the Well find their diseases cured and their youth restored. Finding the Well will take a heroic effort, though, and a trek into the icy heart of the continent.

Grey-zers come to life. They are large terrestrial beasts well fit for use as beasts of burden or butchered for their meat. They feed on the ample grasses of the world, becoming the first grazers.

(as a note, seem to be bad about this, but the treasures are t be placed within the dungeon as rewards. The deeper in you go, the better the reward, and tougher the challenges.)

Ah, sensible. Will edit descriptions slightly.

Belphagus first turns his attention to his continent's name, naming it Belphaga in a fit of dramatic pride.

Then, seeing the continents barren of life beyond grass, he creates forests for them (50 points), to provide ample shelter and material for the creatures that live in and amongst them. And to ensure that there are creatures to live amongst the trees, He spends his power to create an ecosystem for these forests (50 points)

Then, he turns his attention to the Gapheli, and sees some potential between them and the storms. Unto them, he makes those Gapheli born during a storm granted the ability to call upon the powers of the storm for their own use. (20? Points)

tools...control...the power...

Special Artifact (-50) The Raging Flamestone
Nested away in a hidden cave on Volcano Island rests a brilliant red gemstone shaped into a perfect sphere. Runes of a divine nature are carved onto it. Any who wield the stone will gain the ability to manipulate fire and lava with utmost ability.

Special Artifact (-50) The Pensive Icicle
A counterpart to the Flamestone, the Icicle grants its wielder control over the cold and the ice. Summoning blizzards or hailstorms come easily to those lucky enough to wield the artifact. An icicle made of enchanted ice, it is hidden away somewhere in Hoarland, never to ever melt

But...danger...await

New Type of Creature(-10) Carnivorous Iceberg
Massive crab-like creatures that live in the cold waters up north. Collecting chunks of ice and rock on their back, these creatures camouflage themselves as icebergs. Currently they feed on oceanic arthropods, each other, and any poor land dweller that sails to close.

New Type of Creature(-10) Frost Warden
Magical golems of snow, ice, and rock given the gift of life. These creatures patrol the frozen tundra of Hoarland, guarding the Well of Life Eternal.

The Bronze Titan, the Lord of Storms sheds a single tear for his kin in Frost. The frigid one thawed away for its many grand acts that shaped these lands, no, this cosmos far and true. They say the brightest of flames flicker out the swiftest. . .

It brings Perculus to look upon itself, through the visage of its three disparate faces. What great works could the Titan speak of for itself? Chimes and gems? Tears like rain and thunderous thoughts? 'Neath the storms he gazed upon the industrious Ashborn, for whom they gave the will to create, mortal may they be, never did it seem during the great passage of time that they ceased. They were not afraid to lose the many things they would come to build, even in death.

Then he looked to the enigmatic tower, from which the Titans would one day be interred. To this, Perculus felt only melancholy.

He stepped forth among the mountains of the Ashborn, crashing his bronze sole upon a peak, there he sat in contemplation, legs drifting below the sea for all his immensity. Upon this plateau he encircled the clouds that were his cloak, imparting upon it only a vast tranquility. There, above a sea of white cloud, he thought.

The Ponderer's Peak is bourne. (25 Points.) A place from which it seemed any whom rested there felt still amid the world. Stress, trepidation, and the flaws of the mind melted away here, leaving one only to crystal clear thoughts. And truths that could come only from within.

The Cathex witnesses creation with a patient wonderment. Thinking minds, so many, emerging and colliding from the races of those brought forth from the other gods. Such wonderful little lights, hidden away within forms of meat and water. The world of material essences is harsh, full of jagged edges and pushed between extremes of burning heat and savage cold, and such wonderful minds need a place of respite.

Create: Mnemuensis, The Persisted Dream (150 -250?)
From a shard of itself, the Cathex splits the seam of reality - a cut so fine no particle or mundane energy could slip physically between - and funnels its own essence within the new cosmological subdivision. The resulting sub-dimensional pocket is not a space or a place per-se, it exists beneath typical physical rules requiring mass or volume or gravity. Cut as it is between the threads of the fabric of space and time, there is simply no space for space.

Instead of the material, this is a pocket for the metaphysical. This is a place where dreams are born, and where they can live far beyond the death of their hosts. When a mind imagines, that is it creates images and perceptions that are not in immediate sensory response to an external stimulus, the Mnemuensis responds and sculpts and echo of those perceptions. This occurs most readily in a dreamful sleep, where any mind can reach into the Mnemuensis, sculpting out a segment of the dreamspace for themselves via unconscious action. No particular threshold of mental ability is required for this action, no more than having mass requires a threshold of physical ability. A sleeping dog may sculpt a dreamspace for itself, as might a waking poet driven to flights of feverish fantasy by the sight of a particularly cylopean peak or the striking sounds of the chimes of the Arch-Trees.

Yet this connection is not entirely one directional. When the mind is idle and open to experience, when it is looking for inspiration, for guidance, or is simply impressionable, the Mnemuensis can provide inspirations of its. Most commonly it is the dreamspace of the receptive individual that seeps back inwards, providing a sort of reinforcing psychic feedback and reserve of will and identity, but it is entirely possible to connect to other dreams. Such inspirations can be nightmarish or divine, for even Gods and Titans may dream, and it may be dream that was had in the last moment or a dream from ten centuries ago, for time has little meaning to a dream.

Create Broad Class of Life: Acoustiforms (50)
Acoustiformic life represents a divergence from solar-based life forms. Most existing life needs to either derive energy from the sun in order to create sugars and store energy, or it needs to consume life that derives energy from the sun. Acoustiforms, however, derive their basic energy by harnessing soundwaves using intricate protein filaments strung between cellular membrains, allowing them to perform active cellular transportation by tuning with ambient resonant frequencies.

Acoustiforms are typically ultralight creatures, resembling airborne jellyfish with diaphanous mantles and streaming tendrils that orient themselves perpendicular to sounds. Small acoustiforms are frequently found around natural sources of constant sound, waterfalls, cities, etc, but they are capable of falling dormant for extended periods in order to match the natural sound cycle that they feed on. Whirling displays of such creatures are not uncommon around festivals or battlefields both. Wherever there is great and extended clamor, you'll find a few of such creatures.

The Arch-Trees and their chimes feed enormous Acoustiforms, leviathan creatures of gently inclination and simple intelligence whose weightless movements belie a size to dwarf even the largest marine life.

VII.

Life grows ever stranger and more varied. Divine power shapes reality itself. Treasures and dangers await the mortal races.

Forests take root and grow. Lesser reflections of the World Trees sprout around the world in great swathes of brown and green, transforming the earth. All living beings awaken to an entirely different environment. Grasslands and tundra still dominate in many places, but the woods are here to stay.

Forest Life is crafted to fill the new environments with life. This act of creation encompasses a variety of life - moss, flowers, berries, mushrooms; snakes, amphibians, mammals suited for the woodlands. Forests become extremely rich and varied ecosystems, but the specialized nature of their new inhabitants discourages them from migrating beyond the shelter of the trees.

Gapheli born during a storm gain the power to call upon the fury of storms themselves. These Gapheli Stormborn go on to become important figures within their clans and families.

The Raging Flamestone takes shape in a hidden cave on Volcano Island. This divine artifact allows the wielder to control fire and lava. For now, the Flamestone merely waits to be discovered...

The Pensive Icicle takes shape in the wastelands of Hoarland, a counterpart to the Flamestone. It grants its wielder control over blizzards and hail. Like its brother and antithesis, the Icicle is placed in a hidden place, waiting for the day it is picked up by mortal hands.

Carnivorous Icebergs form on the shores of Hoarland. These enormous crab-like creatures disguise themselves as icebergs by collecting chunks of ice and rock on their backs. They hunt oceanic arthropods, one another and any other prey of opportunity - many Gapheli find themselves made a meal for these Carnibergs before they learn to watch out for them.

Frost Wardens come to being in the frozen reaches of Hoarland. These golems of snow, ice and rock patrol the far north, guarding the Well of Life Eternal from interlopers. Mana flows through their veins and sustains them.

The Ponderer's Peak breaks forth from the mountains above the Valley of the Ashborn. This Titan's seat allows those who make the ascent to its cloud-held summit to attain enlightenment and clarity of mind. Climbing the mountain becomes a test of sorts for the leaders of the Ashborn, who seek its insights before beginning their rule.

Mnemuensis, The Persisted Dream is created. This metaphysical realm exists side by side with the physical - it is here that dreams are born and exist independent of the minds that create them. These dreams can provide inspiration and insight to dreamers. Titans and Gods may dream as well, adding to the vast tapestry of imagination that is Mnemuensis.

Acoustiforms come into being. This new class of life does not sustain itself on other life or on Mana, but on sounds. Acoustiforms feed on the energy inherent in soundwaves. They are generally light, mobile creatures resembling diaphanous jellyfish. They vary in size according to the soundscapes they sustain themselves upon, with the titanic Chimes of the World Trees creating equally leviathan Acoustiforms.

Null creates an empty pit in the middle of the ocean, bottomless as far as can be seen. Sailing into it will bring one not off the edge, but to its reflection, the Obsidian Spire.
This landmark shall be known as the Gaping Nothing.

Tirama notes that when things die, they tend to stay there for a while due to nothing decomposing them. Tirama creates the mushroom family (50 points)

Tirama creates a new sapient species, the Flowerlings. Flowerlings are creatures that look like various flowers that are able to move around. Being made of plants, they have an affinity for plant magic, even stronger than the fairies’ plant magic. (Creation of Flowerlings, Sapient life, 50 points)
