I'm terrible at Dwarf Fortress as a player but can't help reading stories and watching the occasional tutorial or gameplay video. What I enjoy the most, though, is learning about the game design and thinking behind the game.
If this is interesting to anyone else here (and I think it might), here's a playlist with all the talks by Zach and Tarn I could find on YouTube.

It's literally hours of content about game mechanics, depths of the simulation, ideas for the future, inspiration from the past, etc.
I'm sure many of you have already seen all these. But some of you mightn't've.
