lolStick to what I know, right?
How many more people do we need to play this.
The side-scroller sounds intriguing.
OK, let's start. We just need one more, but a1s is hosting something, so they may be too busy. I think if that's the case this is probably too niche for new people to drop in unfortunately, so I'll get around to making a more traditional H&H at some point.
Units may not be created until 1 hour after the 3rd player joins.Eh, more can join late. Let's play. Your move, old man Zultan.
That's quite the bump there, so I take it you want to play this with out other people, I'll have to reread all of the stuff since I forgot how this game worked.Units may not be created until 1 hour after the 3rd player joins.Eh, more can join late. Let's play. Your move, old man Zultan.
How'd your game go a1s?It went alright, had some people drop out along the way, but generally I'm satisfied with how it turned out.

Seemed pretty big brained. It was- that's why people dropped out. :-\
Trying to understand the rules. A few questions, it is not clear to me how many actions you can take in a turn:There was nothing to shoot.
Why did the blue soldier never shoot anything?
How did the blue soldier transform into an engineer, was that a mistake?
Why did the green engineer move and capture the door instantly, when the yellow engineer didn't?
How did the first yellow engineer build a wall instantly when he had just entered the scene?
Ok, let's see if I get this.If I understand correctly, a soldier can't shoot through a wall, but can destroy a player's wall. Whereas a firebat can shoot through a wall, destroying it in the process.
More questions:
1. Can a soldier shoot through a wall?
2. Can a firebat fire through a wall?
Also, you can deploy an engineer as the second move.
So, is this legal? Or does my engineer have to start to the right of the airlock?Yup, any adjacent empty space works.
Wait, does attacking not cost an action?Nope:
Engineer Moves:
• (free action)(once per unit) Choose an engineer, an destroy adjacent unit.
Soldier Moves:
• (free action)(once per unit) Choose a soldier, destroy the first unit or enemy wall in a straight line to either the left or right. Hits your units and allies.
Firebat Moves:
• (free action)(once per unit) Choose a firebat, destroy all units and enemy walls on and between the adjacent 3 space to either the left or right. Hits your units and allies. Changes an enemy door into an unowned door.
Well shit, I'm already dead. Guess I should have looked at this before I did other stuff on the forum, oh well better luck next time.(If someone disowns my far door, and you claim it, we can form a slow poster alliance)
• (once per unit) Choose an engineer, change an adjacent enemy door into an unowned door.
I retroactively changed the "take door action" into a "disown door" action instead, and will wait for King to reclaim the door. That seems more fair. It isn't clear that someone would get a chance to claim one of my doors this game otherwise.Ok.
• (replace unit) Choose an engineer who is adjacent to an armory you've captured, replace your engineer with either a soldier or firebat.
• (replace unit) Choose an engineer who is adjacent to an armory you've captured, with no barrier you don't own between them. Replace your engineer with either a soldier or firebat.
• (once per unit) Choose an engineer that hasn't moved. Build a wall in your army color. Your army can move through it. Do not build more walls than Airlocks you own.
I'm on board with Secure Vent Bolts, but I wonder if we should go one step further and forbid capturing/disowning doors if they are behind walls?
Capturing/disowning doors if they are behind floors or walls you don't own, is forbidden.
Proposal: Secure Vent Bolts IISounds good to me.Quote from: changeCapturing/disowning doors if they are behind floors or walls you don't own, is forbidden.
Zultan? Up to you.
I looked over the rules and apparently we can't have more engineers than we have airlocks, and that means the one I just recently spawned is breaking that rule, and as such I removed him.
Engineer Moves:
• Deploy up to 1 engineer per airlock you own, placing each on an empty space adjacent to a different one of your airlocks. When training engineers, you cannot increase your total army population(engineers, soldiers, and firebats) to more than 2 [..] per airlock you own.
You can only move Engineers 1 space.Wait, so 1 unit can only move 1 space in a turn? The rules don't say "(once per unit)".
Proposal: SVB 3Sounds good to me.
Units can't be created on the opposite side of a barrier as the door they came from. (Except your own)
Proposal: SVB 3I'm fine with it.

Anyone bored? I'm in the zone, so I'm good. If the game is getting old lmk, we can add that 50 turn timer..
I see the confusion, a better wording for my last comment:
You can only move any 'given' Engineer 1 space.
I'm the opposite of bored, this game is really cool.Noted. :D
Unlike others, engineers' movement has the '(once per unit)' tag, that's how you know. Engis already have plenty of movement options...I see the confusion, a better wording for my last comment:
You can only move any 'given' Engineer 1 space.
I still don't fully understand this.
Q for the veteran players: would you prefer if these style of games happened after a pause, like last time, or were moreso back to back? We've done top-down, side-view, I think next time I might like to try isometric...
If I've read this stuff right the flamethrower guy can only shoot left and right, which means I might be screwed in this situation.I've been thinking if we do platoon again, perhaps we use a wider map.
1. An Engineer can not move through a non-aligned wall (or floor).
2. Any unit can spend an action to remove a wall (or floor), except if it is black (those are "hard walls").
3. An Engineer can build as many walls (or floors) of their own color as they like.
Once all players take 1 turn:
-Non turn posts are not allowed, if someone makes a mistake, fix it best you can/undo&skip it if that seems impossible without their input, use your best judgment
-In +50 replies after, the player with the most units wins
-If tied, the game continues...an army is eliminated as soon as it has less units than #1
Well, I'd certainly need to save a backup, as this is a total change. How about we nickname your proposal "Breakout", as that is what it reminds me of(which happens to be one of my favorite games).Yes, it would be a big change, so better not to do it now, I guess. Maybe next game?
Your firebat walked through a wall and that makes the other move impossible as well. Not sure how to fix this?
@King ZultanSure, let there be peace between us!
Sorry to keep sending units your way, but I need access to the armory to achieve anything.
Would you be open to a 10 turn peace treaty where I can use the armory?
@a1s, truce?Sure. Let's agree to warn the other 5 turns in advance of resuming hostilities.
Alright.@a1s, truce?Sure. Let's agree to warn the other 5 turns in advance of resuming hostilities.
New Engineer skill
1 active per team
paint a box in your team color, next one of your engineers (not on other side of barrier)
Enemy units moves onto it safely and remove it.
Detonate: If you haven't taken a turn in 6 hours or more, you may remove your colored box, and destroy all units and disown all doors (including friendly for both) that are in a straight line in up and down directions. A map-spanning pillar of destruction.
I fear that remote mines would lead to an unbreakable stalemate so I'm not in favour, sorry.Hmm, that's what it was meant to combat quite precisely. It's an extra Offensive option.
• (free action)(once per unit) Choose a soldier, destroy the first unit or enemy wall in a straight line to either the left or right. Hits your units and allies. No mention of non-enemy walls.
Edit: I don't mean this in a mean way, but this casual game requires some basic inference, in order to keep light wording in the rules. What was your head canon for why this was allowed?Writing unambiguous rules is difficult, easy to overlook some detail that turns out to be important. But unfortunately you can´t rely on people just understanding your intentions.
(armor-piercing pistol rounds, that's some scary stuff, man!)
Also makes firebats redundant and inferior..)In my opinion it is the other way around. Firebats can take down multiple enemy units and walls and most importantly, they can disown doors from a distance, again ignoring walls.
Current newest turn is my last one.
And how about walls of your own color, can soldiers shoot through those? No. They cannot. (It destroys them.) It can be inferred that since it "Hits your units and allies.", your walls are not an exception.
(You made a pretty good argument, so I'll say you can shoot through walls to hit my units once. Just do it within the next 48hrs.)Thanks. :) I already shot one of your units through a wall by accident a couple of turns ago, so will leave it at that.
I was taking that into account. Up to you.(You made a pretty good argument, so I'll say you can shoot through walls to hit my units once. Just do it within the next 48hrs.)Thanks. :) I already shot one of your units through a wall by accident a couple of turns ago, so will leave it at that.
players have 48 hours to evacuate their units out of airlocks. You may delete them if they could move onto one. Add them to a list.
Once time expires, or all units are evacuated, the game ends!
That's an impossible turn, you only control one door so the maximum number of units is two.yup, noticed.
But point taken.
Ok, well no answer and it is more than one turn ago, I'll just leave the situation as it is.If you spot any error like that from the last turn, feel free to correct it. Yeah
Why do you want to move on, it seems like this game still has some life left in it.Battalion ended at post 117, we're at post 192... It's time for a change...
@King Zultan: we agreed to a peace for 10 turns and those have passed, shall we extend it? Maybe until another player is dead?Yes let us remain allies, and military aid will be appreciated.
With the new teleporters I might need to jump a unit in and out of the northern part of the map and lend some "fire support", if that's okay? I won't try to grab any of the northern doors as long as we're allied.
Yes let us remain allies, and military aid will be appreciated.8) On my way, need to manouver very carefully here..
I'd post a turn but ImgBB is down for maintenance.
(Once per unit) When moving on a teleporter, move the unit to the opposite side of any other teleporter, but not the same one.
1.0.1.1: Gunna just say a unit can't move after teleporting.
1.0.0.1: a. Going to clarify that you can attack yours and an enemy's walls with Engineers. Note: Soldier and FB weapons attack them aswell. b. Engineers' barrier movement may not be interpreted to let them attack on the other side of any barrier anymore.
You could try Imgur?Imgur doesn't load for me anymore not sure why it hates me.
King Zultan, thank you for helping to get this off the ground. No problem.
I think I'm still allied with Quarque, but no matter what I think I might be the next to die.Don't worry, we can just remain allies until the end. This is not a last man standing game.
Goal: Capture 5 AirlocksUh, Z? We about to lose. halp?
Roseheart, you misplaced my units.I misplaced everyone's units, I posted my last turn. Fix'd.
edit: I think you just linked the wrong picture by accident, it is the situation from a couple of turns ago
Wadya think a1s...Something more like this:Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Please note: I could have won straight away in my last turn. I just think this ending is more appropriate after this long 2v2 battle. How?
