Title: Increasing temperature on the map
Post by: NTJedi on September 20, 2022, 01:53:13 am
Probably not possible.....  but is there a way for increasing the temperature on the map or my section of the map after embarking ?

If that's not possible where would I find the steps for moving lava under a river so it's running year round?

I'm not sure about how to change temperatures, but if you're looking to thaw a river with magma, you're likely going to need a whole lot of magma, so a pump stack is the way to go.

It also might be helpful to turn off the auto-pause and re-center on damp stone detected in the announcements.txt file for when you dig out the chamber under the river.

DFHack has a command where you can spawn magma at the cursor location too.

You could probably create some kind of warm item using modding, then dump them on the appropriate tiles. There might be a higher FPS cost to this than using magma underneath.

The existing fire creatures you can put in cages are too hot and will boil the water, causing issues.
