I made an application for displaying Dwarf Fortress announcements (or all reports) in an external window. Nothing too complex but it may be useful if you have a second monitor. There is also some basic filtering functionality: you can search for text or hide reports by type.
You will need DFHack and this plugin (https://github.com/cvuchener/dfhack-plugin-reports/releases/tag/v1.0).
You can download the client here (https://github.com/cvuchener/df-announcements/releases/tag/v1.0) (win64 build only for now, but it should work on other platforms too).
The palette for light themes is not great. Suggestions are welcome.

Dark themes use the same palette as DF classic.

Another purpose of this application for me is testing my DFHack RPC client (https://github.com/cvuchener/dfhack-client-qt). There may be some bugs, don't hesitate to report them here or on github.
Known issues:
- Some connection issue when quitting DF on Windows. The announcement window may crash or DF may hang (in this later case, click "disconnect", it should let DF quit normally)
