Hello everyone, I am a Dwarf Fortress player who has been playing since version 0.4X. Recently, I bought the Steam version, but I was disappointed to find that I couldn't find the place where all the events that happened in the fortress are recorded, which was available in the classic version. I remember that in the classic version, there was a place where you could see all the events that occurred during a specific time period, and I really enjoyed looking at it. However, it seems that this feature has been removed from the Steam version.
Does anyone know how to view these contents, whether through mods or tools, or any other means that can allow me to see all the events in the fortress? Thank you very much! :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

You hav to wait until it is added back to the game, which might be soon™:
we're working toward report/announcement persistence

Thank you so much!! Thank you again for all your hard work. :) :) :) :)

Keep in mind that even in 0.47.05 there was a limit of 30,000 announcements before the oldest ones got deleted, which is actually pretty limiting. I'm hoping to rectify this, actually.

Will you be able to backport this sort of fix to older versions of dwarf fortress?

Exactly 30,000? Or was it more like 32,768?

Exactly 30,000.

Why 30,000? 32,768 could have been explained by the use of a signed short integer to index an array of announcements. Now I’m curious… ???

Probably an arbitrary number based on the size of the data and the fact that they're in a vector where they have to be removed from the front of the vector to delete.
