Today, a thick fog has enveloped the whole town since early morning.
Four people have gathered at the apartment of Ryuuji Kurenai, his parents not home.
One certain story has drew these four to gather and try to pierce the enigma behind it.
That morbid mystery being...

HORRIBLE HISTORY OF A HOUSEHOLD HELL
------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are many old mansions around this town, OOO manor is one of them.
Supposedly haunted by the family of four, who disappeared without a trace one summer.
But is it the only tragic event that took place there?
The four are sitting around a low table, a few newspaper clippings of Shiokawa Daily, spread about. Nothing about the cursed mansion's actual location...
Perhaps a visit to the newspaper's archives located in Downtown might shed some light to where it is located, or better yet, get its actual address?

Joji felt a bit awkward sitting around students that are about two-thirds of his age, and he can imagine the kids aren't too thrilled about that too. It's only because he's a good friend of the Kurenai household that he was here in the first place, his official duty checking on Ryuuji occasionally to make sure he's alright. But when he saw him musing over some newspaper clippings, he couldn't help but get involved. It's something he tried to get a lead on himself. Guess being a student has its perks, given how much spare time they tend to have.
Plus, having some allies in this cause may help him get the photos he needs to strike gold.
"Remind me to get you some Pocky later, Sekizawa-san."
Feels weird to be formal to a student, but they're both guests here, so what can he do about it?

"Ah, I was hoping it'd be easy this time..." Hanaka sighs, skimming through the book in her hands.
"Well... I guess we could always try and find the journalist who wrote the story?" She shrugs, turning to Ryuuji.
"Don't worry about it! Thank you greatly for hosting us all here."

As the trio takes a shortcut through an alley, they find a man crouched by the hole in the wall. He turns to look at the intruders and stands up.
"STOP RIGHT THERE!!" He yells suddenly. "YOU WON'T DESTROY THE EXPERIMENT! IT'S MY LIFE'S WORK!!"

Once they get to the newspaper's office, a young journalist reminisces about the manor. "Ah yes, I know that one. Here's the address."
It seems that the manor is located at the cliffs on the other end of Seaside, where many rich families own or owned their summer residences in the past. (Tatsuya/Hanaka/Joji: +2 Experience each!)
...but then the journalist mentions that most of these newspaper clippings are actually from Shiokawa's Herald. That newspaper's archives are near School and could contain issues from which the partial clippings come.
Sidequest Available: Investigate School twice.

Their arrival at the school is met with suspiciously empty corridors... (Ryuuji/Tatsuya/Joji: +2 Experience each!)
Investigation Event: HALF OPEN
Entering the third floor, which contains the newspaper's archive room, the trio passes a door... that leads 'outside' the school.
Through the windows, they can see that it's foggy... but behind the open door, there's darkness.
This door shouldn't be there. It shouldn't lead anywhere.
More importantly, it shouldn't pull Joji Soma towards it.

The moment Joji realizes what happened, it was already too late.

He braves his fingers to take a single snapshot before deciding to put the camera away for the moment, to protect it from the cold, as little as it would help. He made a mistake. He should have thought of his own safety.
His logic dictates that the inside of a pyramid, even one made of ice, could have a minimal chance of protection from the elements. More so than the coast, at the very least.
Joji wearily stomps towards the ice pyramid.

As the trio continues their walk through the corridors, they turn a corner and... (Ryuuji/Tatsuya/Joji: +2 Experience each!)
Investigation Event: THERE WAS A HOLE HERE
Hearing an eerie sound coming from behind the door, Ryuuji decides to check it out. At first glance, the abandoned classroom seems empty. Once his eyes get used to the darkness, he discovers an unusual sigil drawn on the floor, a dusty old book laying in front of it.
Judging by the smoke, someone put out the candles the moment Ryuuji entered. Matches and spare candles are thrown haphazardly around the room as the blackboard is covered in strange writing..

Ryuji picks up the book recognizes the sticker on the book. It came from the local library. (Ryuuji obtains TOME OF ROT item!)
They finally reach the newspaper archive room. After cursory search for the articles about the cursed mansion, they find two extras that they haven't seen before:
An excerpt from Shiokawa Herald:
(...) The search for the missing team of scientists, who were exploring and mapping weird cave formations, found in the cliffs, continues.
The only clue so far is a code, written on a cavern wall: 414hz (...)
An excerpt from Architect's Journal:
(...) One house owner, however, decided to make use of the cave tunnel and its peculiar acoustics.
"It's a natural concert hall" he claims. His setup involves several loudspeakers set aside in a nave. (...)

The walk to the Seaside brings another question to mind: where are all the beach-goers? The coast is devoid of any people and the waves seem ugly grey and pallid... (Ryuuji/Tatsuya: +2 Experience each!)
Investigation Event: CRAB FEAST
And then Tatsuya sees it:
Crabs are feasting on a corpse of an middle-aged salaryman, carried to the beach by the waves.

Emergency department is crowded as a direct result of the weird things happening in the town. Finally, Joji is asked into the Doctor's Office.

Avoiding the snippy claws of the crabs, Tatsuya finds documents inside the man's jacket. They're all strangely dry. Did the man really drown or was he brought here?... (Tatsuya gains 10 Experience!)
From the place where Tatsuya now stands, he can see a mansion built on elevated ground of a cliff. It looks exactly like the mansion from the newspaper's photo!
Joji Soma:
The Frostbite is treated and the Mangled Hand is operated on (-3 Funds).
