I came up with an easier solution. When I sell stuff, I leave the money sitting on the bench.
Unlike when you drop your backpack or something, it doesn't seem like the money goes somewhere else (I've lost many backpacks full of gear like that) but sits nicely on it's bench.
And since you never use money except in the shops, why the heck not? It would be even nicer if it'd count toward your credit as long as it's physically in the shop...
What I meant was, lets say you just sold all the expensive and heavy gear you have for a lot of coins. You change community and you're broke again.
So instead, you get the tons of coins, you go to a shop, you buy cheap trinkets, you then go to the other community, and sell the trinkets, that way you're not broke , and you can afford that brand spangling new armour.
Huh, you learn something new everyday.
Anymore, I just go ahead and kill everyone. Seems that if you kill *everyone* in a town, the rest of the civ doesn't care an ounce (whereas if you leave someone alive in the town you butchered, the rest of the civ will attack you on sight). Plus, it helps with gathering lots of clothes to test out how much crap I can wear. :)
