Title: Ammo
Post by: Fenrir on February 16, 2008, 04:58:00 pm
How does [CRIT_BOOST] work exactly?
Can I use [CRIT_BOOST] with ammo?
Is it possible to make ammo stick in enemies more, or does it already always stick?
Can I set how much ammo you can get from one block of metal?

Only the STICK_CHANCE tag has an effect in the ammo defs. Even if it has, sometimes it still doesn't work right. CRIT_BOOST, afaik, is not effective for ammo.

As to how much you get...  well, there's neither a SIZE or WEIGHT in the ammo defs, so I guess DAMAGE is what defines it. I get only 5 harpoons (damage 140) from a log, whereas you can get about 10-15 (I think) arrows from it.

This will hamper my mobster mod considerably. Do smelter reactions stack created ammo?

I wanted to create a sort of a machinegun, too. "Dwarven minipult".  :p Still got 25 out of each log, so I guess none of the definable parameters impact the number created in any way.

I believe a smelter reaction will create a stack of stuff, yes, so you could make a reaction that makes a hundred bullets, and they will be crammed into one stack.

The smelter reaction works. Unfortuately, the amount of ammo you get when you start adventure mode seems to be random.

Random from 30 to 40, it seems.
