Title: Demon Adventurer's
Post by: Ravious on February 17, 2008, 10:34:00 am
Can someone mod it so that I can play a Demon Adventurer without it making whole Demon Towns...  I can't seem to get that to work.

Bonus points if you can start off a demon adventurer with a backpack.

THANKS!!!

Its not possible to start as a creature without having towns, AND get equipment. However, its relatively easy to create a demon adveturer, but they wont have any weapons accessible to them.

Well, nowadays you can't create a civ that doesn't have a city type.  You could potentially set them to have little places like caves or ruins, and then give them a slot in the adventure tier so they'll start with equipment.

There may be problems with this, of course.

Set max civ and site pop to 1, and set max civ number to 1. You'll have 1 town on the whole map.

I had to almost fully flesh out an entire Archon civilization before I could generate a map (It would get as far as initializing the Age of Legends or whatever the first one is, and then it would go back to generating regions.) This included but was not limited to Biome selection, preferred starting area, coin types, symbology, active seasons, and equipment types and preferences.

It was tough and awkward, but I finally managed to start playing as an Archon the other day. The population was capped at like 5 so there were only two tiny towns with hardly any buildings. But more importantly, I had equipment and wings. This may have been a mistake. I don't know how I can go back after being able to move so freely around all of the frequent open space drops and steep inclines. The only thing that can stop me now is this melting cave place. I can't find the Titan I'm supposed to kill and there's water in everything oh God

So how do you make a creature playable without clothes/towns at all?

Also, in adv mode you can't use abilities like fireballs and such.

I don't think you can.

Not anymore, anyways.  You used to, but with the added civ tags in the recent versions, it won't allow for an entity that doesn't have towns.

Well I think you can =) If the creature is NO_GENDER, I couldn't make it to spawn in cities, while it's avaliable via "play now".
Also you start with no weapons, but you can use all the items listed in your entity.

[EDIT] All written by me ins this post above is WRONG. I'll see what can one do...
