Title: Hunting animals minipack (fully compatible)
Post by: Deon on May 08, 2008, 03:33:00 pm
(http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/51/Chicken_on_a_skateboard.JPG/150px-Chicken_on_a_skateboard.JPG)

This is a small mod which adds a few new pets which can be trained to war/hunting status.

Hawk - a good flying predator, though too small to hunt anything large
Cave bat - a big bat which can suck the prey's blood.
Monitor lizard - fast amphibeous creature. Train them to guard your underwater entrances.
Crusifer spider - a tame version of spider, of size of the dwarf.
Blood spider - though it's poison is not that deadly, its bites take a lot of blood from victims.

This is just a single file so feel free to include it in any mod if you like, it won't break the compatibility.

That sounds fun! When you say they take blood, are there actual tags for that? I thought creatures only got hp loss, or status effects like paralyze. Does blood loss make them winded and faint?

THere's a bloodsucking ability. It makes their victims to bleed from wounds more than usual. Blood loss leads to "bled to death" status occasionally =).

looks interesting.  Dunno if I'd use the spiders, but the hawk would be nice...  how do I add it to the game?

Just unzip it into your main game folder.
If you want me to release the version without spiders, just ask.

I doubt your mod would force me to use em, so there's no need to cut em out.  A lotta the talk around here makes it seem pretty simple to mod the game, so I could always take a stab at creating or adjusting a creature to something I wanted it to be  ;)

Yeah, actually there's just a text file with creature infos and graphics. You cn just remove the spiders from the file.
