ok when i get into a car chase and a officer shoots he misses or hits somebody, why doesnt he hit the car?
also why is it extremely hard to lose cops while escaping with a car?

Your car doesn't have bullet proof windows, as such, the cops can shoot through them. There actually is a new mechanic where if there is a targeted attack on your legs, the bullet will hit the car and do no damage.
You need someone with a higher driving skill to escape car chases. My founder has a driving skill of 6 and he is able to loose the cops all in one button press.

As Karlito mentioned, you will actually start hitting the car in this release or the next (I don't remember). And the reason police can be hard to escape is because they have decently fast cars and train in driving courses. If you get a taxi driver and a sports car you might see a different story.

I had an idea. What if the leg hits in car-chases had a percentage chance of hitting either a tyre, the engine or the gas tank? Although explosions are nice; I wouldn't mind just ... running out of gas if the gas tank was hit. Perhaps then your driving skill would determine how well it all worked out? I mean; how well you are able to steer your vehicle out of disaster after one occurs?
The chances would have to be somewhat slim; but it'd still make for nice variation (I tire of shooting EVERY PERSON in a vehicle until it spirals out of control and crashes into something, or watching all my companions be shot to death as I desperately try to lose the five CSS Vigilante cars behind me).
Car-chases SHOULD be risky if you don't know what you're doing, in my opinion.
