Doesn't look like it's been suggested recently, so I'll throw it in.
The wrestling interface is really confusing with it's endless list of combinations of grabbing <item> with <item> and I really think it needs to be separated.
I think the simplest would be to either split it in two parts, either
1) grab <item>
2) with <item>
Or
1) use <item>
2) to grab <item>
whichever makes more sense to the most people, and then, when you have other actions possible, put those on top, and the release <grip> ones on the bottom.

I think it is on the to-do list.
At any rate, I support this idea.

There are references to it being on the to-do list on the wiki...

To be honest I'm surprised this isn't the way it was in the first place (though I suppose it already is quite a lot of work to handle all the possible grabs, sorting them like that would,ve been fairly long too.) and I support that. It's confusing at first, and even when you get used to it, it's very, very tedious to pick the one particular gab you want to. Grabbing your weapon when it's stuck in an enemy and you're not holding it anymore is probably the most boring, yet necessary things to do in the game. Simply sorting the grabs out that way would make it so much easier.
Also, I suggest as far as wrestling goes, toes and fingers be grouped. By which I mean you could grab "toes" or "fingers", but not an individual one. They could still be damaged individually, just not grabbed, unless Toady has some plans involving specific toes or fingers, it'd make the interface that much simpler.

Yup, it still works for now. And in my opinion there are more pressing matters.
