Description
Yes you heard right, Inspired by inaulct (although there will be no cheesemakers) I am starting a mafia game where players aren't monsters/mobsters or angry villagers. Instead we will have the uninformed majority consisting of the loyal pirates and the informed minority being a group of mutineers.
The Mutineers' objective is to murder the captain and to become the majority of those on board. They do this by each voting to assassinate a person during the night phase. When night is over the assignation will take place and everybody on board will be informed of who died.
The loyal pirates' objective is to weed out the mutineers by killing all of them. They do this by each voting to make one of those within their ranks walk the plank during the day. When the day is over the votes will be counted and the pirate with the most votes will be removed from the game. Type your vote in blue
There will also be different roles to be played by each member. Some of these roles will remain anonymous while others like the captain will be known to all pirates including the mutineers. This means that those with anonymous roles will have to protect the known characters by using their abilities.
Roles:
Loyalists
Captain: His 'walk the plank vote' will count as three votes seeing as he is the most powerful man on the boat. He will not be anonymous.
Ship surgeon: He has the ability to save anyone from an assassination (or induction) over the night (including himself) by choosing to stay next to them. The surgeon will have to pm me with his choice during the night otherwise he will protect no-one. He will not be anonymous.
First mate: His loyalties to the crew and knowledge of them allows the first mate to detect what role a pirate is. This will let the first mate see what each player is and whether they are a mutineer (or other role if 'infected'). He can use this ability once per night and must pm me with his choice during the night phase so that I can reply with the information. He is not anonymous.
Extreme loyalist: This pirate can choose to protect any member of the pirate ship with his life. During the night he will pm me with his choice. If this person he is protecting is attacked (or attempted to be persuaded) during the night. The extreme loyalist will kill the attacker as well as himself trying to defend his master. This character will be anonymous. There may be more than one loyalist in the game and they are aloud to inform the known roles (i.e. captain) of who they are.
Hot head: This pirate can choose to kill any member of the pirate ship. During the night he will pm me with his choice. then in the morning that person will be killed. This character will be anonymous but they are aloud to inform the known roles (i.e. captain) of who they are (at their own risk).
Coward: This pirate can choose any member of the pirate ship to hide behind during the night phase. If the coward is targeted by the mutineers he will remain safe. No one will be assassinated that night. However if the person he is hiding behind is targeted then they will both die. This character will remain anonymous but can inform the known roles of what he is.
Loyalist: Similar to the extreme loyalist except that he will not kill the attacker. Instead he will die while protecting his master while the master stays safe. There may be more than one loyalist, he will remain anonymous but can inform the known roles of what he is.
Pirate: Just a normal pirate, this class will make up the majority of the players.
Mutineers
Head mutineer:Has the ability to choose a pirate and persuade him to join the mutineers. The choice will be made during the night with a pm to me. The success rate of the persuasion will be determined by die roll. If the number is 4,5 or 6 then the persuasion is successful. If the roll is 2 or 3 then the persuasion fails without event. If the roll is 1 then the chosen pirate will run off and inform those in charge(the three known rolls) of what has happened. The known pirates will learn the identity of the head mutineer and will then be able to persuade the lynch. Also a roll of 1 is automatic when the mutineer accidentally selects either the loyalist or extreme loyalist to persuade. Th head mutineer will not be able to persuade the Cap'n.
Mutineer: Just a normal mutineer. Sends me their vote during the night to who they are going to assassinate. Will be anonymous to all crew but each mutineer will know one another and will have to work together to overthrow the loyalists.
I hope people understand the rules. I will start the game when we have 16 (or more) players. Note: all roles may not be filled as I want the normal pirates to be the majority.

Further Rules:
Players can freely pm each other as long as they don't cheat by betraying their team. It is alright if they reveal their teams secrets if the player is persuaded into the mutineers but not for any other reason.
After a player dies, the are not allowed to post anything that might affect the votes and the game.

I am not sure if I will be getting much more PC time over the coming holiday so probably not. I will now share the longer PM's:
First night
Gantolandon protecting Zako:
You stand by the back door of Captain Zako's quarters throughout the night ready to save him from any possible attack. No attack comes. However at one point during the night you hear a scuffle. You rush around to the front of the captain's room to find Armok dead on the ground. His attacker is out there somewhere but your job tonight is not to find the bastard that did this but to protect those you are loyal to.
You are guard the captains quarters for most of the night before at one point you feel a sharp point sting you and burn its way through your neck. Everything goes black. You are dead.
You successfully kill kashyyk, however you get a bit too cared away with the whole thing and manage to spread blood through half of the ship.
After this webadict approaches you with a deal to join the mutineers. He says that he needs a man who ain't afraid to kill like you just did. He also offers you a large cut in the loot that he claims that the captain is hiding from the pirates on an island not-too-far-away. You accept his deal. You are now a mutineer.
After the successful assassination of Armok you return to your room to find Pandarsenic waiting there for you. In his hand is a wooden chair leg he has taken from your best chair. One that in fact had been in your family for generations and was handed down to you by your now dead grandmother. Pandarsenic mutters something about killing the mutinous dog and then jumps at you his attack takes you by surprise and his speed even more so. After a quick scuffle he manages to hit you hard enough on the head to knock you out. After that you drifted in and out of consciousness at he continued to beat your lifeless body. After 5 minutes of this constant beating the world around you goes black and stays that way. You are dead.
Part one: You snoop around pandarsenic for the night to find out that he is not in the mutineers but he is in fact a hot head. You make a note to yourself to not cross his path or anger him.
Part two: After further investigations (and some strange circumstances), you find that Pandarsenic is actually in the mutineers. The reason you missed this before was due to the fact that he joined just this night after being persuaded into it by an unknown accomplice.
Night two:
DF newb:
You hide in Cheetar's quarters over the night and it was lucky you did so as when you get back to your room in the morning you find it ransacked. The mutineers must have tried to assassinate you and having failed that they stole everything you had. At least they didn't steal your life.
Mafia:
Politfar searches for Df newb throughout the night but is unable to find him. He must have been hiding somewhere as his room was empty. Politfar angry at his escaped prey ransacked DF newbs quarters stealing his flintlock and all other semi valuable belongings he could find.
webadict meets with Gantolandon at the ships mast in the middle of the night. webadict offers Gantolandon a position in the mutineers. Gantolandon after hearing this treason, attacks webadict with his sword. Webadict dodges this attack and then runs off knowing that his position as a mutineer is in danger.
Sorry guys, looks like you mutineers are having a streak of bad luck
You follow Gantolandon around throughout the night. At around midnight he gets into a sword fight with someone that looks familiar. You are unable to discern who it is Gantolandon is attacking due to the dark moonless night.
Gantolandon's rival runs away unable to withstand his vicious attack.
After that you follow Gantolandon who goes to your cabin door and stands there as if to guard whoever is inside which would normally be you.
From this you deduce that Gantolandon is an extreme loyalist who ironically was trying to protect you from being attacked while you believed he was a mutineer.
You stand guard outside Cheeetar's cabin until about midnight when you see webadict ushering for you to come meet with him by the mast. Webadict starts of by saying that he wants you to join the mutineers. After hearing this you immediately attack him without hesitation. Webadict dodges this attack and then runs away scared for his life. You think about chasing the mutinous scum but you decide against it, your job is to protect Cheeetar not to hunt down mutineers like some hot head. You rush back to Cheeetar's cabin and stay there for the night ready to protect him from any assassination attempts. None come.
Night three:
Gantolandon:
You follow Cheeetar throughout the night as he goes about his investigation. The investigation itself seems to be centered around the pirate dark. At some point in the night you meet up with Frelock who informs you that he is also stalking Cheeetar to protect him from any possible attack. As you and Frelock are talking you notice that Poltifar is also following Cheeetar. Then swiftly Poltifar unsheathes his sword, rushes toward the first mate and stabs him in the back. After seeing this you immediately go for Poltifar. You charge at him sword drawn and engage him in a duel between mutineer and loyalist. You attack high, the mutinous scum ducks and then hacks at your legs. You deflect this blow then counter attack. Missing by the slightest distance your balance is thrown off, Poltifar then takes his chance and charges with his shoulder. You both fall to the ground as he tackles, you both somehow lose your weapons. The battle continues as a hand-to-hand brawl, you roll around on the deck of the ship for what seems like hours. However the fight comes to a swift ending, you and Poltifar grappling in a fight for the death roll over the edge of the ship and into the depths below. You are separated in the rough seas, you sink and then everything goes black. You are dead.

They are nowhere to be seen. Troubled by this you stay by Cheeetar through the night tending to his wound and protecting him from any further attack. None come.
You follow Dark through the night so engrossed in his actions that you take no notice of the three other pirates following you. Then all of a sudden after determining that Dark is just an ordinary pirate, nothing suspicious about him you feel a knife dig into your back. The pain is intense, everything goes black.
You wake up in the morning with Frelock by your side. He tells you that Poltifar attacked you during the night, he also tells you that if it weren't for him and Gantolandon then you would be dead. Your wound he also informs you is not life threatening as long as you keep it clean.
You attack Cheeetar in the middle of the night sword drawn and ready to kill. You rush him and manage to stab him in the back when it is turned. Right after the initial attack you hear running behind you. You pull your sword out of Cheeetar's now limp body and turn to face whoever it is that is running at you. Before you is Gantolandon, the man who betrayed webadict. He attacks high, aiming to swep your head of in a single blow. You however duck just in time then hack at his legs. He deflects the blow and counter attacks missing by a fraction. He is off balance after the attack so you take your opportunity and charge him with your shoulder. You both fall to the ground somehow losing your weapons on the way down. The battle continues as a hand-to-hand brawl, you roll around on the deck of the ship for what seems like hours. However the brawl comes to a swift ending, you and Gantolandon grappling in a fight for the death roll over the edge of the ship and into the depths below. You are separated in the rough seas, you sink and then everything goes black. You are dead.
Sorry if any of these were poorly written as I wrote all night two pms at about 3:00 in the morning. This is also my first attempt at organizing any sort of forum game so I hope it wasn't too confusing. Anyway, good game folks. The mutineers sort of had a long streak of bad luck. Always attacking and persuading the wrong people by accident. It was quite funny from my perspective as out of the three head roles to attack Poltifar choose the one with two guards, both other roles had no guards. Also bad luck on trying to assassinate the coward and persuade the extreme loyalist. The one time they got a bit of good luck was turned to crap as Cheeetar investigated their newly obtained hot head the night they got him. I laughed at this when I got the PM.
