Title: What have I done . . .

I was just playing as a spearman in adventure mode.  I had recently managed to kill a Minator by accident when I was looking for trade goods in a cave.  So I thought I'd take a crack at a giant.  Bad idea.  You see, after a few of my shots glance away, it grabs me by the spear.  I try to get better footing, but lose the spear.  I try to get back, only to get a few bruises in the process before losing hold of it again.  The giant then stabbed me in the upper body.  So pretty much I just created  an armed megabeast.

Been there, done that. It's usually a shield though.

As a side note, minotaurs are pretty wimpy (currently) as semimegabeasts go. They're only size 9 so they don't carry as much of that advantage as larger critters. That's the same size as trolls and ogres which are regular monsters. Ettins are pretty wimpy too (size 12), and don't have the natural weapons minotaurs have. Giants and Cyclopes are size 16, Titans, Bronze Colossi, Dragons and Hydras 20.

Yes, but shields aren't the most player-deadly weapons in the game.  I just armed a GIANT with a SPEAR.  Give a few decades, and it will be neigh unstoppable.

This is even worse than arming it with a ranged weapon. That guy can kill mayhaps 30 people tops before he runs out ammo. With a spear, he could do it forever!

 Egads, delete that word before he bursts out into others!

So have you tried going against him again?

OH! I know make an army of spearmen, and than see what happens! Also isn't a spears job to get stuck inside enemies?

Huh. One of my very first assignments in Adventure Mode was to slay a giant. I hid and threw coins at him until one finally knocked him unconscious (~150), then strangled him to death.

I think your best option is to start throwing waves of adventurer parties at him until one winds up with the spear stuck in his gut.  I'm not sure what effect quality has on stuck-in chance.  At any rate, it's only a matter of time.

Better yet, use an Elven adventurer and recruit a whole bunch on animals to change him with.

Giant with a spear?Try a Titan with a Iron whip.That was a helluva fight.

this isn't new to me. in 2D, a single iron man wiped out my whole adventure team with my axe.

more recently, in a world i created in the age of myth, used only for adventuring, there is a single island infested with elves and a cave crawling with giants. notice the plural.
anyway, i sent a few adventurers over, and now there is one giant armed with a sword, one giant with a spear, one giant amed with a pair of rope reed trousers, and a giant with . . .
a fistful of loamy sand.
yes, i tried using thrower to lob some random stuff at one.
good thing all the weapons are wooden.

Err . . . that may be difficult.  It mostly uses the LEGO mod, but it also uses some other mods which might be difficult to track down.  They add in Detritus' crossbow and elf bone furniture reactions.
