Title: (Community) Survivor: Sealpant

ok I got a great idea from Seven Cities of glass to make a Survivor like fortress.
Basically I will use DF Tweak to make the fortress start off with as many dwarfs as there are people that join and it will be like Survivor. then the teams will work together to make a wall to split the map in half and then the game begins. There is going to be a "air lock" to trade between the teams. There are also going to be challenges like: who can make the most of a type of item in a certain amount of time and others. the team that loses the challenge then votes on this thread (or PM me if people want no one else to know) who they want to kick off the team and then that player will be killed somehow. Also all dwarfs start off with no skills.


there are going to be 2 teams:
The Carp
The Elephants

To join to most:
Name your dwarf
what you want to bring with you (200 Points)
what team you want to be on
also you can use some of your points with someone else to bring a item that is more then 200.
your dwarf will then be added.
Note: if there is too many dwarfs on one team I will have to make them even.
also you can PM someone on your team or me if you want your dwarf to do something that you don't want anyone else to know about  ;).

Pictures will be uploaded after there is enough players.

I ... am not yet convinced how (well) this is going to work technically, but it sounds an awesome enough concept that I am more than willing to sign up!

As the third member of our glorious team, I do say I will give 190 points to compliment Mr. Snuff's pool so that we may purchase an axe. With my last 10, I would enjoy...

As for labour, I would enjoy weaving/dying/tailoring. I could also cut wood/mine (I notice we have two pickaxes and no miner, unless the good butterfly decides to chip stone). I'll do whatever is necessary to make The Elephants triumph!

Also, a question. Are immigrants allowed/what is the minimum amount you will start with? Please, explain further into this realm.

well I think the minimum should be around 5 people per a team but more is always good and immigrants would be "go to a better place" if you know know what I mean unless someone would like to claim a peasant as their character. also at one point the two groups may go together and more stuff will happen (still thinking about it).

Oh yeah, I forgot to say that I'd be willing to work as a miner as well whenever necessary.  Anything to speed up large digging projects.

yes, i meant plump helmet. we could stand to lose a pick, i can give up my plump helmets and trade em in for ~20 pig tails, and the potash. (i have no idea how important potash is...?)

It's not.  It's used in soap making.  It can also be turned to pearlash for clear glass.  If it were me, I'd just dump them and take something more useful.  (useful is up to you - maybe some booze?)

I replaced your plump helmet spawn with pigtail seed.

Ok, for team, preferably the elephants. Though either works if they are currently uneven.

Preferably a female dwarf. named kyterra. Will do work towards leather working/tanning/butchery. With leatherworking and tanning being focus, and butchery if no one else is doing it. Will adjust that later if needed.

Items-
15 units of rum
20 units of fox leather(or other 5 point leather)
Rest willing to pool towards something, if nothing to pool for use points on:
Horse leather armor
horse leather helm
horse leather high boot
horse leather leggings
and one last fox leather(or other 5 point leather)

from my count there are eleven of you

including Hawklaser

Also since the Elephants outnumber the Carp they will start off with a Random Free Item

EDIT: basically the Carp just got a whole bunch of extra stuff them their normal (but only an extra 200 points of stuff is as much as if there was another Carp)

EDIT2: because the elephants had so much extra points I gave them 2 pig tail ropes, 2 horse leather bags, and for Jack_Bread I got him 4 stacks of [30] steel bolts

I do have some small questions, will there be any trading with caravans? As if start voting people off right off the bat things would end rather quickly. And trading with a caravan could be a contest reward and it opens up a few possibilities. Maybe see how long each team can survive.

Also will there still be invaders? As that could make for some interesting events, and would change how people will want to do things.

Something to do with the imigrants might be to make a small fort in the air lock to keep and protect any extra pesants that show up for late comers. Also could use them to construct things for chalenges as well.

EDIT:  Let jack use the leather armor I purchased if he wants, as that will be best use for it starting out.

there are invaders but I doubt we will get to them

I picked the armor more as a group item than an individual one. Plus with the leather that we are bringing and your hunting will make, should have plenty of leather to make armor for the rest along with other usefull items like waterskins, backpacks, and a couple of quivers. Should make the non-armor items first as quality doesnt affect them, but it does make a difference on the armor.

Also our side I noticed doesnt have all that much food, which we will need to take care of quickly. We do have a good supply of seeds, and possibly hunting to fix that.

Noticed I forgot to include our 21 peices of fox leather in the list as well, fixing that now.
